I'm sailing the fall transatlantic sailing back from England to Florida. I sure hope they have any stabilizer issues resolved by then.

Here we go again... LIVE from Beyond, February 19, 2024
dreamer321 replied to mac_tlc's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I was on Reflection in December 2023 and they had a Solo Meet and Greet in Cellar Masters on embarkation day around 5:00 pm. There were about a dozen people there and one of the staff was there initially but she left within a half hour. There were no other organized solo activities offered. They don't make much of an effort for solo sailors and with the recent excessive solo supplements being charged on many cruises, it looks like Celebrity doesn't value solo passengers at all. -
Celebrity Reflection Unlimited dining package
dreamer321 replied to carrie5397's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Most likely The Porch and Sushi on Five will be open most days. By the way, read the terms and conditions of Unlimited Dining Package. I believe it includes lunch only on sea days. -
The Restaurant doesn't have outside dining. The Eden Café for breakfast or lunch does have outside dining (weather permitting).

Discounted laundry bag for "Select" tier
dreamer321 replied to Travelling2Some's topic in Celebrity Cruises
If you still have time before your cruise, watch for a flash sale. I'm only Classic but was able to get One Bag of Laundry Wash and Fold for $35.99 during a flash sale, regularly priced at $59.99. -
You lose the entire cruise fare of the second phantom passenger, the only thing that is refunded are Port Fees and taxes. All Included has always been a terrible deal for solo passengers. You're better off booking Cruise-Only then booking WiFi and Beverage packages when they go on sale during a flash sale. (if you drink enough to justify a beverage package)

Quick review, APEX Western Caribbean, 03 Feb - 10 Feb 2024
dreamer321 replied to psternklar's topic in Celebrity Cruises
If anyone on a recent Apex cruise still has the Daily Planners would you mind posting scans/photo of them. Thanks. -
The Beverage package prices change all the time. I would wait for a flash sale. I was able to get the premium beverage package for $47.99 per day plus 20% gratuity during the pre-Black Friday flash sale. I have since canceled it because I decided that I don't drink enough to even justify that per diem. Remember, if you book a package then find a better price later you can always cancel and re-buy the package at the cheaper sale price.

I thought I read that they were going to adjust the solo fares back to 200% supplements for most cruises by the end of the month but I just picked a cruise similar to one I took on Beyond in January 2023 to see what what happening now and the total double occupancy price for 2 people including port taxes and fees (deluxe inside cabin) is $2400 for a one week Eastern Caribbean cruise on Beyond. Exact same cabin and date for a solo sailor is $3242 including port fees and taxes. I'm not going to pay $842 more than a couple for the exact same product. So much for the roll-backs. By the way, I paid $1322 last January for a similarly located Deluxe Inside Cabin (cruise only) for the same Eastern Caribbean itinerary when they had a no-solo-supplement promotion going in the summer of 2022. Ah, good times.

I also was on Reflection in December. (3rd – 9th) Le Petit Chef served Filet and Lobster on the last two nights of the cruise. I had both when I was there, they are happy to serve them together as surf and turf with no up-charge. It seemed most of the other diners that I could see did this as well. As far as Equinox, look at the current sailing for Equinox to see the menus.

I'm sailing the Apex transatlantic in the fall then nothing booked after that. I am seriously considering a Norwegian coastal cruise with Havila Voyages for a completely different cruise experience. I'm also looking at Windstar Cruises and Holland America Line. I'm a solo sailor and Celebrity's pricing for solos is appalling. Windstar has a huge list of cruises with little or no solo supplement. HAL is charging less than 100% supplement. I just looked at my Apex transatlantic and if I were to book it today they would charge me ($2872) $974 more than the total a couple would pay ($949 per person) for the same cabin.

It's also possible you had RSV virus which they don't normally test for. Similar symptoms to COVID-19. I just had RSV the week before Christmas and thought the symptoms including lung congestion and runny nose were worse than when I had COVID last year. I passed it on to some family members since I kept testing for COVID but kept getting negative test results. That led me to believe I just had a common cold. It was only when my 90 year mother got it and got tested did I realize it was RSV.

Yeah, I just priced out a 7 night Caribbean cruise aboard Apex a a solo and as a couple. The cruise only base solo fare was $194 more for the exact same cabin. I'm not looking to book right now but if I was I would be taking along a phantom friend who had something come up at the last minute.

I sailed both ships within the last year. While Reflection was nice I really loved Beyond. I've also done a short 4 day cruise on Summit and would rather sail for at least 7 days. More opportunities for specialty dining if you're interested, more variety of shows and I loved the relaxation of sea days. If you've always done short cruises in the past give a seven day cruise a try, you might find you'll really like it. If you don't then in the future you can go back to short cruises.

Does Lobster Night still exist?
dreamer321 replied to ChicagoCruiser2007's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I just got back from a six night cruise on Reflection. They served Lobster on night 5, the last sea day. Dress code was Elegant Chic. -
I just booked this for my Fall `24 APEX Transatlantic cruise. I'm not sure I'll keep it but this locks in the 30% discount. I can always change my mind for a full refund.

Sure she did, Reflection when talking about CoCo Key, Silhouette and Eclipse when talking about Europe.

Me too, just watched the latest deployment presentation.

Thanks for the great live review. I’ll be boarding after you get off. I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll try to post something on a new thread to keep the Reflection adventures going. -

Skagway - White Pass railway excursions - which one?
dreamer321 replied to PennStateMom's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I took the bus up to Fraser then the WP&YR railroad back down. I booked it through a Chilkoot Tours. I wanted to take the tour that goes past Lake Bennet all the way to Carcross in Yukon Territory but I was a week early and it hadn't opened yet. I'll have to save that one for the next time I'm in Skagway. As other have pointed out, you get two different views of the canyon as well as a chance to stop to take picture on the bus. -
Not the Ascent but I was on Beyond in inside cabin 11177 Deluxe Inside Stateroom. Here are a few pictures I took: Hope that helps.
