  1. I am not aware of a single instance of NCL offering a "holiday deal" that is in any meaningful way different from their ongoing pricing.
  2. Did your travel insurance pay for it?
  3. I believe that if you only buy one CN, you will only receive $100 OBC (so $150 would be charged to the on board account).
  4. Actually, the lesson to be learned is to do your homework before the cruise and buy CNs that will benefit you.
  5. Your question made perfect sense to me.
  6. I think this also extends to what is called the "Sports Bar" on some of the smaller ships (Sky, Sun, etc.). Same or similar menu. Intended to serve as either the late night or 24 hour venue.
  7. This will fade away by next month. I and most others will certainly continue to sign up for the free drink package. NCL still provides the best cruise experience for many/most of us here. If you're not among us, then best wishes on whatever cruise line you choose.
  8. Well, fortunately, your cabin is never too far away. So you never tip anybody in cash while on board? That may not go over well with some folks here. 🤣
  9. Don't sell yourself short. You would probably be laughing so hard that you just had to stay until it ended. Kind of like not being able to look away from an accident. Fortunately, with Karaoke, nobody really gets hurt. 🤣🐀
  10. Yep. Pro tip: when you first get on stick the two platinum coupons in your wallet. Last cruise I had to abandon DW at Teppanyaki and jet back to the cabin.
  11. I'm guessing the later. That song goes from fun to okay to my ears are bleeding.
  12. You and me both sister. My ancestors lived North of the arctic circle. I have no pigment. A bit of sun and I burst into flames. That said, I will slap on the SPF 50 and don an SPF 50 long sleeve sun shirt and venture out onto the beach at GSC every year or two. As long as the beverage package and free food still applies, I'm good with that. 😎
  13. I'll try to walk you through this..... a) Sweet Caroline wears thin for many/most of us after a very short period of time. I would tip the player to NOT play it (okay, I can't really back that up with cash). b) Sing away to your heart's content in the shower, car, whatever. You don't owe anybody anything. Feel "guilty?" Hand out ear plugs. It is STILL a free country.😎 @ChiefMateJRK"may have" developed a relationship with a nighttime buffet bartender on the Joy last fall. He ordered a Long Island Ice Tea for DW. The bartender and his partner joked about "how long do you want it?" 🤣Then there was muttering about "a long, long time ago...." Yeah, within minutes we were doing a crappy job on the Don Mclean classic to the amusement of most, and the annoyance of the no bubble crowd. Most of this stuff (like bubbles, etc.) is only a problem for folks who skip the drink package. 🤣
  14. I think you're missing the whole point of Karaoke. It's to get untalented, social introverts (ref: @ChiefMateJRK) up in front of a small group of fun people to embarrass themselves for the collective groups' entertainment. Unfortunately, cruise Karaoke events have become something totally different. It now seems to be attention-seeking people (some who do actually have talent) aching to find an audience to feed their self-esteem. I'm on a cruise to have fun, not provide group support (not that there's anything wrong with that). My Sky cruise in January was devoid of talented lounge acts, so I wound up in the OL a few times and heard a lot of Karaoke. Would I have given it a shot? Maybe. It didn't matter as we had about three individuals every night stumbling over each other to be the next up on stage. I think one out of three could actually sing well. But, again, that's really not the point.
  15. 🤣Yet some claim that nothing useful is ever posted on this forum. Just watch me impress DD and DW on my next cruise. 😎
  16. 🤣While it has been proven that with enough booze, @ChiefMateJRKwill embarrass himself at Karaoke, there simply isn't enough booze on the ship to get me into a hula hoop contest. And, that's a good thing for EVERYBODY.
  17. You're a victim of corporate IT security my friend! 🤣 Been there, done that. In the grand scheme of things, passwords for financial accounts are the only ones that are all that important. My password for my local utility account? 🤣 God forbid that somebody hacks that and sees what I paid for electricity last month.
  18. Thanks @BermudaBound2014! I'm awful at social media (and I can prove it🤣). Since this is strictly friends and family, I'll try to just give them a call. If need be, I'll get DD on the phone at the same time in a day or two.😎
