  1. I've been told that they do not get any commission on bookings and that any available commissions/credits go to the PCC who booked the cruise you are on at the time.
  2. They may charge you a penalty to cancel what you have and charge the going rate for the upgrade if you got a solo discount. If you paid for double occupancy for your current cabin, you can possibly add them to your current booking by paying taxes etc. You might also be able to pay to upgrade, if the cost is more than what you paid - those decisions are made on an individual basis and are not guaranteed.
  3. We had a regular drill (outside) on the Spirit last September...Had a lovely view of Seattle while waiting!
  4. If you are asking about the $50 credit, no.
  5. Yes, once the deposit is done, you can make changes and payments through My NCL. The also get the credit if you book something while onboard a cruise they originally booked.
  6. For those who always accuse NCL of "nickle and diming" (and I hate that phrase!) this allows me to return the favor.... I book in advance and paying old DSC rates, so paying DSC in advance saves me $4 to $4.50/day. On my upcoming 14 day cruise, pre-paying saves me $63. Then there's the points issue. Got nearly $300 back on my last cruise. Since I used my NCL card originally, that gave me 900 points, so I keep $9 in points value if I get the cash onboard. But wait, there's more. I can use points to upgrade my cabin, my average being over $2k in savings per upgrade, making those 900 points worth another $60 or so. YMMV
  7. So I went ahead and made the payment, now my invoice shows a credit...
  8. My account showed a balance due even though I just made the final payment a couple of days ago, final payment due on Sunday. The amount due is the same as my pre-paid service charges so I just paid it rather than worry about a cancelled cruise etc. since I'll be paying it later anyway.
  9. There is no connection between the land-based accounting system and onboard systems so they cannot refund to original purchase method. Can be inconvenient but that's how it works. And they can't credit your onboard CC if you have a positive balance since they have no way of knowing who made the purchase and how it was made. Banks don't like to see credits over and above expenditures on credit cards.
  10. They don't care if you go or not, it's just the way their accounting system works. You still get your credit.
  11. Not exactly new, been that way since about August 2021. Paid upgrades only is the current policy. Even if it's $1. I've seen posts from people saying they did get a free upgrade, so take what you read with a grain of salt.
  12. Yes, you can book onboard. NO, they do NOT hold back spaces - people seem to confuse this with restaurant reservations that they do limit. Makes absolutely no sense to think they would, as excursions must be paid upfront. But people cancel and they can sometimes add more people if the vendor has another tour guide, bus etc. Depending on the ship, you can book using the app once you are onboard, on your tv, or at a kiosk. Or go to the excursion desk and get on the wait list. Yes, they will subtract the $50 if you book onboard, but not until after you've gone on the excursion. From my experience, the folks who answer calls for booking excursions can be quite helpful - told me to keep calling back to check on the excursion I wanted - and it did become available the next day.
  13. My understanding is that they do not get credit for the booking unless they process the payment, so if you complete the booking online, they don't get any credit.
  14. Slightly off topic but if you do a mock booking and contact your PCC before making any payment, they get credit for the booking. Of course you can't put a last minute booking on hold but I'm sure your PCC would appreciate any credits you send their way. As you indicated, working with a PCC can sometimes get you room selection for those " best available" situations.
  15. Same cabin in another part of the ship doesn't mean the pricing is the same. So different pricing for fwd, mid, aft - depends on the NCL algorithm for what's more desirable for that ship/that itinerary. But calling and getting a better answer isn't uncommon either, good luck.
  16. What app? Yes, Port valet is a service where your luggage goes on to the airport and gets checked it but it is only available in Seattle as far as I know. A few other ports may have a similar service but LAX does not. NCL usually offers excursions that end at the airport but they do sell out, you would book them through NCL. You pick up your luggage in the terminal and load it on the tour bus, unload it at the airport and check it in.
  17. Deviation is based on when you arrive. So for west to east, figure an 8 hr flight, plus 3 hrs time change. So overnight Friday for Saturday cruise. With a deviation, you might leave Thursday night but there's a reasonable chance of putting you on an early Friday flight - no way to say.
  18. On a couple of the earlier restart cruises, there were shows by members of the production crew. One in particular stood out as one of the best ever shows I've seen on NCL.
  19. Check in time is NOT boarding time and if you have an early check-in time you can expect to have a long wait. Your edocs should say when boarding begins - often that is around noon.
  20. I never said they were selling original works of art. They do have some exclusive contracts so if you want that particular piece, they are the only distributor. My statement about shipping from Miami was in reference to limited editions. However, I believe that if you do buy an original it is either shipped back to Miami and reframed before it is shipped to the buyer, or the buyer takes it off the ship themselves.
  21. Just off the Jade, no issue getting leftovers prepped to take with, didn't ask about delivery. Last I knew, only O'Sheehans/Local doesn't allow takeout.
  22. It's entertaining, free booze. However, if you show an interest in something you may be able to negotiate a better deal outside the auction - think buying a car, starting to walk away. You may win a "free" lithograph but will have to pay shipping. They do have exclusive works for some of the artists they represent, most are limited editions and you'll get yours shipped from Miami after you get home, not the one from the ship.
  23. You're not understanding. There is no need to convert your CC points to OBC. Just take a statement credit. Then just charge any cash you want to your onboard account, the amount will be offset by the statement credit. If you've already "bought" obc, then your only option is to use it or get cash from guest services at the end of your cruise. To use it, you charge the amount against your onboard account and pay the 3% fee. Move the money to the machine and play or cash out as you wish. If you charge $250 to your onboard account, you end up with 772 additional points, your card is charged $257.50. With a statement credit, your 25000 credits offset the $250, and you have 772 additional points to pay for the convenience fee, plus some. If you use OBC, your account would be charged $7.50 and you would get 22 points, not enough to offset the convenience charge, you lose.
  24. You are charged to put cash from your account onto the machine, not to cash out.
  25. You are making it way too complicated. Just get a statement credit, why bother with obc? Charge your account if you want to gamble, you'll collect additional points, a full offset to the convenience fee.
