  1. The internet does not SAY anything, people say/post things. I can tell you an absolute fact that the ones serving coke now are the ones that have switched over. What difference does it make anyway? Are you going to book a cruise based on something silly like which soft drinks are being served?
  2. POOpouri, gross I do not want my cabin smelling like poo. I would consider POTPouri but probably not.though.
  3. One can "claim" anything. That does not mean it would do you any good.
  4. It is easier just to put each person's stuff on its own shelf. Simply folding things and stacking them neatly makes for very organized storage! 🙂 That way I don't have to pull a cube off of the shelf, dig through the cube to get what I want, then straighten out the cube contents to keep it organized before finally putting the cube back on the shelf. I just reach onto the shelf and grab what i want.
  5. There are also many who think they know a lot more than they actually do or that they are special/better because they have been here longer than others! 🙂 🙂 🙂
  6. It is absolutely 100% correct. In your case the TA booked the cruise directly as you and not the standard TA booking. I am always able to get a much better price booking on my own, often by thousands of dollars. You just have to know the ropes. Of course you get the perks that are standard. and the very few additional. Going through a TA you might be able to get a few bucks extra OBC but it is not worth the hassle of playing phone tag to get things done.
  7. It is quite possible that an overall rise in the cost of something coincides with a percent off (or any other) sale. In fact it is a common practice used to ease the transition from the old price structure to the new one For example if I were selling tires at $100 each and needed to raise the price to $150 each (for increased cost or any other reason), I might initiate the new $150 price and offer a sale of 1/3 off month or two prior to when I really wanted to initiate the price increase. Then at the time the new price really goes into effect I'd remove the sale and the then current selling price would be the desired $150 and the customers would have had the month or two to be groomed for th price increase. It actually a pretty good marketing concept.
  8. Is someone forcing you to click the link and read the thread? I didn't think so.
  9. The Joy Mexican Riviera The Haven 2-Bedroom Family Villa with Balcony Four of us Price $550.00 per person INCLUDING plus taxes/port fees, DSC, and three specialty dining for all of us.
  10. Congrats. What did you move from/to and ballpark what was your bid?
  11. The fact that it is or is not a 'real' sale is not the question. IMHO the prices on NCL are very reasonable. Unusually good, I am not sure what that means but in general, for me anyway, it is cheaper to go cruise for a week than it is to stay home. Anyway the real issue is where one can find the same or very similar vacation at the best price and what all you get for that price. In that scenario we always do best with whatever NCL has to offer. Of course your situation may vary. Shop around and see what you find that fits your vacation preferences at the best price! 🙂
  12. I -> NEVER <- would use a TA for any booking. They sometimes will be able to get you a minor add on of some sort (on board credit, etc), but with a little leg work you can almost always get as good a deal on your own. The biggest PITA is that if you ever have an issue with your booking or need to discuss it with NCL, you CANNOT do that. You HAVE TO go through the TA, wait for them to contact NCL, then they have to call you back and if the initial go round does not fully resolve things, the loop continues until it all gets settled. Basically the TA 'owns' your reservation and you cannot do ANYTHING with it without going through them.
  13. I do not know of any company that has lied to me even once.
  14. By your standards it would be a lie for a lottery to advertise that the jackpot amount is (lets say) $100,000,000 since you will more than likely have a tax liability of around 35% or 35,000,000 and thus "only" get $65,000,000 payment. Did the lottery lie and misrepresent what the prize is? They do not even disclose the tax implications anywhere. Paying the gratuities does not at all mean that the underlying package is not free. They are in fact 100% free. You are not paying the price of the package. This is exactly what they say, the package is free. As far as the 'sail fee' offer goes, the Port fees and taxes are not an NCL charge, they are charged by the port. What something means "to you" is not the question. The fact is that you do not pay the cost of the free items at all. The package is normally several hundred dollars, you pay $0 for the package, the same with the dining. The port fees and taxes as I mentioned are not an NCL charge. The cruise fare is indeed $0 (or $99 per person for that offer). All of what we are discussing is fully disclosed, noting at all is hidden. Bottom line is there is no "lie", "deception", or "misrepresentation:" going on at all. I hope you have a great cruise and enjoy your free drinks!
  15. There was no lie in that post as I pointed out in my reply. There was an assumption on the port of the person who made the port I replied to. The drink package itself is absolutely 100% free. If you would make you feel better to pay full price for it, you can simply turn down the free offer and pay. Either way, the barkeep deserves to be tipped.
  16. Whether you have the FAS drink package or not you will pay the small amount of local tax on drinks within the port and/or territorial waters of the port. It is nothing to get bent out of shape over as you are talking pennies per drink.
  17. I do not know the answer to any of this. I just wanted to tell you congrats on your wedding and that I hope you have a wonderful life together. You are welcome from behind.
  18. Tipping is 100% optional. You tip whoever you want to, whenever you want to, however much you want to. Simply hand them the tip or add it to the receipt/bill just like on land. BTW there is no customary, suggest. usual, standard amount/tip to tip.
  19. Perhaps it might be a good idea to discuss with your son's doctor?
  20. Only modification is that you only NEED one pair of shoes.
  21. "flushable" on any product is speaking directly about municipal sewer systems and NOT vacuum operated cruise ship systems.
  22. I have a friend who is a plumber. You would be amazed at the things he said he was found in human waste disposal systems that weer clogged up.
  23. I just fold my clothes and put them on them on the shelves! Everything is organized.
