  1. We sold my wife's very low mileage beloved Fiat 500 last year through Motorway - great price.
  2. So do I, but if I meet you going the other way, who has the right-of-way?
  3. All this assumes the trains are not on strike though!
  4. Notice it says: "Please confirm your booking. If you no longer want this table, please cancel." O.K. So what follows? "Leave queue" and "I'm on my way"! Clear? - well, yes, to me. BUT people who are not confident using technology will be looking for "Confirm booking - I'm on my way" and "Cancel booking", and in that order - not the reversed order above. This is the problem I find with the I.T. kids who write this stuff - they know what they mean; other kids know what they mean; but strugglers will struggle, asking themselves: What do they mean? Why have they not used the words I am looking for? Do I have to press "leave queue" as well as press "I'm on my way" because I am no longer in the queue? If so, which one should I press first? If I press the wrong one first will the other one disappear? If that happens will I lose my table reservation? If that happens what do I have to do now? I dare not press anything now!! This is when, as another poster said, using I.T. becomes "work", and needlessly causes doubt and confusion for some. P&O insisting that "My Holiday" is an App when it is not is another instance of "well you know what we mean." It reminds me of the P&O site when it was trying to tell us what the rules were for travelling and boarding regarding Covid and vaccinations etc - full of ambiguities mostly through using complicated ways of saying simple things because the writer, who has all the facts, lacks the skills to write what is necessary and cannot place themselves in the position of the reader, who is trying to glean the facts from their communication.
  5. Ah! yes - freedom! - be careful what you wish for! (we are stoically fixed dining only, and only book the ships that do it).
  6. Just picking up on your reference to excursions here. All excursions are fully refundable on cancellation if made before the start of the cruise (and often even once on board, depending on the number of days before the excursion). As P&O cancelled your cruise they have also cancelled your excursions and must refund the payments for them that you had already made. The fact that you inply that even this standard event did not take place suggests an almighty foul-up in dealing with your case. I know you may not wish to rejoin discussion with P&O on this particular relatively minor cost track at the moment as it might divert away from the general thrust of your argument, but I would bear it in mind for eventual action even if all else is lost.
  7. Great post by Megabear2 - but I would add, in case you are wondering, looking at the photos, it is only the tower that is actually leaning!
  8. June 22nd, and no action by December 9th? - sounds about right!
  9. You certainly don't need to worry about the photos bit - most people's photos are actually rejected at the desk at check-in anyway and the person dealing with you will simply take another picture of you and your party.
  10. If you are with St....re I know what you mean about the absence of the correct box to tick, but I know it is one of two possibles that you have to use, either Missed Departure or Travel Delay, and I am pretty sure it is Missed Departure - try it. I think it then asks you if it is a missed port and then all is well. It worked for me a few months ago.
  11. We too prefer 6.30pm for dinner so we always book fixed dining on Ventura and pre-book entertainment, so wonder why you didn't?
  12. Yes - I arranged for some assistance with a few barrels for my last cruise, but they wouldn't allow it up to the ship, even though I had purposely booked a port-side balcony. Bit mean, I thought!
  13. dillie said: Thanks for that. Hopefully as we will eat earlier things will be easy. That’s great to know my aunt is a vegetarian. dillie - how did weskiers know your aunt is a vegetarian but you didn't?
  14. The insurer will still pay even if another port was substituted. They will not pay if you received some compensation - e.g. on board credit - from P&O. I notice the letter Vampiress88 shows does not refer to compensation, but if some were being paid it would surely say so on the letter to further "sweeten the pill", so I would expect most if not all insurance companies to accept Vampiress88's example without further query - i.e. the issued on board type.
  15. Yes, that's the one. This one worked for us when we forgot to get the letter issued on board and had to ask P&O for a letter after we had returned : Booking reference: Dear ............. Further to your recent request, please find the following information to assist you with your travel insurance claim. This serves to confirm that on 11 November 2020, Mr and Mrs ......... booked on Aurora R209, to sail with P&O Cruises, which sailed from Southampton 8 July 2022. Your confirmation invoice issued to you at the time of booking should serve as costing for this holiday for your insurance claim. During the cruise, due to adverse weather conditions, Aurora’s call to Visby on 15 July 2022 was cancelled and the ship remained at sea. However, to ensure that guests were able to enjoy time ashore, Tallinn, Estonia, was added to the itinerary and the port of call was successfully achieved on 16 July 2022. I can confirm that no refunds or compensation have been given by P&O Cruises in light of this amendment. I trust this information is suitable for your claim, should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us. Yours sincerely Guest Support Department P&O Cruises P&O Cruises is a trading name of Carnival plc, a company incorporated in England with company number 04039524 and with registered office at Carnival House, 100 Harbour Parade, Southampton SO15 1ST. 16. Your comment about health and legs is so apposite. "You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone" as the song says.
  17. I don't know why, but I don't come in via "Boards". I would book-mark a page from any topic (which you must have been able to do to get to where your post was listed before it was moved), then next time I want to read the boards I click on my saved bookmark of that page to get it back; scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Go to topic listing" and this brings me to the topics summary page in real time/updated. It's a workaround.
  18. PORT ROYAL: One had the identical kind thought regarding P&O - Once bitten…… Victoria2: One also had sceptical thoughts on P&O but one went with friends for a shortie and one had a marvellous time. One wouldn't go again on P&O unless it was for a short break and with a crowd but it shows one can enjoy something one had reservations about. I make that One-all.
  19. Another point to be totally comprehensive, if the Cruise company pay out compensation, perhaps as extra On Board Credit, then the insurance company will not pay out, so it is important that the letter from the cruise line states that no compensation was given out for the missed port. Interestingly, if a substitute port is achieved instead, so that you have the same number of ports as planned when you left port, this does not invalidate a claim becuase the insurance (or at least mine) was specific to the ports on the itinerary when you set sail.
