  1. A dozen too many.. Love Viking for only two reasons, No kids and an amazing spa pool.
  2. Yes can't count on O. Must go earlier and now they have made it easier to do so by not charging for deviation for a couple of days ahead, as long as you let them know before 90 days and accept what they give you.
  3. Have done 4 cruises since 2020. 3 on O. The first one in Nov of 2022, out of 8 trivia teammates, we were the only ones that did not get covid. Wore no masks. Only difference was, they did bus tours, we walked. Next one Jan 2023, some got covid from our team, they were part of a bridge team...we wore no masks. No covid for us on any of our cruises. Only have the mandatory 2 shots and one booster. In May, not on a cruise, got a severe case of covid. Sick for a month. Have no clue where I picked it up. No one else in family had it, nor did anyone get it from me. I don't plan to get anymore shots nor will I be wearing masks.
  4. We are in the same boat, elite on celeb with over 50 cruises... Now looking forward to our 6th in Sept on the Regatta.
  5. Our agent is not part of virtuoso...I will ask what they ARE a part of.
  6. This is very interesting information. For our November cruise our agent gave us prep grat for 7 out of the 20 days. This information shows 13 days. I will email him and ask about it. I probably know the answer, but if V is giving it, why would he not? We did not benefit from any promo.
  7. I have read on another site that there are a ton of kids as much as 15%, mostly teenagers, behaving badly. This is on the Nautica, from Barcelona to Istanbul. "many of the kids running around the ship, unsupervised. A group of kids doing cannonballs into the pool, one jumping off the jacuzzi deck. Two boys nearly mowed my 87 year old father in law down." kids on the ship are one of the reasons we left Celeb. Do you see any of that on your sailing?
  8. Your flight is tomorrow? Ours is in Nov...also with O flights and their prem econ.. We put in our pref for 2 days earlier, will see what they give us and will report back.
  9. with so many looking to sound smart, its hard to distinguish tongue in cheek from the "gotchas".
  10. Not everyone eats steak, so not so simple.
  11. We also leave ours behind.
  12. sounds delicious, if only it came it a small size...
  13. Hopefully enjoying all it has to offer.
  14. Is anyone that is posting, still on the Marina now, as the topic says?
  15. Obviously this must cause havoc with private tours. We used to do only private tours pre covid, now with all the variables we only do ship's.
  16. I really like what you said above. For Canadians, there is no competition with our airlines, take it or leave it. The prices are outrageous. Therefore Os price is something we cannot get on our own, especially when you throw in PE into the mix. O is charging only 149 pp for it. This is for November, flying into BCN 2 days earlier so that the mess O may give us could be manageable. We submitted our reasonable preference to our TA. Will see what O does with it. NO way do we want to pay an extra 500CAD for custom air and at that point we will be 7 cruises away from the 15 to get the deviation included. I will be posting what O gives us. Yes Seabourn is doing it right.
  17. I don't need your clues. I have experienced it for myself, hence my complaints about some of the food choices on O and how things changed when staff changed. My complaining ended after sailing on Viking star.
  18. This topic is First impressions of Oceania. It has morphed into something unrecognizable. I take some of the blame for that. Even though it is off topic I must add that the only way I can rationalize why this Viking experience was awful is that many on this cruise were using up covid credits. Our cruise was almost free. The ship was two-thirds full. Perhaps things were cut back. This happened to us with Azamara as well. Our first Azamara was amazing. The second Azamara was very bad. Many on the second one were there because of a deep resident discount. Maitre d' let us know that things were drastically cut back. To me that is certainly a possibility for the inconsistencies that may occur.
  19. And you chose to read those posts over and over again and to interpret them to your liking, just as someone else thought I was referring to decor when talking about the lack of fresh air mid ship, pool area aboard the Viking Star.
  20. it is NOT the decor that I am referring to....when the retractable roof is not open, it is very hot in the area that houses the books, the outdoor chairs, the pool etc....the area becomes not usable... no matter how many times passengers asked, it was kept closed....weather was beautiful...crossing the ocean on the way to BCN.... one more thing, we had an hour and a half in Madeira...that was our only stop...we knew this was the only stop but certainly hoped for more than 1.5 hours... I have said all this before... just such a different experience from the poster that loved everything about V, wish we could have said the same...we loved the spa, open to all...we loved NO kids... good service.....but that is about it...
  21. If you had been on our Viking sailing in April, you would also not believe her. We and many others ate a lot of pizza since so much of everything else was not edible. The dining room staff kept saying how sorry they were when many sent their onion soup back, ice cream that had no cream, just water, etc.etc.etc. Food was only one complaint. The mid ship area, pool, winter garden...requested numerous times to open roof...since that would slow ships movement , more fuel is needed. It was constantly closed, hot and stuffy and as a result not usable, except for tea late aft. Those that were ok with the food, consumed large amounts of included wine or had not sailed other lines. We did 2 V cruises after we could no longer tolerate celebrity and we liked it. That was pre covid and pre O. This last one was in April and after 5, O cruises. No comparison. If food on O also does meet our expectations, I will be the first to say so and have complained in the past but that was before the latest V experience.
