I'm looking at this from a purely personal viewpoint zap, and things like afternoon tea, lectures, no live music for ballroom dancing etc wouldn't bother us at all. We enjoy lazy days reading or simply watching the ocean, leisurely meals with a bottle of wine, a drink or two in a bar before some evening entertainment and back to the cabin which has clean towels in the bathroom, we're not bothered about the turndown or chocolates on pillow. We don't ask a lot from our cruises, but if the simple things that, in our opinion make it restful and relaxing, are missing then we may as well look elsewhere. The queues of people booking future cruises will have a different reason for cruising than we do, and are also probably a tad younger too. Avril

Oh dear!! We haven't cruised since Nov 2019. and our next is Dec 2023. We were quite looking forward to it, but I'll keep reading these threads and we can decide closer to payment due date. Avril

I had a bad chest infection after my bout with 'you know what' and it can take a few days before the antibiotics feel to be working. I hope your much better for the wedding and have an enjoyable weekend. Avril

My favourite was when he told us that the deputy captain would be in command of the ship when leaving port. He explained all the complicated manoeuvres that would be made and that we were in safe hands. He then said he was speaking to us from lifeboat number 6😂 A great captain. Avril

I have to admit that there are one or two films or talks onboard that are, shall we say, 'cruise friendly'😊 Avril

Our very first nervous step into cruising was on Arcadia, and one of the talks was about the sinking of the Titanic.😲 We avoided it😬 Avril

We always travel down by coach, but not Intercruises. We use Eavesway and have the extra OBC instead. We've used them for 11 years and have never had a issue either embarking or disembarking. Avril

I agree with you Vamps. Without going into personal details, there are many reasons why mothers can't or won't breastfeed and it is up to the mother to decide what they feel is most comfortable and less stressful for her and the baby. That's what's more important. Avril

The thing that amazes me most is that it's ok to flash bums and breasts on an evening while out drinking, but frowned upon whilst using said breasts for the purpose for which they were designed. Avril

'Well, I'll go to the bottom of our stairs' is another. My mum had an odd saying too. When I'd ask what was for dinner she would always say 'a run round a chipped plate' I've never heard anyone else say that. I wonder if it's a Southern saying🤔 This thread really does bring back some old memories.😊 Avril
