  1. Belle I’m still struggling with getting back on track. We are in another heat wave with feel like temps at 110 . It’s the humidity that makes it so oppressive. I can walk as long. I’m bored etc. I finally see the spine Dr tomorrow. I want him to explain my MRI results and specific limitations on activity sad that my symptoms had to resolve with limited medications. next cruise is Thanksgiving with my ex and our sons and his wife and her daughters.
  2. Solo you can do it lots of support here. Belle sorry you’re not feeling well. Sorry about your friend. It is the saddest part of aging- we start losing friends and family. I hope Jo is doing okay with all the rain. It has been a weird summer for weather.
  3. Good morning everyone. Glad to say stayed the same. Got in 2 miles this morning. Belle I hope you got home safely. I’m with you on wanting to do something that I’ve aged out of. No cruises until Thanksgiving. Will be my first princess cruise but same ports inWestern Caribbean. Only down side is dealing with DIL from hell. Jan you should be getting ready for your cruise.
  4. Good afternoon every one. I’m still struggling to get on track. Not getting in steps just too hot.
  5. Sorry for being late. We had a storm last night high winds. I had no power from 9pm last night until 5:25pm today. I have a headache. The dogs were getting restless of course we are in the middle of a heat wave. Outside 100, inside house was 84. didn’t weigh this weigh back off track
  6. I’m the same better to weigh everyday to keep on track and to recognize the patterns and not panic with daily changes
  7. JUST same is good. The scales just taunt me. I weighed exactly the same for 3 days and today up 0.2 usually I vary day to day. A little disappointed because I’ve finally been able to cut out the candy for 4 days, also stay under 900 calories . Which sounds lo but I’m 5’3 and naturally have a slow metabolism - I rarely feel hungry or full. The heat is awful. Only walking in morning at 7-8 am about 1-2 miles inside the dog park. With the high humidity the mosquitoes are awful on the trails.
  8. Good morning everyone. It’s a hot start for today 6:30 am it is 81 degrees with 86% humidity feels like 89. No long walks for us today. I’m back on track have eaten under 900 calories daily since Monday. I’m not hungry just eat out of boredom. Good loss but think it’s water weight that makes the number seem high. But it’s motivating. Drum roll lost 6.8 lbs. —- 8-13 lbs to get back in my range. was going through old photos yesterday found pictures from 2007 I was definitely big - I was in denial at that time on how big I was.
  9. JUST US welcome. Great you have been losing since Feb (hardest part for me is getting started on healthy eating). You shouldn’t have a problem losing 12 by out that 3 lbs a month. I’m definitely feeling better. Only residual for nerve irritation is numb top joint of index finger. I’m back on a healthy eating plan. I’ll start the weeks while Belle is gone.
  10. Everyone great losses. Belle glad you are going on the cruise. You will have some great memories. Finally feeling better. Very little nerve tingling - walking more (now into the 100 weather with high humidity) I think I over stretched when turning my head to the right while on the skiff. Haven’t read the MRI - sure it’s fine have appt with neuro /spine after his vacation in middle of July - if it mri was serious I would have been seen earlier. I feel like myself sleeping in bed. Essentials to have for this aging body, recliner, lots of pillows, have stash of pain meds in case of injury - pcp only prescribed a weeks worth of lo dose tramadol - if more needed have to go to pain clinic where you are made to feel like an addict. Easier to take a carnival cruise to Mexico and pick up meds there. I feel like eating better. Need to loose 20 lbs.
  11. Belle sorry you’re not feeling well. Susan great loss. Jan same is good Sebsgran welcome to the tribe. I did weigh last week I’m 20 lbs up from baseline. Trying to get back on track. Had MRI cervical spine yesterday will be a few days to get results then see neuro spine dr. ( think I figured out what happened — was on a skiff hanging on for life. The guide was pointing out birds and sights behind me. - I turned my head towards the right to the point on straining ). I’m working on increasing walks up to 2 miles in a.m. to hot to walk in pm. . Slept in bed all night - first time in 4 weeks. Everyone stay focused and don’t bring any temptations into house.
  12. MTnest wow you are doing great. How exciting to be so close to your goal. JAN same is better than a gain. How is DH - is his pain better. FRANK the same is good. SUSAN you’ll definitely lose with grandma duty. BELLE thanks for starting the thread. I hope you are feeling better. im still out of commission. The CT SCAN shows abnormalities of C6-C7. Have to have an MRI which is scheduled for JUN 4. Then can see a neurologist which will be another week. No prescriptions for pain , sleep in recliner and walking 1-2 miles daily. I’m depressed so not weighing - seeing the gain will make me feel like a failure. MY PLAN focus on a positive attitude. Do worry about what I don’t know. Eat healthy.
  13. Wow how time flys MAY IS ALREADY half gone. I’ve been checking posts and a lot of good losses last week. Stressors are the same. My son will come home this weekend. He’s been in Temple, Tx with his dad. Bless his heart. His dad (my ex) had a stroke. My neck pain that radiates down my left arm is the same. Barely walking 2000 steps a day. Just trying to not overeat.
  14. Good Thursday afternoon. I haven’t weigh and don’t intend to for awhile. I’ve got way too many stressors. I hope everyone is doingg well with all the remodeling. Jan how is DH?
  15. Hello everyone. It has been a crazy two weeks. I enjoyed my cruise. BUT during the flight to seattle ended up with nerve type pain left are that was April 27I thought it was shoulder issue I did not kayak, limited hiking to short hikes etc. Back from cruise arm is very painful unless I’m still in recliner, continues difficult to sleep. Finally saw chiropractor friend at dog park - it’s a disc issue C6, I have a virtual dr appt this afternoon. will need X-rays. —— Much bigger concern is my ex had a stroke he’s alert , oriented, speaking, numbness on right side —- he lives 2hours from me. The son who is living with me has been there since Friday. il go this weekend. needless to say my eating is out of control. I’m doing a little better with junk food.
  16. Belle - thanks for good week start. You sure have a lot going on at your house. I’ve moved13. I purged while packing, MT your doing great. Weather is warming up your way so can get in some good walks. Jan how exciting having your daughter stay. Great your down. Susan wow you also have a lot going on. Staying same great. I got to Seattle yesterday. Flight was full - I swear seats are getting smaller / also a new bathroom in front of economy-so smalll I barely fit. im still trying to get eating back in control - hopefully the cruise will help (no candy on cruise). Yesterday walked from Hotel to Pike Place. 5 short blocks. Lots of businesses closed . Lots of street characters- never felt unsafe. Will probably take a walk before cruise. check out of room by 11 - cruise has a hospitality room at the hotel and will take us to ship at 3:30. Starting to get excited.
  17. Beautiful weather this weekend. Can tell it’s warmer weather. I have had to step over copperhead snakes on daily walk on trails. They are poisonous but not aggressive- my experience is will bite a dog if the dog gets in their face or if they’re stepped on. Walked 2 miles this morning in neighborhood. Going to plant 2 rose bushes in front flowerbeds. im getting excited, leave Thursday for cruise. Leave out of Seattle and cruise around PUGET sound. All outdoorsy activities. Belle so glad you’re back. I think it is easier to eat better on a cruise. Easy to incorporate activities even if just walking the decks and using stairs - I don’t bring. Candy nor will I buy any on the cruise - sweets in buffets don’t taste right so not as tempted. I think we all got spoiled during Covid when everyone was isolated. This board was very busy. I also miss some of the regulars. JO just drop a quick hi so we know you are all right. JAN how are you?
  18. Belle absolutely need to continue. I still haven’t gotten back on track. Working on stressors rather than wt at this time. Jazzper is doing okay but definitely slowing down descent am walks but sleeps all day and down to short walks in evening - so I have to walk inside dog park (Jazzper just sits and count my laps ) — needed new garage door open, keypad and springs Then to top all that got a letter from a collection agency concerning a medical bill - assume it was the ambulance bill that was never sent to Medicare. until I can clear my mind I don’t think my sugar cravings will go away or at least be manageable. clothes still fit BUT won’t for much longer.
  19. Belle thanks for starting this week. I’ve not weighed - I’ve been awful —sugar cravings are out of control. I’m working on getting back to an acceptable routine. I have no excuses. Jazzper did very well with having teeth cleaned and multiple extractions. MT you live in southern Wi - I lived in Platteville (sw corner WI) for 6 years 1975-1981 happy for those who lost

  21. Good morning everyone. I’m down 1 lb since getting more restrictive on calorie count. Chilly this morning at 60, was high 80’s Monday. going to start walking alone. There is a young squirrel near my house at neighborhood pool who likes to tease my dog. I’m afraid to let Jazzper off leash because he can wiggle through fence bars to enter pool area. Squirrel was on fence railing this morning about 3 feet from me chattering. He’s cute but not good for walking. I’m sure I could get the squirrel to eat out of my hand (that would be asking for trouble for me and the squirrel). raining next few days.
  22. I’m on my 3rd day of being good. Cut calories down to 1000. Most significantly I’ve not eaten a cookie , candy or other concentrated sweet in 3 days. Not hungry and not really missing the sweets.

True peace welcome - Rocky Mountains are my favorite place fell in love with Breckenridge 33 years ago - can’t afford but did the next best thing moved into a subdivision called Breckenridge Forest. It’s okay you don’t have a scale. Just let us know if you sticking with you plan ie eating right foods and moving . Maybe take measurements .. Find some way so you can see improvement. With scales I can see my status and wether I’m treading back up.
  24. Susan wow 30 cruises- I might reach that as a lifetime total of cruises. Were they mainly a few b2b2b etc. 17 lbs not too bad. Yes we sneed this site to keep an eye on the numbers — hopefully keeping small gains we can correct. im feeling better. Jazzper/dog now on a heart medication (murmur and enlarged atrium probably mitral valve issues) been 3 days and I think he feels better. Will limit cruises until he crosses the rainbow bridge — his sitters have moved to Oregon.
  25. Good morning. I hope everyone is doing well. Spring is here. Time to get more active and enjoy the nice weather. im eating a little better still stressing. Not consistently weighing it only stresses me more. MYmajor stressors are getting under control. I had a May 5 cruise that got cancelled BUT I was offered date changes, room upgrades, and compensation for any incurred change fees. I came out a winner. The other stressor is my 15 year old dog who has started slowing down and ended up at emergency vet. That has turned out well he was started on medications which I think make him feel better. I will have to add more walks for just me since I don’t want to hurt him. it would be nice for all of you who just read our posts would say hi. I find the support and encouragement helpful and the accountability of weighing and telling someone helped me lose 100 lbs. and now help me maintain it.
