Welcome!  Now that you've posted once, we hope you'll post again and again!

@kazu Glad to hear from you and the boiled egg report is encouraging.  Let's hope you can do more tomorrow.

Sue came and unloaded all her stuff.  I don't know what she was thinking.  She brought antlers and boxes of rocks.  She has so much furniture that it is being stored in the garage.  Most of it should really go out as it is in disrepair.   Then, there is all the rustic cabin in the woods stuff.  It would be fine in a rustic cabin in the woods, but not in a mid century modern home in the city.  We're going to have to talk.  She told me she got rid of most of this stuff.

I know that feeling, Mrs Lobsternight is the same.  Rocks, antlers, skulls and almost anything with perceived value.  Well she will throw out my stuff. We still have unpacked boxes from a move 22 years ago

  2. Good Morning Everyone!

Half way through packing for our NA cruise tomorrow, quite excited. Can't imagine what we will forget this time. Guess I will be off this board for a week as I will not have an internet package, but will catch up on my return.

Of course when packing my medications yesterday I could not find a refill I knew I had. Spent the better part of 2 hours searching the house.  I knew this would happen but went to the pharmacy for an emergency 10 day refill.  Within half an hour I found the supply, under clothes on the bed.  So typical.

Well the cats know something is up.  The dreaded suitcases. Fun to sit in but worrying. Wishing everyone the best

  3. I am packing now for our 30th anniversary now leaving  Vancouver to Alaska on April 30th.  Im sort of sitting on the fence with my Tux.  I would really like to wear it but just don't know.  I was a lot fatter back then, and it just does not fit well, but would love to give it one last wear.  My DW would Hate me, but I'm thinking i will.  She forbids me to buy a white dinner jacket  maybe next year.  Saw a guy last year with an epic tux, I would liketo do it for me

  4. We have done Alaska cruises with toddlers and most often they were content to walk about and see things.  I remember one time in Juneau my 3 year old was watching frozen salmon getting loaded off a fishing boat, when a frozen fish tumbled down the conveyor he was in hysterics.  Almost spent an hour there.

Yes duck tour is good.  We have never done this, but if there is an excursion you really want to go on, most lines offer port day babysitting at a reasonable cost. Just a thought

  5. Did our first aft balcony to Alaska last September and loved it.  A little more motion for sure but what a spot, very enchanting.  Only comment is that on our ship the nearest elevator bank was quite a walk away, but good way to work off all the treats.

  6. I've done 2 Alaska cruises with inside, two with Oceanview, the rest with balcony. As mentioned there is nothing wrong with spending time on deck or in a lounge looking out.  I probably make the most use of my balcony when in port.  If I'm not ashore then I'm on my balcony watching all the activity.  Worth it? Probably not.

  7. @StLouisCruisers mine is always higher at the docs.  I am back to home monitoring again.  Lost control of mine in October, had nose bleeds and at ER was 240/170 and had to change meds but its fine again

So we are a week out from our Alaska NA cruise and are so excited. In need of a real rest.  Since I'm going away everyone at work is loading me up with meetings and jobs, not to mention home renovations continue and some on the side consulting.

So wishing everyone a wonderful day, thoughts and prayers to all in need.

  8. We leave 2 weeks today on the NA out of Vancouver.  Yesterday HAL sent me a link to the Verifly App, have not filled it in yet, but it requires your photo and vaccine cards to be uploaded. I believe if we submit it now we don't have to do the health questionnaire a few days prior. Will see how that goes. I am hoping I a, a le to do it for the 3 of us traveling together as I'm the only one with a phone

  9. I belive that was our cabin last September, was partially covered.  The balconies sort of step up, so if you go to the rail and look up you will see everyone else on their balconies.  I'd say about 1/3 coverage from the deck above

We loved the aft cabin and would book again.  Only comments it that there was a bit more motion than mid ship.  Also nearest elevator bank is a good distance so you will get your steps.  Loved the view

  10. Greetings everyone and thanks

I'm a turkey fiend, DW makes it for me every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.  Well we took the bird out of the freezer on Wednesday, and Thursday night asked the youngest son to put it in the fridge. Just discovered he put it back in the freezer, now we have to try and thaw it again for tomorrow morning.  UGH!!!

So a few weeks out for our 30th Anniversary cruise and vow renewal on NA. We were cleaning around the house yesterday and looking at some old gold.  Decided we should take it in and have our bands remade  so off to the jeweler soon and see what can be done. Better than having that stuff just sitting in the safe

  11. Sorry I'm behind as usual, its the work thing

Not into making big statements but as the sun goes down tonight, as a Canadian, my heart goes out for the tragic passing of the members and support staff of the Humboldt Broncos  5 years ago today.  All those young lives, and those who remain maimed in an unfortunate accident between the team bus and a transport truck.  I am hoping the sails at Canada Place will light up again in Green and Gold. A very wise local child put out a hockey stick that night, in case they wanted to play. I shall go get my hockey stick now.. in case they want to play

    Bless all

  12. Just returned from yet another store in Vancouver that won't take cash. Yes most stores in tourist areas will take US$ but at a crappy exchange.  Just tip in US bills, baggage people and taxis love it. Be aware if you do get some Canadian money, and not a bad idea, our bills start at $5.  So don't get stuck with $1 and $2 (loonies and twonies) coins, your bank will not want to deal with them when changing back
