That sounds like a good day ahead for you, Jane. Ted will enjoy his visitors too (Freddie always thinks anyone who comes to the house is there for him 🤣).

Ted is exactly the same Gill. He seems to think that he was only
put on this earth to be admired! Jane xx

Good Morning Everyone
I won't dwell too much on the football suffice to say that watching England feels like walking a tightrope with no safety net. Still a win's a win and we have at least one world-class player in the multi-talented Mr Bellingham. Nice goal young man.
I think we're promised a welcome 22c down here today which will make a nice change from the low temperatures and excessive rain we've had recently. It won't last but a nice start to a new week.
I'm out for a coffee with a friend this morning then another friend is coming to mine this afternoon so a nice chatty day to look forward to.
I hope you all have a good Monday too. Be well. Jane xx

Lots of us up here watch Two Doors Down - I think it is hilarious. 🤣 Hope you understand the accents - it might be challenging for you!
I just love it! Like Lincslady I sometimes have to put the subtitles on but I'm getting used to the accents. My favourite is Christine - she's hilarious. Jane xx

Good Morning Everyone
An early waking and getting up day for me (5am). I don't know if it was the sound of the birds chattering outside that woke me or if it was my nerves about the forthcoming England match tonight.
Just realised I didn't comment on the events of yesterday. Like Avril I am an unashamed Royalist and enjoyed every minute of the Trooping of the Colour. I was so happy to see the Princess of Wales looking absolutely glorious and there was an especially touching photo in one of the rags of her and William sharing a very close and intimate glance at each other - it made me quite tearful ( it doesn't take much mind!).
Another warm welcome to baby Riley on his first day and I hope his poor mum is feeling a bit more comfortable after his delivery.
Feeling a bit low and sorry for myself with all my health problems I decided to look on TV for something to make me laugh and I discovered Two Doors Down. Has anyone watched it? Well it worked wonders for me I can tell you - and there are 7 series to get through - yay.
I hope you all have a happy Sunday. Be well. Jane xxx

Good Morning All
News from me this week : On Tuesday night I had a call at 7pm from my GP - just checking in to see how I am. She wanted to know if any appointments had come through yet. They haven't so she's chasing them. Wasn't that lovely? My hospital and GP experiences to date have been so good. I couldn't feel more cared for.
Here is a picture of Ted who's just been for a hair cut and blow-dry. He's so handsome!
Have a good day everyone. Be well. Jane xx

Thanks Jane, nice to see you're back.Hope it all goes well for your referrals. My OH had one today, she had a precancerous lesion on her leg frozen off. She's had a few Basel cell thingybobs over the years but this was different. No worries now so we can book a Bulgaria land holiday with our compo.Brian.
Thanks Brian.
Such good news for Mrs Brian - such a relief for you both.
You got your compo in an amazingly quick time - very impressive from the company you were with. I feel a road trip with Mr & Mrs YP would make good television - with bleeps in the appropriate places of course!
Are you looking forward to the Euros? I was - until last Friday when I had a horrible feeling that watching England is going to mean squeaky bum time again ( not one of my referrals). We'll see.

Good Morning!
I hope you are all well. Although I've had a short break I haven't really been away as I've still been following this thread and also @Megabear2 and @Selbourne on their Queen Anne voyages.
The adventures of @brian1 and @yorkshirephil kept me reading with great interest. It was so lovely that you all met up and seemed to be having a good time all together. Glad you hear you've received refunds so promptly.
i hope the mums are doing well and recovering well Michelle and Sue. Best wishes all round.
Me and Ted are doing ok although I've got a string of referrals in the pipeline following incidental findings on the CT scans after my fall. I would certainly have an "assistance needed" label should I book a cruise at the moment!
As ever, I send you all my very best wishes. Jane xxx

@Josy1953 So sorry to hear about your sister Josy. I hope scan 2 is more positive.
@Purdey16 Thanks for the wonderful photos of Tokyo. Enjoy Queen Elizebeth.
@Caullkhead it's a long long drive but willl be so worth it. Have a great time.
To all my other dear friends on CCF - just to let you know I'm taking a break. I'll be back soon and in the meanwhile wish you you all well - good health and happiness and excellent cruising.

Hi Everyone.
We've had heavy and constant rain since about 3pm yesterday with no break expected until this afternoon. It's mild though and Ted is delighted as his exercise field is flooded and a no-go area. He's sitting here now looking very smug.
@kalos Thanks for the lovely photos. Sounds like you've had a really good time.
@Megabear2 I'm exhausted. Your packing list has worn me out. My first thought was blimey, she's going to need a bigger cabin!
Have a good day day everyone. Try to stay dry and be well. Jane xx

My late Mother In Law was also a school cook. That was when schools had 'proper' food, I don't think its the same nowadays. Her ginger biscuits were legendary 🙂
My daughter is a school cook. She really takes her role seriously and would love to have free rein to cook 'proper food' for the children but you're right Waju, things aren't the same nowadays. And of course the constraints are all about money, and the products the providers the schools are obliged to use provide. Strict rotating menus have to be followed and there's no room for flair or imagination. It's such a shame. She tries very hard to add her own little twists to the menus for flavour and presentation because she really wants the children to enjoy her food. Jane xx

Oh that's the worst Michelle. I'm really sorry for you. I was following your house renovations at the time so knew it was a brand new floor. Do you think it can be saved? I truly hope so. Jane xx

@Purdey16 So excited for you. Have a good flight and a wonderful holiday on the beautiful Queen Elizabeth.
@Presto2 and @Peanut006 I'm so sorry to hear about your animal / husband related catastrophes today. I hope you both manage to get things cleaned up without too many after- effects. It's so upsetting to see your beautiful homes in a state through no fault of your own. Best wishes. Jane xxx

It just wasn't to be.
Congratulations to City for an amazing achievement of 4 consecutive titles.
Sorry @brian1 but there will be no claret and blue/red and white photos - my tears will make the colours run.
Right, I'm going to get over myself now. Sorry to bore.
Have a lovely evening everyone. Jane xx

Hi Everyone
Very warm and sunny here today - probably 22c but it feels warmer as there's no breeze.
Anyway, never mind the weather, it's the finale of the Premier League today and there's a very very very slim chance that Arsenal can win the league - and when I say slim think Kate Moss losing 4 stones! So @brian1 please can your boys do their best to help us out today-relying on you now.
For those who don't follow football please scroll on as this is a very boring post for you.
It's a day of goodbyes too, as the lovely Jurgen Klopp is leaving Liverpol and the fabulous Ian Wright is leaving MOTD. There will be tears - mine amongst them.
Have a great rest of the day everyone. Jane xx

@Megabear2 I am very sorry to hear your sad news about your aunt. As others have said, you can celebrate her life in your own way whilst onboard. Not being at her funeral physically in no way detracts from the respects you will pay her privately. Jane xx

P&O Cruisers - What are things like where YOU are?
in P&O Cruises ( UK )
Posted
Good morning to everyone.
We had a lovely day here yesterday - 23c and sunny all day. That's about my limit though. Once it starts to get hotter I withdraw - hate Summer heat. It's strange because my early cruises were all to the Med and I loved them. As I've got older (old), I find myself unable to endure hot temps and can't wait for Summer to end. Another joy of old age!
I had a really nice day yesterday with good friends - they are so important aren't they?
Can I also add my smiles to the new mums' choice of names - Riley and Remy. Gorgeous. I feel the birth of a new boy-band!
Also - to all the cartoon senders - thank you so much. They are very funny and uplifting - love the botox tree Graham.
I hope everyone has a happy day whatever you are doing. Be well. Jane xx
