  1. This is a new and interesting development. I prefer Le Grand Bistro's menu to Le Petit Chef and the cheesy animations.
  2. I doubt "Dinner on the Edge" has been made available for booking yet nor do I think Le Petit Chef is sold out a year in advance. I would wait until X offers a Flash Sale on your itinerary and book then. Most likely there will be a good sale around Black Friday or Cyber Monday. I'm sailing Apex in 60 days and all the specialty restaurants have at least some times still available. Rooftop Garden Grill is mostly sold out on my cruise but that's because X has been discounting it so heavily for the last year. There are still a few late reservation time slots available. This also doesn't take into account time slots held back for bookings that can only be done on the ship. Relax, you're worrying too much about this too early.
  3. From the FAQ's: How much can you hand carry? A twelve pack of soda or seltzer? A case of water or soda? You and your significant other carrying a couple cases apiece?
  4. If you're willing to pay Le Grand Bistro is open for lunch, $30 per person + 20% gratuity. It's a nice way to start the cruise in a nice calm, relaxed manner without the hustle and bustle of Oceanview Café on embarkation day.
  5. Not my pictures but someone previously posted these.
  6. My Fall transatlantic cruise on Apex went up 245% from the price I paid when X first announced the updated itinerary so I guess there won't be a refund or OBC for me.
  7. I don't have firsthand experience with this yet ( I have a cruise booked next year for myself and the second person "TBD" who will be no-showing ) but my understanding is that X will refund the port fees and taxes post-cruise after the second occupant no shows. I don't know what would happen if you call to inform them a couple weeks pre-cruise that the second passenger won't be able to make it because of "reasons." Some people on here argued that X will re-price the cabin to the current single occupancy rate but I seriously doubt that would happen.
  8. I've seen the WiFi price vary from $13.99 per device per day (pdpd) to $29.99 pdpd. I've seen the Premium Beverage Package priced at $49.99 per person per day to $105 pppd. You have to keep an eye out for a good flash sale for your particular cruise. The price is constantly changing. If you find a good price book it. If a better price comes along you can always cancel and rebook at the better price.
  9. I also booked my next cruise in Concierge (normally I book inside cabins) because my 10 Night cruise (105 pts for solo + Go Green) will push me over the Elite Captain's Club status and the price difference was worth it for me. As far as the other benefits I don't really value them very much. I suppose it will be nice to avoid the crowd in Ocean View Café on embarkation day. I don't care about the daily canapés.
  10. It will also depend on how well the cruise is selling. If the ship is nearly full don't expect a price drop. If there are dozens of lower category staterooms still available then you might see some price movement to fill the ship. If the non-suite categories are almost sold out but there are a number of suites still available don't look for a price drop since they can fill those with move-up bids if they can't sell them at retail prices. The other problem with waiting until final payment is you're stuck with mostly poor locations if anything is available.
  11. I was able to use iMessage on my last cruise even though I didn't have any Internet package. I was on a port intensive West Coast repositioning cruise and planned to just use cellular service while in port. I suspect that the shipboard IT personnel had misconfigured the firewall and allowed traffic to pass on ports other than 80. I wouldn't count on having that access in the future. That said I was able to send and receive iMessage texts without delay.
  12. Silhouette has been revolutionized.
  13. One other thing to be aware of — did you purchase a "Specialty Dining Package 3 Nights" or a "Specialty Restaurant Trio"? The first includes three dinners whereas the second includes two dinners and a lunch.
  14. It includes all specialty restaurants onboard, Rooftop Garden Grill, Eden, Fine Cut Steakhouse and Le Petit Chef and Friends. The tasting menus I believe are an upcharge to the package. There should be the "fine print" that reads something like this:
  15. I was able to book a 10 Southern Caribbean ABC cruise on Silhouette next April in Prime Concierge for $1600. I qualified for a $200 military discount. The double occupancy rate is $930 so that's less than 200% surcharge and there were no restrictions on cabin selection that I could see, all categories were available to solo travelers. I went ahead and booked because I have always wanted to go the Southern Caribbean and this cruise will earn me Elite status after completion. I also took advantage of AmEx's current offer of spending $500 on CelebrityCruises.com and getting back $100 so added bonus.
  16. I voted for Eden as a must do. I have Unlimited Specialty Dining on an upcoming cruise on Apex and plan on going there at least 4 times. I would pass on Dinner on the Edge at Magic Carpet. It's too weather dependent and requires you to be stationary to get out of the wind and properly enjoy dinner.
  17. I ate at Eden on Beyond three times during my previous cruise and enjoyed it each time. I think it was the best specialty dining I've had on a ship. At the time I paid $55 plus gratuity for each meal. The non-discounted price now is up to $85 per person plus 20% gratuity => $102 total per person. I bought the Unlimited Specialty Dining package for my upcoming transatlantic on Apex and plan on eating in Eden at least 4 time during the 12 nights (assuming there is space available which seems to be the case since the price is now so high reducing demand. Rooftop Garden Grill which frequently has good pre-cruise discounts is almost sold out in contrast)
  18. As much as you can stuff in a Celebrity Laundry Bag, figure at least a weeks worth of clothes depending on how bulky your clothes are.
  19. The best I saw was $47.99 per day plus 20% gratuity last Thanksgiving for my Fall 2024 transatlantic cruise which came out to $690.96.
  20. Yes, per person so double it for a couple. I'm a solo passenger so that's what I paid.
  21. The "lunch only on sea days" has been in the terms and conditions at least since December 2023 when I booked unlimited specialty for my upcoming Transatlantic cruise. That includes 12 dinners and lunch for 9 sea days. I paid $520 + gratuity for all those meals which works out to 12 dinners at $33 each and 9 lunches at $14 each so quite a bargain for me.
  22. 23. I'm a solo traveler and I frequently can get a regular cabin and pay 200% solo supplement and it's still cheaper than the few solo cabins that are available.
  24. I was responding to @drakes2's comment but I understand your point. I, in fact, did exactly that for my cruise on Beyond, I went through the Captain's Club representative and told them I wanted a particular Deluxe Inside cabin and paid for the I2 cabin cost in Aug. 2022. I'm just wondering if that policy has changed since then.
