  1. I've gotten "priority luggage tags" when booked in steerage. Don't believe anybody who tells you that they are anything special or that they are only sent out to "special" people. They are not.
  2. This: seems to contradict this: It sounds like you're looking to "book your own room based on a price level you're comfortable with" but then save some money by passing the hat among your traveling companions so that they can subsidize your "better than theirs" cabin by squatting in your cabin. Why don't you all just book whatever and enjoy the cruise? This sounds like a recipe for failure (on several levels).
  3. I consider LaCusina a huge step down from Olive Garden. All of them have been hit or miss for me. I like Teppanyaki, but no longer order the steak.
  4. Really? You ate lunch there so they know what you want for dinner? How do they know your names? Doesn't the Cagney's team bend over backwards to make everyone's dinner extra special? Strange... I've always received great service at Cagney's. Nobody knew my name. Nobody knew what I liked until they took my order.
  5. Why are you asking folks on the internet instead of just communicating within your travel group? You're cruising together but unable to talk about how to make it fun for all? That really doesn't make much sense.
  6. I've cruised AK many times, at all times of the year. If I don't see a bear this time, maybe next time. I really don't cruise to see bears. Whales and Eagles always seem to be around.
  7. I love cruising AK in April. I also love cruising AK in September and October. ....and May, June, July and August😎
  8. Sounds like you're not trying! When we sail together, I'll help out. Although, I lean towards the Bulleit over the Crown, but it's all good.😎
  9. Or, you could just set an alarm and turn on a light? One of these is much cheaper than the others.
  10. I sail a lot and have never had an issue with something not being available (other than Guinness, which I expect to find only on a ship with a brewhouse).
  11. Thanks. They serve cocktails on the tour boat, so renting a car is a non-starter. If I've had even one beer, I won't get behind the wheel.
  12. No, no. I meant I responded earlier saying "thanks." I really appreciate this information. It is really nice to know that I have a solid backup plan. I'll pack this info when we sail. 😎
  13. Yikes!! Sounds best to just avoid Le Bistro!🤣 I can do that!!
  14. 🤣🤣You're funny. Is that what you were going for?
  15. Just stick with the Chief (and his very small number of good friends here on the forum). We'll get you where you need to be to be comfortable AND avoid the pants police. I'm pretty sure we have a couple of those right here in this fine forum.
  16. Don't hold your breath friend. I'm pretty much a slacker these days (and no, that does NOT mean that I put on slacks to go to LeBistro).🤣
  17. Thanks for clearing that up.😎
  18. Hmmm.... I need to flow chart this and calc some probabilities about what @IAcruisingwas really saying here. That should be fun!
  19. No. It risks having an over-zealous Haven escort take folks to their rooms before they are fully cleared. This is the Haven where folks have extreme ideas about what to expect. It's possible that the previous occupant accidentally left those items and if they were told they couldn't be recovered, their heads would explode and they would tell tales on CC with the inevitable "I'm never sailing NCL again" ending. That was dear Aunt Susie's prized loofa that she willed to me. That was Uncle Joes precious razor that they used to shave him before the surgery. If I were in charge of that area, I most definitely might tell my staff to leave any personal items where they are and to notify me. Then, I get distracted by other equal crises and you have what we have here. Hey, it could happen. I said it was possible. Are you saying that it is not?
  20. It is possible that the room stewards are told not to remove or dispose of personal items left in a room, but to clean around them, report them to their supervisor and let the appropriate staff take care of them.
  21. Believe it or not, there are cruisers who watch for ducks, simply so they can complain about them!! DW and DD are into that duck thing, but for me it's more about finding that elusive Guinness.
