  1. Goodmorning everyone.  @marshhawkso sorry to hear about your kitty, had to give my two a little hug.

Our temporary deep freeze is ending here but a significant snowfall forecast for overnight.  My plans for tomorrow is to stay indoors and watch the snow and catch up on paperwork.

Still trying to decide on a new car for DW.  Was the last day of work for DS yesterday, the last year of 6 day weeks and 12 hr days was just too much for him.  Now what?

Trying to decide on a shore excurion for May in Ketchikan.  I've already spent way too much on excurions for our next two cruises, but considering a fishing trip for DW, myself, and youngest son.

    Have a great weekend everyone

  2. Thanks everyone for the Daily

@marshhawkit seems like you have some good plans for our city.  Just wish the Maritime Museum had a bit more to offer, only a small percentage of artifacts can be displayed at a given time.  Still, worth the effort to see the St Roche on display, having made the Northwest Passage.

Enjoying the day off, going to try get some projects done today.

Everyone has been getting under my skin this weekend, including myself.  Missed seeing my great nephews first hockey tournament because I messed up the time and location.  DWs BFF got to me with the usual unsolicited advice.  The topper was trying to buy the DW a new car.  Salesman got ugly and agressive, so took a walk. Lots of other dealers willing to take my money.

Have a great day everyone, looks like we have winds tonight and another deep freeze (for us) on the way

  3. Happy to see this question.  We frequently do the Alaska cruises and was wondering about ISP.  My eldest son always insists on Tracy's (last September was $95 for 2 legs and 2 beers).  This year an excursion in Juneau makes it sort of hard.  Have never had crab at ISP, so it will be worth a try for us while the others zip line.  Glad to see they have King for him, I will take the Dungeness.  Thanks everyone

  4. @JCJR we have done the Alaska cruise way too many times and yes are doing it again.  Usually the ships do a 360 near the glacier so no real need to run back and forth.  We usually go up on deck for the arrival, then at some point return to the balcony to enjoy again.

Quick tip, usually go on deck early and grab a few fleece blankets at they go fast on arrival.  Sometimes there can be a nasty outflow wind coming off the glacier.  Mostly i just walk around the observation deck until i get tired then returns to the balcony

  5. Well thw game is over, no spoilers though.  DW was going crazy and only had 2 vodka sodas, she's such a light weight.  DS unexpectedly invited a whole bunch of friends over.  Spent over half the game cooking.  Lamb Lolipops turned out so well will do them again.  Deep fried chicken wings spot on, and how can you go wrong with Costco tuxedo cake.  Was a fun evening, enjoyed what I saw of the game.  Up at the crack of dawn, good night  all, got excurions to book tomorrow

  6. Once again I give thanks for the little community we have here.

Ah the penny.  Glad we got rid of ours, now if only we could make a lighter $1 and $2 coin.  I fear after a day of shopping my pants are going to fall down.

Still exhausted from last week at work, should be all rested up by tomorrow to do it again. Speaking of accidents, last Wednesday my work day started with coming across a motorcycle vs truck.  At the same time half a block away there were multiple overdoses happening.

Have not been to Ireland but my son was in Cork and always talks about his wonderful time playing American Football there.  He was taken back by how the teams would show up at there hotel after the game and take them out on the town.

Deep into Superbowl pregame now.  Have a great day everyone, and Go Chiefs.

  7. I would also leave it for the day of.  The only time I've ever seen issues were over the Christmas season on weekend evenings when the whole property is all lit up with lights.

If its just for a suspension bridge and not all the other attractions (tree walk, glass Bridge over canyon and so on) then there is the Lynn Canyon suspension bridge about a 15 minute drive away, and its free.

  8. I really appreciate all the contributions to the Fleet Report and Daily.  Thank you everyone

@marshhawki think I'm the only one in the family who has never tried Chick fil A.  Next drive through Seattle i must try it. Will check the bag before I leave. Was planning to be there today, need to check on my RV.  Decided to postpone for a few weeks as I forgot to order some home reno stuff I need to pick up.

Going to take it easy today.  Work has been very extreme and I'm exhausted. Still loving it though.

Looking forward to Super Bowl tomorrow.  Stocked up on lots of goodies at Costco so we will all feast.  Will try make Lamb Pops for the first time. Just need some beverages.  Have a great weekend everyone

  9. Thank you for all the reports, and prayers to so many of you right now.

Was going to get some renovation materials today and DW was going to test drive a car. We both woke up with a mild bug and decided to take it easy.  Only problem is that we ran out of wet cat food and the boys are screaming at us.  Dw is off to the store now.

So the car shopping is just becoming too complicated.  I have a good idea what my DW wants and needs, but still it is too confusing.  In the end its her choice.  Managed to cross a few off the list yesterday.  Interesting is the reason she really likes one model is that it has a perfect place for her purse. Well that seems to be important to her so whatever.  Honestly her only other wants are a backup camera and no sun roof.  Easy girl to please.

On canes, a friend who has joint problems won’t use a cane, because he doesn’t want to look like an old man, which he is. Instead he uses a pair of Leko trekking poles, which he thinks make him look like a hiker. And they were expensive enough to serve his vanity, maybe.

I have a friend that uses the trekking poles exactly like that when not in his mobility scooter.  Yesterday I took him in my truck to pick up another scooter he wants to part out, he said we would have help.  Well the help was another guy in a walker, somehow the royal we, managed to get the scooter in the truck,

  11. Just looking into this now for 4 of us (would like to take our 2 sons). Had the deal booked to South America back in October but had to cancel due to a health issue.  Will make up our minds tomorrow as I got into the wine tonight. Did notice some IT issues in my initial search, price went all over the place, perhaps the wine

  12. Good question.  We are new to HAL and was wondering. Hate to say it but have not been in the pool for about the last 7 or 8 cruises but hoping to on our Alaska in April. Remember once on a NCL carribean that the pool was so hot I could barely get my feet in.

Not sure where you are getting your price from but you can book direct for the train and it is $142USD

We are doing the bus/train tour but DSIL and BF are joining us on the cruise now and they just booked though HAL for 2.5 hr trip that goes at least to Bennit BC.  Their cost was $149 through HAL. Need to look into it more, but Bennit is in the YT so it will be official.  Consider Carcross, charming stop
