  3. This is our first time as well. You only got 252 CAD from them, but it is 250 US, for 22 days....for 14 days it is only 100. Well we will have to bring with us the confirmation in writing, or we will have a tough time getting it. Leaving on Nov 16, this wed, allowing 2 extra days to get there. Have been watching the planes at Pearson. They have been consistently late by 2 hours. Awful. Yeah a whole other topic.
  4. Yes we have that for other cruises where we got 300 OBC for booking within the 30 day rule, but NOTHING for the NCL shareholder benefit. The O rep says it is added only after you are on the ship. Thank you for your efforts, it is much appreciated. But as you can see, NCL is inconsistent in doing this. We will see if anyone else posts anything.
  5. Where does it appear in the account? IN the cart? We have nothing there. Tried to book a tour, says your cart is empty. I have the O letter and the TAs letter saying we have 250 but nothing in the account. O rep says , some SBCs only appear once you are ON the cruise. Seems this differs from client to client. Not consistent.
  6. where does it appear on the booked cruise? We have 250 for a cruise for Nov 19, next week and there is nothing in the account.....
  7. By the time we are on the ship, the tours we want may be gone. Then having the SBCs is not as useful. Paying for tours is the number one reason to have SBCs for us.
  8. Thank you, I now have my answer, but LHT said to talk to Destinations and reverse the charges for booked tours at home, use the SBCs instead of paying with Visa. Not sure how you would do that.
  9. I have booked them now. Will Destinations credit my Visa when I sub the SBCs for it?
  10. I think I have the answer to my own question. Not all SBCs are treated the same. The NCL , SBCs only appear once you are on the ship. Can be used only on the ship. By then the tours you wish to book may be gone. Too bad it is like that.
  11. So I have received notification from NCL that they have given me the OBCs, but I dont see it in my cruise account and therefore cant use it to secure tours. Whats to be done next? Yes talked to an O rep. They dont seem to know how to make that happen. They keep repeating to send in the form and add the reservation number of the cruise to apply it to. Done that but nothing in the account. Anyone know how to solve this?
  12. Yes all prior to final payment. Our TA would do nothing for us when the sale came around. Have now switched TAs.
  13. Will keep that in mind, cat has to be available....lol...thank you for the advice and the humour.....
  14. I thought this was very valuable advice...so copied and pasted it here, giving credit to the poster... Flatbush Flyer 15.4k January 27, 2014 Point Richmond CA #107 Posted Sunday at 09:30 PM No “power” needed. 1. Book Onboard (months prior to any future O holiday sale, which we know from experience will be coming). Of course, this would be harder if we’re talking about someone booking their first O cruise. However, it is possible to have a friend or family member do a “book onboard” for you 2. Transfer to TA during the allowable 30 day window). 3. When O sale happens, have TA exercise your original Book Onboard “lower price match guarantee” (if price is actually lower and there’s cabin availability). But, don’t forget to do the math on any changes in air/air credit $ and/or O Life perks.
  15. yes you made it clear... we will also be on board..but by then we will have turned it over to an on line agent..so it will have to be done through them, I would think....that makes it more complicated...but someone gave very good advice to use Os price guarantee....to rebook with the sale offerings... but there are experts here who are way more in tune with the workings of O, maybe they will offer some of their advice.... we are relatively new to O...have done over 50 with Celeb and finally called it quits...wish we had done it sooner as O has an amazing loyalty program....as soon as we hit 5 cruises with them, we will begin to reap the rewards of that program....
  16. I would think booking on board should have nothing to do with the sale, but you never know. Has anyone here ever booked on board during a sale?
  17. I know nothing at this point, but it is fun anticipating it. We have 4 cruises that could benefit from this sale, so I hope it is a good one. In the past several years it was an upgrade sale and not on all sailings.
  18. Hey its coming. We have 4 new cruises just booked recently. The O rep said it should be no problem to get the sale applied to them. We will see as we now are turning them over to a TA. NO not the TA I had last time, who would not even consider doing anything for us in regards to the sale. So will see how we can benefit this time. We will be on the Marina when this sale happens, so will have to communicate with our TA from the cruise, just adding another wrinkle to it. Share your stories with this sale as we wait for the next one.
  19. you did really well....glad to see it... as for us...our TA would not even entertain the idea of trying to figure out how to do that for us on the booked cruises we had...so could not benefit in any way...now with 4 new cruises booked and a different TA we will see what can be done.... I think I will post a new topic for this.....so please contribute to it....we will see how it all shakes out...
  20. We booked two. Yes with an O rep first and now will turn it over. The O rep was able to snatch the last French balcony on a 22 day TA. But it is a wheel chair accessible cabin. I dont want that. Im sure someone else may need it. So now will see if there is a sale on Black Friday, to see if I can go up a few cats. I think O did very well on opening day.
  21. We have used an amazing O rep to book all of our cruises. He makes sure everything is right. Then I use the 30 days to turn it over to an agent that will give me additional obcs and a rebate. I like this system as the O rep is very knowledgeable and always has our best interest. I email him and arrange a time when he can call and get all this done by phone. He usually preps it all just from the email and then holds for a week, while we make sure all is in order. He has told me many times that there is NO loss to him when I turn it over to an agent.
  22. I see. Well then that is why there is no document for the 300. A while ago, on the ship they also said the rule would apply within 30 days of returning home. I tried to apply it and was told the rule NEVER existed by some experts here. I named the Ambassador (sales rep) on the Riviera that told us that. I was then told is that rep was spoken to and told not to give out that information. Seems a lot of information is done somewhat secretly. When you challenge it, you are given the same old line, " it was a temporary promotion". Making you feel like you are making up something that does not exist. I promised that I would from now on get these things in writing from the Ambassadors on the ship. They are saying one thing and management is then saying something else.
  23. Thank you for posting that. Guess if you are now in the 30 days before zone, you should take advantage of it.
  24. We booked an Alaska and a Med cruise with an O rep, last week....we got 200 off price per person, reduced deposit of 250pp and 150pp OBC for each of them, since we are sailing on Nov 19.... We have 30 days to turn it over to an agent for further benefits.... Once on the ship, there are leaflets that describe the benefits of booking on board. This may warrant posting a separate topic, someone may come up with the definitive doc.
