Celebrity suspended connections parties for some months then restarted them, then suspended them and recently restarted again. To complicate matters on cruises where there was a number of covid cases on the prior cruise the party was not held. Totally suggest setting up a place and time for a sailaway and a M&G. Ask people to wear a name badge from anything.

Celebrity is a consolidator so the cheaper fares require tickets to issued later. That "cost" of doing business with a consolidator.

There can be a fee for expedited ticketing depending on the airline and the fare you booked. Not simple today.

You would need to be the judge as everyone has different taste in wine. For example we recently bought a Portuguese Red at Costco for $5 that was wonderful and a Chardonnay for $25 they my DW poured out. You also do not indicate which wine package you have or where or when you are cruising. All make a difference as today there are shortages of "imported" wines worldwide, but on a European cruise you might find excellent wines from Europe not available in the US. The only question I can answer is you certainly can go to any bar, get a glass of wine and take it to your cabin or pretty much anywhere except pool areas. In the olden days we would during the happy hour stockpile a couple glasses in our cabin before the show and have one with dinner and a second later. Last, you are allowed 2 bottles per cabin and ask your cabin attendant for a couple glasses if you like. There is certainly lots of wine on board fit for drinking and supplies are rapidly improving.

Guess a reminder when one gets their confirmation from an airline, FBC (a consolidator) or a TA to read the details CAREFULLY. One almost always has 24-48 hours to cancel with no penalties, but change fees are more and more common. The $200 charge has been in place for a while and disclosed in the confirmation papers. A thought that if there is a material change to your itinerary you can cancel for free.

I would guess that many places will stop testing. With no testing required for air travel and tests available for anywhere from free to a few dollars an antigen test makes little sense. If you have symptoms wouldn't you get a PCR tests after doing an antigen at home? No reason for a written report except for travel on a ship is there?

Hope you get your luggage. Another true story. We had a late flight so waited to be virtually last off at San Pedro. There were 2 bags in the area. One was our and one similar. The other bag from a person from Las Vegas. Port manager tried without success to contact the other person. We left with one bag. The person that took our bag eventually shipped our bag to our home. The important part - Celebrity does not operate or have anything to do with the bags once.they go into the "racks" and leave the ship. It is the responsibility of the port, but without any matching of tags, bags are often picked up by the wrong people. Not Celebrity's fault. FWIW we will always carry our own bags when leaving a cruise.

If you reprice to the new Celebrity deal then everything resets. Any OBC from your TA has zero to do with a price match- unless your fare is part of a group fare. Look at your confirmation to see if it is a group fare. If not you need to go back to your TA and probably find a new TA. It also is possible that Celebrity is taking part of the extra OBC from the TAs. They will deny this but it used to happen often.

PKB - A couple clarifications. Have not seen anything that says Emed is the most reliable company. All proctoring companies had issues with having the capacity to meet demand early this year. There are companies located in many countries. The good news is with testing not required for air travel that problem of scheduling difficulties has disappeared. It is not difficult to watch a person take an antigen test and sendxan email confirming the result. Some proctoring companies are available 24/7. That might be helpful to those outside the US. Also interestingly a UK or Canadian or Australian approved test is quite acceptable for the protoring companies and Celebrity. Just needs to be government approved. Lots of people living and traveling elsewhere. You are correct that the packaging of Covid tests makes them susceptible to damage. A bit of bubble wrap and rigid carbon are a great idea. Packing in a checked bag is not for all sorts of reasons.

The change started in March when HHS ran out of new money to pay for testing for the uninsured. Thus testing as ting sites cannot bill HHS for new claim $$ once money they were awarded in used. Does it make any sense that the government would pay for testing to pay for an elective activity? Please do not comment on the rationality covid testing. Cruises that visit Canada will require preboarding testing until Canada changes its policy no matter what Celebrity decides.

The change is for those on traditional Medicare and Medicaid as those are Federal programs. If on private insurance or Medicare Advantage, the terms of your policy apply. As of today tests can still be ordered at covid.gov/tests for free. Agree at testing for travel is certainly elective and would guess coverage will go away as of some future date. Proctoring is certainly cheap at as low as $25 for 2 people and many companies at $20pp. Again this announcement came out today - June 30th - so of course the change has not gone into effect yet. They are bringing back the events that were cancelled. Good. The MoveUp bonus of 4% sounds nice, but what in reality does it mean. Having cruise only fares return is great especially for our solo travelers.

You give your card number when you bid. You cannot change your card number - question already asked and answered - unless you cancell your bid and submit a new bid. Celebrity web site issues started long before Cruise Critic. Nothing new.

Misha - the posts in this thread are mostly from months ago. In April and May they likely were sold out as you needed a proctored test to fly. Today demand dropped by almost 98%. Truly suggest a Google search. I found 42 companies doing proctoring in the US and Canada in a few minutes. All of them are pretty much the same.

Misha go to covid.gov/tests. They will send you 8 tests to each address FREE. 2 addresses you get 16 tests. You can order every other month. Thus get today and you could get more in August. Lots easier than insurance. I have no idea why anyone would buy them thru Celebrity. If you really want to use your insurance then go to your local pharmacy and give them your insurance card. You can use at home or for cruising with a proctor service. I use Rapid Test and Trace but there are some two dozen companies. Charges range from $15-40pp. They then email you a certificate for boarding. Each proctoring company has its own rules. Rapid Test wanted 1 account for the two of us.

There are tens of thousands of changes by the airlines every DAY. FBC must check to see if the change makes a difference- most do not - then physically call the airlines to arrange for a new flight as needed. FBC is a consolidator. It then acts as a TA if it cannot find tickets in a wholesale block that work. TAs today work backwards evaluating need. People flying today need attention before those flying tomorrow. Etc. Thus your flight three weeks from now, while important to you, was pushed into the future basket. FWIW, with the chaos of flying today buying thru a consolidator is probably not a great idea. Too many changes and layers of bureaucracy unless the savings is significant. Our flight in July to Reykjavik from the US got another change today. Up to 9 so far! Our return home from New York we don't even look as lots of flights. Both booked direct - thus WE GET IMMEDIATE EMAILS.
