  1. What you didn't understand is that that's all there was, salt and pepper.
  2. In the Terrace I always ask for seasonings on my steak..they say all they have is salt...I tell them to pour that on and pepper if they can find it or it is way too bland for me.
  3. It seems to me there is always Indian food in the Terrace, don't like the stuff but that's just me.
  4. Love American, thank you.No Indian for us but will miss sole Amandine and crepes.
  5. I think everyone knows why we like 0. Someone actually counted my posts to be 60 saying why we prefer O to celeb and Viking.
  6. Our air to bcn is at least double than what O is charging us..also we are paying only 149 for prem econ... Going 2 days early, in case of snags. So why would I pay more to do it myself?
  7. Nope, never, on any line. But have paid for an up sell.
  8. It also depends on what sailing experiences you have had, where you have been and your stage in life. We have experienced various lines, done over 60 cruises, been everywhere we wished to go. Highlights being, Gallapagos, Norway, Dalmatian coast, Hawaii, Baltic etc. Our focus is very different now, not itinerary driven, but food, the ambience, meeting people. So far this Oceania has done this for us more than any line and we hope it continues to do so. There are times that we will not get off in some ports...there are other times that we will revisit the places we have been to before. Now rarely doing tours. Love to get a map, walk for hours, explore.
  9. Yes I agree, the spa area was very good. But for us other things are more important and they did not compare to O.
  10. Yes we experienced that after over 50 cruises with celebrity...things changed and we could no longer sail C. But Celbrities loyalty program is NOTHING compared to O.
  11. Good topic. We are building loyalty with O. No other line will give us that. We have 10 cruises booked. After that, only if Os food take a drastic turn would we switch to another line.
  12. Food is most important to us. Which line would compare to O?
  13. Yes always meaning for our last 3 cruises. O makes it sound like something new is coming. It is not new. Yes a very good change, so is no charge for deviation if you want to come in a day or two early. This allows for less stress making the ship. Crazy times with airlines. Although once we reach 15, that will be included anyway.
  14. Correction...transfers have always been included since we have done our 3 cruises this year, so it's not new.
  15. And I will continue to express my opinions, that is my choice. You have a choice too. I'm sure you know what that is. Counting my posts? I'm flattered. Thank you.
  16. We were on the Viking Star in April. There is NO comparison between Viking and Oceania. We used up covid credits. While waiting to do that we have done 3 Oceania cruises. Now it is our line of choice. Yes on Viking every meal the wine is included. You need lots of it, so you can manage to eat the awful food. We don't drink alcohol, so we were very aware how trully awful the food was. Entertainment, only the ships staff. One trivia daily. Pretty much nothing else to do. Die hard Viking fans thought it was OK but none of them had ever sailed on O. Our only regret is that we spent many years on other lines before coming to O.
  17. Azamaras food does not compare to Os. Not to us. As for the new olife will include transfers with air, it always included transfers, so that's NOT new.
  18. Food not nearly as good and that is most important to us.
  19. Azamara does not compare to O. Have done 2 on AZ, will not do more.
  20. all I can say is wow.... nothing in this for us...we dont drink wine....we dont do tours. especially not in the carib.....have been to most places... I can see how O wants to attract a different clientele. With that the atmosphere will change. More liquor consumption for sure. As long as the food is as good as it has been, we are still big fans of O. with 10 future cruises booked, I am not concerned...
  21. Even on the same ship things can change. We were on the Marina, 18 day. Amazing desserts in Terrace Cafe. After the first 10 days they became not edible. The pastry chef was replaced by another. Consistency is important, no matter who the chefs are.
  22. Viking Ocean, not river, they are different. So how did you compare the two? Our observation also was that those who were drinking several glasses of wine with their meals didn't find the food quite as objectionable as we did. For us and a couple we befriended, the food was dreadful in all venues. Our acquaintances sent back several meals, one was a chunk of fat, disguised as some kind of roast. We stuck to mostly salad and bread. But again many found the food ok. The common denominator for them was wine included with every meal. We hope that if O begins to include liquor with meals, they do not lower the quality of the meals, as this may affect how the meals are perceived, especially after a finished bottle of wine. We left all other cruise lines in the dust for "the best food at sea". So far we have not been disappointed.
  23. dont compare O to Viking if you have NOT been on O and only if you have been on both recently...because things have changed....
