  1. We have done that itinerary many times. To get away from our Canadian winters we welcome Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire as well as ST Vincent, etc. We dont welcome, Mexico, Roatan and Jamaica. You cant substitute these ports for what the 14 day offered and call it equal. The itinerary is just not comparable. Yes maybe wise to hold off till the Black Friday specials...but if memory serves me correctly, there really is nothing special about them.
  2. Yes plenty of notice. So they are offering us an inferior itinerary and saying "As a courtesy, we will be automatically adjusting your booking on Vista’s 12-day "... as a courtesy....offering us a 12 day instead of 14 day and saying they will make the 2 day adjustment, as a courtesy....there is NO courtesy, it is a shorter cruise!!!
  3. Dear Valued Travel Advisors, We would like to provide you with an advance copy of the notification that will be going out to all guests later today. We kindly request that you reach out to them today to ensure that they are aware of these important changes. VOYAGE CHANGE NOTIFICATION Dear Valued Guests, We would like to advise you of an important update to your upcoming cruise vacation aboard Vista. As a result of scheduling changes, your 14-day voyage departing on December 5, 2024, has been revised to a 12-day voyage. As a courtesy, we will be automatically adjusting your booking on Vista’s 12-day roundtrip Miami itinerary departing on December 5, 2024, at a new lower fare reflecting the revised voyage length. You will receive an updated invoice once these changes are processed. In appreciation for your understanding of this change, we will be providing a $250 shipboard credit per suite or stateroom, which will be automatically added to your onboard account. The revised voyage will explore the best of the Western Caribbean, complemented by calls on the Cayman Islands, Jamaica and the Bahamas. The destinations featured afford a wide array of adventures for every traveler, from enjoying beautiful beaches and spectacular coral reefs to exploring ancient Maya sites and island spice farms. Two full days in the Yucatan Peninsula will allow for deeper cultural exploration with numerous Maya ruins or eco-adventures to some of the world’s most stunning coral reefs, rich in marine life. Likewise, Roatan offers an abundance of eco-centric tours, and from Santo Tomas, you may choose to visit the fabled and legendary Tikal. Of course, we believe our bespoke exclusive destination of Harvest Caye is a jewel in the crown of the Western Caribbean.
  4. This is the letter our TA got. Notice they say that as a "courtesy" they will refund for the two days...What courtesy? Awful !!!

  7. Our TA got advanced notice and immediately forwarded it to us.
  8. It was a great itinerary, The ABC, Grenada, St Vincent, Barbados, Dominica, Antigua and St Martin, Instead they are offering us a 12 Western Caribbean, to Mexico and Roatan and 250 OBCs and an adjustment for the 2 days. The 12 day itinerary does not compare to the ABCs...we would not get off the ship in Mexico. We will probably be cancelling. Any thoughts?
  9. Thats very disappointing that you didnt get to go to the market. We have done a private tour of Casablanca, 6 years ago. It was wonderful. But now I am not sure I would want to risk it. You were late getting back but because it is a ships tour, there was no issue with being late. I organized the private tour. There were only 20 of us, with a retired college professor as the guide. It only cost $25 pp. incredible. Still tempted to go private, but perhaps not wise.
  10. Awful and not held accountable.
  11. ah....thank you.... we are on a cruise Nov 19...so that falls within the 30 day rule to be able to book with the perks as if on the ship....hope that rule has not vanished....
  12. An O rep told me Oct 12. Well that has come and gone. Any other thoughts?
  13. Yes we will do the same or bring it to dinner when we dine with others, perhaps they will want it. I am assuming you are allowed to bring it to dinner, but maybe not.
  14. ah....ok...didnt think so....lol...
  15. I could tolerate some wine, but has to be very sweet, almost like a liqueur. Any suggestions that we might trade for? Some sparking wines are also sweet. But I have no clue which ones.
  16. We dont drink wine, can we exchange it for something else?...lol
  17. yeah you are probably right...and if yes, the topic I am sure would end pretty quickly....
  18. this sounds like a good topic on its own....without being part of "three things"
  19. I think the 24/25 will be out earlier... so you can use the 30 day pre cruising rule and get the same perks as you would by booking on board....
  20. We love meeting people and sharing a table but at our last cruise we found it almost impossible to enjoy our meals. Out of the 4 times we shared only once did we have a peaceful enjoyable meal. Controversial political opinions have become the norm in dining venues. We were given a pass since we are Canadians, but otherwise I am sure we would have been tarred and feathered since our opinions varied from the others at the table. Even discussing our Canadian situations became battle grounds. Not an enjoyable way to have a meal. So if we could not get a reservation with those of like minds, or by ourselves, we began to avoid the specialty areas. Perhaps a time will come when you are asked your political affiliations before being sat with others. ( tongue in cheek)
  21. dont miss the opportunity to book a cruise within 30 days of sailing...you get the same perks as if on Board...reduced deposit and a discount off the price...I believe it is $200pp... love this topic...thank you for creating it....
  22. looking forward to it....have a good cruise, enjoy.....
