  1. In case you didn't know, studio cabins do not have refrigerators. So for instance, you wouldn't be able to grab some yogurts the day before to have in the morning.
  2. You can definitely wait until you're closer to the sail date buy the certificate. Just be sure to get it before that 120 window (or whatever the terms are at the time of purchase). There are also places you can sell certificates if you find yourself stuck with one that you can't use. Google will help you find them.
  3. I have used my Cruise First certificates on cruises that were already booked. I've even reused the same certificate due to cancelling bookings. The key is that the sail date must be at least 120 days away. Also cruise first can't be used on sailaway rate cabins and the sailing must be at least 6 days in length.
  4. MSC drink packages include specialty coffees and bottled water (I get acqua panna). All the bars have espresso machines. I never drink as much coffee as I do as when I'm on MSC. I'm not a coffee drinker either. But when in Rome... or at least on an Italian ship....
  5. Just keep in mind the sea days. Even if you don't drink every day, the math still might make sense when you average it out to include the 18%(I think that's what it is) gratuity for each drink purchased.
  6. BOGO airfare is back. I kinda think it was a glitch that it was missing. On Thursday, I looked at the same cruise on my phone and on my laptop. The one on my phone didn't offer air but the one on my laptop did.
  7. Totally agree. Also with RC, the price varies on if you want a refundable deposit or not and the drink package seems to have dynamic pricing, so you always have to keep checking to see if the current price is less than you paid.
  8. I was on Prima last Thanksgiving. I had the traditional turkey dinner in the MDR. The mac and cheese was wonderful! I ordered a second bowl of it.
  9. @debnjoe1438 I sailed on the Meraviglia and the same happened to me. I seected early but when I checked in, it said time not set. And when I got my room key, it said to be assigned. I was Fantastica. I ended up going to a dining room the first night and requesting a time. It was written on my room key in sharpie.
  10. I got cappuccinos and macchiatos from the bars. They have espresso machines there and were included in easy plus.
  11. the page with the little barcode is your boarding pass.
  12. I was on the first Meraviglia sailing out of Brooklyn this past April. I really had no complaints despite not being in the Yacht Club. I didn't spend much time on the pool decks, preferring to spend time at one of the many lounges. I had no issue getting drinks. I might have had a couple of slow dinner services and ate 95% of my meals in the MDR.The only two incidents that stuck out was someone interloped my reserved cabana at Ocean Cay. They didn't seem to understand English when my friends and I tried getting them to leave. One of the island caretakers had them move so no real big deal. The second was during the 1st night at the MDR. Many people missed their assigned early dining and didn't like that they had to wait to be seated at another sitting. One guy walked up to the Maitre'd and banged on his desk demanding to be seated. Oh how I wish I understood Italian. Needless to say, he did not get seated at all. Embarkation was slow but I heard there was a medical emergency. Disembarkation was slow but that was people not following instructions.
  13. You would arrive Thursday, 2 days before the sail date.
  14. I’ve never been able to order a double or a tall drink (vodka and cranberry in a highball glass) with CHEERS. I once had a server that would just come by with a shot to add to my drink after she delivered the original order. She would always ask me if I had eaten already before she started. Lol.
  15. I would recommend sailing before mid october. I sailed at the end of October last year and every tour guide commented on how unusually warm it was for that time of the year. I think the highs were in the high 50s/low 60’s. They said most locals that don't stay for the winter have already left for warmer temps. Many of the shops were already closed for the season. I had a wonderful trip but I’m not sure I would have enjoyed it as much if the weather was typical for that time of year
  16. I have seen staff try to direct people away from areas they shouldn’t be in only to be ignored or argued with. Staff has enough to do to get the ship turned over and prepared for the next group of passengers. That energy will be better used doing that vs telling people to follow the rules when they clearly have to interest in following the rules.
  17. The one time that I did Chef’s Table, I was able to select a day when booking but I was still assigned a night. It wasn't the date I selected.
  18. It’s been my experience that post-covid, port fees and taxes for missed ports aren’t being refunded. I also haven’t experienced a price change for an announced itinerary change prior to the sail date either. I have had a premium priced “exotic” Caribbean cruise changed to a basic Bahamas and DR cruise. Granted, I didn't compare the taxes/fees to know if there was a difference.
  19. I would expect whatever coverage the policy states. There are policies that offer a few hundred for missed ports but I’m curious if there’s any coverage when there is a change that is announced prior to the start of the cruise.
  20. Is there trip insurance that covers cancelled ports that are announced prior to the start of the cruise?
  21. Glad to see imy April cruise is back but I still have a Princess cruise in my back pocket just in case. $100 refundable deposits right now.
  22. You can compare prices before you book Fly2Fun. If it's more than booking with the airline, book with the airline.
  23. I think it's usually a 1 category upgrade but sometimes it's a 2 category upgrade. So if you know what sailing you want to book, it doesn't hurt to book while onboard. It could be a savings of several hundred dollars.
  24. Not the Breakaway, but when I was on the jewel on a Panama canal cruise, the MDR had a latin item on the MDR lunch menu daily. One day i ordered a chicken meal and I thought it would be some slices or a breast at the most. It was an entire half of a chicken! I was so embarrassed. lol I made a valliant effort to finish it. But the chicken won.
