  1. So ----- pre-flight test only? The one they sometimes don't ask for?
  2. 20% more room as well. For lack of anything important to do I worked up a spreadsheet on the minimum changes of underwear/socks required given the ease of "free" laundry. Guess I need a life!
  3. I'm especially looking forward to the extra TV. In the "lower class" cabins you have to either sit/lie on the bed or get a crook in your neck while catching up on port talks, lectures, etc. Laundry is nice. Whether the extra perks are worth the extra cost is a another matter.
  4. We always tried to figure a "best part last" approach. Judgement call.
  5. The test before first flight should go away as well. Too much to hope for?
  6. Indeed! Even woke the wife up. She knew I was going to be a less than happy camper. Great news!
  7. We also qualify for more than "One complimentary scoop of gelato."
  8. Our "room ashore" in Vancouver was a hard concrete floor in the cruise terminal for the better part of an hour. Nowhere to sit, just stand and wait in a particular (green?) with zero amenities. Didn't dare go to the bathroom ("bus will be here any moment") even if we knew where it was. Lots of disgruntled folks and "Tellus" caught hell later. If they knew the busses were screwed up why not let us wait aboard in the atrium?
  9. What a Viking agent says and $7.50 will get you a cup of coffee pretty much anywhere.
  10. Viking has got to be getting the message.
  11. Well ----- we are super-dooper purple ribbon with yellow dots and fancy orange fringe cruisers ----- and we like the jr suite on Viking just fine.
  12. Like I said ---------------------
  13. Want vitamin C? Two words: Mai Tai!
  14. The pom-pom wavers here (and there are many) are going to wave their pom-poms no matter what.
  15. That would be a welcome deal for us (leaving a week from Sunday). Now ---- kill the daily testing!
  16. You can get anything you want. SSBP is just one way of paying.
  17. The standards include being aged in new oak barrells. Note that the Scots put a great deal of their whisky in used bourbon barrells acquired from guess who.
  18. It actually is bourbon, by definition, or very close to it. They just don't like to call it that. The only thing that differentiates Jack Daniel's, for instance, from Kentucky Bourbon is the charcoal filtering. You can get arguments but if it meets the standards for mash bill and proof it's bourbon.
  19. I imagine that Clay, being from NC, is one of many who do not consider Scotch to be whiskey. Picture some poor kid from Indonesia showing the mini bar to a guy from Tennessee or Kentucky and pointing out the "whiskey."
  20. Rum. Typical stocking on our last cruise = one each of: Bacardi Rum Smirnoff Vodka Beefeater Gin Dewar's Scotch Whisky No Bourbon available!
  21. On our last cruise we dined in Chef's once and cancelled the rest of our reservations in favor of Manfredi's. We had the "included" wines that one time but those did not factor in.
