  1. true enough on the dogs. Our daughter had just occupied a suite in Disney (Bay Lake Tower) and left stuff and went in the park and got a call 2 hours later and was told a dog alerted on their door and the door next to them. Long story short, they were moved to another room, significant compensation for clothes and aggravation and had all their clothes cleaned by Disney. First rate handling.
  2. LOL, if the charge bothers them, skip the popcorn. Cruise lines, ALL cruise lines are experiencing tough economic times complicated by the huge inflation factors as well. When these things happen (at a rate not experienced in decades), ON TOP of the being shut down and incurring billions in costs from the shut down and then having all these OBC they had to issue to keep them afloat (which means they have cruisers sailing for free), something has to give. Your take is to raise large priced items (which then people forgo), their plan is to give the best cruise experience (not popcorn experience) they can. We can disagree.
  3. Well, I certainly did not go looking for it. One was a neighbor who was let’s say unhappy with the Carnival experience. The other we witnessed happen and saw them escorted off the next morning with their bags.
  4. There is no doubt, both were gifts from my wife on special evenings. Thanks
  5. Remember it well, just book it, I will venmo you the money.
  6. There was no popcorn being sold on the Celebration on our January cruise.
  7. Last count they are 24 BILLION in the hole from being shut down (not of their own accord ). This is a cruise line (my favorite cruise line) that for the last set of notes they had to borrow, The had to put up the last 9 ships in all of their lines as collateral. I am fine with them charging for anything.
  8. They are in both ships on those suites. Very nice ones.
  9. I sense you have serious doubts, way before this started I have seen people put ashore mid cruise. The times of the entitlement mentality appears to be on radar, good for Carnival.
  10. I guess we would have to ask her. I can tell you this, on our last cruise on the Celebration, there were law enforcement walking with drug sniffing dogs through the terminal outside as well pre cruise. Sounds like a solid start to me. There is zero doubt of the need.
  11. Agreed, the answer is creativity. Even the HAL world wide cruise has segments.
  12. I do not want to get into a discussion regarding affordability, I understand your view. Jim
  13. So I have a little post cruise story. I do not wear a ton of jewelry, but when cruising on formal )excuse me, casual elegant nights), I carry a couple of rings I keep in my toiletries bag, which when staying in the excel aft suites went on the upper shelf in hte Bathroom. Fast forward to about 10 days ago, we got a call from Carnival saying the person that occupied our cabin gad turned in….my rings which must have been next to toiletry bag. My wife is considering signing me up for memory testing….. These rings have more sentimental value than cash value. Carnival gave us the contact info and we contacted the people (they deiced to take the rings vs leave them on board), and they forwarded to me. We sent them back the cost of the forwarding and an additional amount as a sign of thanks for them to enjoy on their next cruise. My faith in my fellow cruisers continues to be impress me.
  14. Cannot comment on the just suites part, but 8 cruises since the return to the sea (6 in suites) all were available when we boarded.
  15. The demographics might surprise you. We are talking about one ship and one world cruise btw. Some of us bottom feeders (way more than needed) would embrace the concept. The Splendor sold out a 28 day cruise two years ago in 11 days. There is no need to get into a debate on us bottom feeders, but having seen some of the demographics, I would feel VERY confident they would fill a ship if offered, maybe our food stamps would be taken on the ship as well….who knows.
  16. For other reasons, Carnival has ventured more into “unique” longer cruises (one this coming year at 31 days I believe. I think the ops question is a valid one. They have taken on ships from Costa that suddenly were not selling in China market. They have the ships (Venezia would be a great choice, do not know about the economics of one ship compared to another fuel wise) and we are mot talking about filling 50 thousand cabins, just one ship. In terms of their demographics, for one ship and much longer saisl would be a plus, not a deterrent from my view. All that said, they are in tough times and it would have to work big time for them to consider it.
  17. We are on the MG with a small group NEXT Feb and the only aft excel available was on 9, I passed and took an OS
