  1. We are leaving a cruise in Florence (Livorno) in May and rejoining the cruise in Naples. We are taking the train from Florence to Naples and our train has a stop in Rome. Easy🙂
  2. Good choice. AT is unlikely to cancel flights out of Rome. When our AT flight from Athens was cancelled, we had to scramble to get a flight to Rome to continue on to TO with AT. I’m not quite sure what you mean by “There is no priority queuing in Toronto”
  3. Indeed, one has to translate spell checks shirt-comings
  4. We love Air Transat Club Class too. But just be careful because 3 times in the past year we have had flights cancelled with no notification. We found this out because we logged in to choose our meals to find our flights had been cancelled. It took a lot of scrambling on our part (and hours of holding on the phone) to reroute. Nevertheless, we still book with AT, but mainly to use up our credits.
  5. Amazing! Thanks Clay. We will take a closer look at the included tour. A pitcher of Aqua de Valencia sounds perfect to me. 😀 I just looked at your link and I would love to see that!!! That is soooo up my alley. I’m immersed in Spanish language lessons so I might even understand it. Unfortunately we’re in Valencia on a Monday in March. But we will be on an extended trip in May in Spain, so you have given me something to research to see if I can find something comparable during our travels. Thanks so much!
  6. Many cruisers here have said great things about Valencia. We had an excursion booked with Viking — Treasures of Valencia — but the excursion has been cancelled because the silk museum will be closed on the day we are there. We are looking for other things to do there, besides the oceanographic experience in the city of arts and sciences. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you.
  7. We did this cruise in January 2020 and we really enjoyed it. We have been thinking about doing it again and Jim Avery’s thread on his recent cruise clinched the deal! Today we booked it for 2024.
  8. Oh darn! I missed Clay's reply. Umm, where's the popcorn? 😢
  9. You are right that the passengers who pay more for their stateroom have the option to book 1 or 2 more specialty restaurant reservations. Yes, there are some cancellations once those passengers board. IMO, one of the ways this could be mitigated is to post the menus of the Chefs Table in advance as they have done in the past. We enjoy dining in Manfredis and our reservations there probably won’t change. I don’t agree with your use of the term “lower class passengers”. It doesn’t apply to Viking cruises. We have found that once you’re on board a Viking ship, your cabin class is never an issue unlike most cruise lines. That’s the main reason we cruise with Viking.
  10. Happy New Year to you also annxstitch.🙂
  11. Thanks for posting these. It was fun going through them.
  12. Apparently the 2025 WC will be up next week to book. I have heard it’s the same itinerary with several add on segments at the end to take it to 180 days.
  13. Thanks so much for this 😊. Our problem is that we have so much credit with AT over the years that we are trying to use it up before (we fear) they go out of business 😢. So we are now looking at a flight with AT to FLL and JetBlue from FLL to SJU. But I will look at your suggestion more closely. We have flown out of Buffalo before and we really like that airport.
  14. That would be great. I’d fly them anytime!
  15. Same. We were to book at 11pm December 25 and I checked at 6am and voila! They were probably available to book even earlier than that. We booked all of our Manfredis reservations which we will keep, and we booked our Chefs Table reservations, but will wait to see what the menus are before we try to rearrange them once on board. Pre Covid they would post the Chefs Table menus for each day before booking. Doing that again would help.
  16. Our flight to San Juan for a Trans Atlantic cruise in March has been cancelled and our flight from Athens to Toronto at the end of a cruise in May has been cancelled. In both cases AT didn't notify us or our TA. I found this out on my own when I was looking to see how full the aircrafts were. For the Athens to Toronto flight, we were able to scramble to get on a flight from Athens that stops in Montreal (1 day later), changes aircraft, then onto to Toronto. For our flight to San Juan in March (March Break!!!) we are looking for a flight to FLL and then onto San Juan with JetBlue. Extra $$$ though.
  17. We have 3 cruises booked with Viking (4 if you include a B2B) and we weren’t getting the promos either. We recently signed up with a different email address and we are now getting the promos. Basically the Canadian ones are the same as the American ones.
  18. Best wishes to both you and L. I’m sure the 4 of us will meet again on another Viking Cruise. Keep in touch. JMO, if you can do it, clinical trials are the way to go. 👍
  19. @SJD117 article in WaPo today. I would link to it, but I have tried on a few occasions to reach out to you with info and my posts are denied. I hope you find it helpful.
  20. Thanks so much for this. We’re happy to see that they are adding excursions in Chioggia. The “Included” and then time on our own and the “Taste of Chioggia” are perfect. Looking forward to it. 😊
  21. Thanks for this and also your NYT link. Having spent a lot of time in Venice in the past, we hadn’t planned on visiting again no matter where the Sea docked. Our plan was to catch a train and go elsewhere. But Chioggia looks worthy of more research. Thanks again.
  22. You found it! Thanks so much for that. I knew it existed and was searching for that earlier.
  23. And take a look at Trip Advisor forums. That’s usually where we find well-recommended ground transportation. It has always worked out for us. Normally, you’ll get a nice little tour of things you didn’t get to see, with excellent local commentary, on the way to your destination.
