  1. We enjoy the aft Excel suites, but had someone in our group stay in this room on the Celebration last year and there was 3 in the party. Two slept in the bed and one on the converted sofa. The only issue they had in this room was when at sea and it was windy, going out on the balcony was not for the feint of heart. LOVE the Excel suites.
  2. We were on the Horizon during a spring break week. I was very frustrated in how crowded the bars were to get drinks. Two reasons, high capacity of guests, cheers packages. Will that ring true for July on the Vista in July? Who knows. Alchemy will always be crowded.
  3. Great review Jeff. we differ on the initial views of Vista, but that is fine. Looks like you had a great cruise, cannot wait for more along the way.
  4. Love that ship and cruise, did it in January and up again next March. Thanks for the review.
  5. Following along, your betting life is certainly noteworthy.
  6. Will not get into a dog fight, but that is EXACTLY what you said. You said it would be your last cruise on the Splendor. You did not say it was last 4 day cruise. There is no bickering (well not from me anyway). The issue the Op describes is real, and may be certainly more acute on shorter cruises, of that there is no doubt.
  7. I doubt the ship is responsible for crazy client interactions…..but that is just me.
  8. Apples and orangutans. The dry dock they are talking about is regular maintenance, the one you are talking about was a major transformation. Other than being the same cruise line and having a funnel, there is little similarity.
  9. Memories are the ties that bind, enjoy those good memories. We have very good friends who experienced what you guys went through. Good vibes to both of you, hope to cruise with you guys again, it has been a LONG time.
  10. I get your point. The fact is that cruising is like any other commodity (pricing wise). It is supply and demand. The market will probably pay what the market can afford based on the consumer ability and willingness to play. If Carnival sets the price too high, then the market will dry up. If course there are other variables like what the competition offers etc. If the new price is in line with the market, then I would agree with your assessment.
  11. My comment on the Carnival transfer had nothing to do with issues they have per se, but rather the timing. You wait for a bus to be full (depending on what time you get off the ship), if early, no issues, later in the morning you can wait a while. If time is on your side, then no issue at all. Most often, they are usually more expensive, sometimes significantly so. The only cheap way in NYC is if you have some pick you up….
  12. Almost always that way at any home port.
  13. Which part is funny, that the Australian dollar is so weak or that Carnival would adjust the price?
  14. Easy peasey, use a professional. Their knowledge and expertise are free and they can explain the advantages of booking under a group rate and the perks you can get to book under this way, Choose a TA or PCP and utilize their free expert advice. It would be by FAR the best solution to your questions. Group rates are not always the best way, but their are definately something you should consider.
  15. We have a friend who is a friend of Sam the butcher from the Brady Brunch who said it was head and tails above.....😎
  16. Along die the ride, congrats on the graduation, a significant ,life milestone!
  17. Meh, I said it before and I will say it again. With the possible exception of first time cruisers, anybody with a brain knows soon enough what the costs are. Just another attempt to step in and add controls (in this case by a state that leads the free world in doing just this) to something that is not broken. No unicorns seen here, just over zealous legislators.
  18. Need a lot of pigeons the you have so many Chinese restaurants
  19. ....and maybe on tomorrows lunch menu
  20. Bingo! We have a winner. It does not change a thing. I have never met a person who did not know what they paid for a cruise. If they do not, the answer lies in the mirror.
  21. The issue is not how long your flight is but when it would arrive. Add potential delays, potential traffic issues in and around LGA, and Manhattan, etc. the more variables the more things to worry about. What airline?
