  1. Your dining credit isn't charged until you eat. I suppose if you booked a cover-charge restaurant and then skipped out on the reservation they could still debit you a dining credit, but imagine the uproar from that!!
  2. If you haven't reached final payment yet, all cancellations should result in full refund. Cruise Next included. "Shifting" to another sailing would be the same as just cancelling the current reservation and making a new one, sometimes you can call in and get someone to do that for you so you don't need to wait for refunds to process. ***Assuming a US customer here, other countries have different policies..
  3. I'll deviate slightly - the breaded haddock that is on the 'classics' side of the MDR menus is really good. I've had it 2x on each of a couple different trips (on different ships), it's generally been really good. The sole at Le Bistro is really good, I second that entire meal, except I do the French Onion Soup instead of the escargot.
  4. I got one. Curious - how did you like it?
  5. The Hampton Inn I was in allows that, for a fee...
  6. If the reservation is correct (deviations are requested properly, etc.) and what was assigned for flights on day 70 fall within those parameters, then there's nothing wrong. NCL only agreed to get them there a certain number of days before the cruise, there's no assurance of what TIME they'll get there, as long as it's that number of days before the cruise or at least by the time the ship sails if arriving on the day of (well, they'll BOOK it that way, but it should be noted they don't guarantee arrival by the time of the cruise OR transport to the first port if flight delays happen).
  7. Why? NCL controls what flights are booked - airline, airport (if there are multiple options within a certain distance) and times. There's nothing you can do to get anything different when you book with the BOGO air. You can't request a specific time, it's all based on the flight costs for the route you need to fly. Here's the issue - you requested a deviation already, right? Typical maximum deviation is 2 days, but it sounds like you were allowed 3 because you also booked a hotel, right? You were already at the limit, you couldn't have requested a longer deviation. NCL booked what you asked and paid for, even if it wasn't what you were really expecting or hoping. The deviations on the BOGO deal are primarily to ensure you can get to the port on time for embarkation, getting to tour the embarkation city is a bonus. I won't argue that you had problems, it sounds like you did, but no refunded money less than 20 days before the cruise falls within the cancellation policy. Is it a bad look to not book flights in a timely manner and then not refund the passenger when they decide to take matters in their own hands? Sure is. But if they fudge the policy for you, why shouldn't they for someone else?
  8. You're using the BOGO air? Yes, per the T&C's of the promo any deviations need to be requested 75 days or more before the sailing. https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions If you're using the BOGO air, which it sounds like you are, they only agree to get you there on the day requested (day of, 1 day before, 2 days before), no time is offered until the flights are booked. It sounds as though they have met that requirement. I guess you're allowed the 3-day deviation by booking the hotel through the cruise line? With a little research (being an informed consumer isn't a bad idea) you will find that the BOGO air, while saving you money, DOES come with some drawbacks, such as you have discovered with your booking. There are LOTS of threads here discussing this promo and the ins-and-outs of it. Because you're within the 'penalty' period where cancellations cost a portion of the fare. Had you done some research and known some of the 'gotchas' would you feel differently? NCL is simply applying the policy and promo terms that you agreed to with your booking.
  9. It's been on since launch, and the Bliss went for dry-dock in 2021 (listed as 'refurbished' in 2021, I'm assuming that's what they mean there, she launched in 2018 and statutory dry-docks are required every 5 years) those dry-docks are usually when a major show change would be done as they need the time to swap out the sets from the theater.
  10. You're not picking a boarding time, you're picking a check-in time. At least at other ports NCL isn't really paying attention to those times, BUT the terminal at least needs to be open for passengers boarding to come in.
  11. If you got a CruiseNEXT I don't think that's the case at all. Firstly - with CruiseNext you're buying two and then getting half of that back. These are issued in two $250 certificates that can be applied one at a time (toward two cruises) or two at a time for applicable cabins when the double-up promotion is running. If you cancel you are refunded in the original form of payment, based on refund policies. They can not 'keep' your second CNC/CND if you used two and are before final payment. There is nothing in the CruiseNext terms that indicates you surrender any "bonus" if you cancel a cruise booked using a CruiseNext certificate. Point 9 in the T&C's comes closest to addressing this - https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions

  13. A review of the T&C's would have revealed that what you asked for is not possible https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions 'All guests booked within a singular reservation will be booked on the same flight.' "Singular reservation", meaning one cabin as a reservation number does not 'cross' cabins. There is no additional wording allowing for reservations to be linked for the purpose of flight booking. They USED to allow it, but it's been a year since they stopped doing it, when they had issues with flight schedules last summer.
  14. I believe the upgrade has to be at least $1 more than your current booking.
  15. This applies for US customers, it seems customers in other countries incur fees when calling for a price drop.
  16. I need to correct myself - ALL of the deck 19 and 20 FREE public sundeck space on the Escape was turned into PAID Vibe or or used to expand the Haven sundeck on the Encore. ALL OF IT...
  17. Escape has Syd Norman's in that location, the group they had in there a month ago was fantastic!! Occupying some of that space on the Escape is the FREE public sun deck...
  18. To 'enter' Canada you will be clearing customs as part of the ship. You can't randomly appear at the airport to 'enter' the country if you did not land there on a plane from another country. When leaving the country you won't necessarily go through a C&I check at the airport, EXCEPT that you may pre-clear C&I for the US at YVR (this is only done during certain hours) so your plane can park at a domestic gate when you land in the US (if that's your next airport).
  19. I've had that on my last 2 cruises as well. I'll admit that it's very good. On my last cruise the table next to me had some, shall we say creative, things to say about that dessert...
  20. Lives up to its name for sure!! OMG Caramel Butterscotch Cheesecake, to be complete...
  21. For clarity - it's the Breakaway class (Breakaway and Getaway) and the Breakaway + class (Escape, Bliss, Joy, Encore).
  22. I thought I answered a similar question recently. Entertainment is always changing out so what was valid this week may not be next week. The 'magic' show that was on the Escape a month ago was more of a comedy than the actual comedians. It was in the theater on multiple nights that Choir of Man wasn't showing.
  23. I enjoyed the Joy. Nearly identical to the Bliss and Encore. I'd say Bliss is my #1 and #2 is between the Joy and Escape. OL and Waterfront are both fantastic places to pass some time, Waterfront is probably one of my favorite features on this class of ship.
  24. @cruisekitty22 when I was on Escape a month ago the 'magic' show was more of a comedy performance.
