  1. yes I am on roll call.....flying with V, using AC, flying on the day of the cruise, a 6:15 flight....into FLL....
  2. we are on that as well...and from toronto too....
  3. When travelling solo, I would think you would find a smaller ship cozy and comfortable. The Insignia is just that. Staff is friendly and accommodating.
  4. the trying is getting more trying every day.....
  5. strange comment...other things are not there for us to take.....the wine is!
  6. You should be able to get 5% off each leg, but if there is a promo, you either get the promo or the 5%..which doesnt seem fair...really negates the promo.... there are so many things that are not combinable....you gain in one way, lose in another....so every gain you see, may only be an illusion....
  7. We do not drink ANY wine. So it could be the best, we would not know it. I do enjoy sweet liquors and so it is not because of the alcohol content...just dont like the taste of wine..to me they are all vinegar like.
  8. As I have said many times here, we are escapees from C. We are doing our best to get to the meaningful loyalty levels on O, With C we were Elite plus, but that basically gets you nothing that is not already included on O. We will be doing our 6th on O in Sept to Alaska. We do almost all of the ports on our own, walk around, get lost, use maps and enjoy the adventure. In Alaska we will be doing one tour, to hopefully see some whales, but maybe in Sept that is doubtful. We love transatlantics where we get to enjoy a mix of ports and time on the ship which we love. Meeting people, doing the activities, lectures and the leisurely dining with mostly good food. In the past on C it was all about organizing private tours in each port. Now things have changed, many private providers are no longer in business. The port schedules are now very fluent, depending on weather, politics etc, so many times port times are changed or cancelled all together. The other concern is health. Seems that many doing tours, are catching the flu etc. Over the years we have done many of the ports we are now revisiting. It is fun to do them on our own and I really I dont remember all the information given to us. The best tours are participatory, rather than drive bys or listening to commentary. Enjoy O, the small ambiance cant be beat.
  9. our experience has been that add the air when booking and cancel later if you dont need it...
  10. our agent cant figure out how to get out of a paper bag.... so this is far too difficult for this agency...yeah I am mad....
  11. thanks for this.... here is my email johthomas100z at gmail dot com yes h instead of n.....
  12. I have no experience with bus class , but found it much cheaper to have O do your air, with premium economy and they include transfers.....from Canada....
  13. we were out of miami in jan, a 10 day carib, a variety of ages.... but on a Transatlantic, not only very elderly but many from Germany, not speaking English, so the vibe was different.....
  14. we are booked for Nov 2023....so it will be same "old" but also for Sept 22, 2024...so hope for that one it will be refitted.....
  15. No matter what our agent tried to do , Oceania would not add the Promo to an existing cruise, claiming it is for new bookings only. So I am really puzzled how some agents are able to get O to do this and others not.
  16. So there is really no answer as to where or how much of our automatic gratuities go to these hard working people and at whose discretion.
  17. it is much quieter, but we also love that.... NO steel bands by the pool....
  18. Yes it is a very odd question. And of course a much lighter topic. Hopefully will give all of you a giggle or two. We are NOT wine drinkers. So we wait till we meet some folks and then give it away. Or we bring it to dinner that we may be sharing with others. In this case, a couple of times, we had to take it back to the stateroom as no one wanted it. lol.... On one cruise , for some reason, we had three bottles, champagne and two wines. I enquired at guest relations what to do with them, was told, just leave it in the cabin. Couldnt give it away to anyone in our trivia group, they were all non drinkers. So we did leave it in our cabin. Yes Im sure many of you are laughing or are confused. Maybe on the roll call , I could post that I am open to a trade of sorts....now there is an idea, any others?
  19. We found that for the TA crossings , there were more Europeans and an older clientele. In the carib, mostly North Americans and younger. The stats on our recent Riviera cruise in the beginning of Jan were, largest group were American, second was Canadian.
  20. jan, I have made a note of that.... we will be in a balcony for this one , in 6055 and then for the second leg LA to LA in an inside G, guarantee....
  21. I shouldnt have forgotten the Sirena...we just booked a 21 day, back to back for Feb 8, 2025. Will enjoy the Carib away from our winter. And it will be our 14 cruise by then. Must also add that one of our best cruises pre covid was on the little Insignia. Best food, best ambiance. Staff were like our best friends by end of cruise. I see some of them on the other ships and we still remember each other. Cant say that about Celebrity, unless it is a bad memory.
