Thanks for all your updates and great pictures! The crew has worked a lot of overtime hours getting decorations, food and drinks ready for Chinese New Year, Super Bowl,
Mardi Gras, and Valentine's Day! 😊 Happy Valentine's Day to all on board the Zuiderdam!
Toad - My stepfather and I boarded the Zuiderdam in July 2023. Our boarding time
was 3:15 PM. We arrived at terminal at 2:50 PM. There was no line and no waiting. We were the only passengers in the terminal at that time. Check-in was very quick.
We loved the Zuiderdam.
RuthC - I agree with everything you said. My stepfather and I boarded the Niew Statendam in Boston in August 2022 also. We had to wait one hour outside the terminal in a long line. After we entered the building, we had to wait another hour. It was chaotic. However, after we got on the ship everything was fine and we had a great time.
Haljo1935 - Congratulations on your Stars win and your Mavericks win! 😊 Bravo!
I agree with you about the not-service animals. The women from Guest Services
should not have been patting the dog. The dogs should not be in a stroller and they
should not have been on the ship.
I hope you will get a letter from HAL that addresses the evidence you reported
about the dogs on your cruise. A generic letter is not adequate.
I agree with what you said about HAL - they do so many things right, but this is not one of them.
CruiserBruce - I agree with you. I'm not on Facebook or Instagram, but on every cruise I've been on people are posting about their cruises on social media. That's announcing that they're not home. Years ago when I lived in Boston, two TV anchors who were married were on vacation. The station announced that "Chet and Nat are in the Caribbean." Their house was robbed.
Seasick Sailor - My stepfather and I were on the Zuiderdam July-August 2023. We had an overnight in Reykjavik. Our room steward and his friends were planning to go to KFC. I left him a note in the morning with some Icelandic krona. It's great when there's an overnight and the crew can have some fun ashore. Where were you when you bought the KFC?
Agree that Ruth is right. In 2018 I was on the (old) Rotterdam. A crew member in the Lido buffet said you cannot take food off the ship, but you can bring food onboard the ship.
I got the email today. Many questions about why I look the cruise, how many did I take, did I like
a new ship or a smaller ship, would I take the cruise if it involved a long international flight, etc.
It asked if I wanted to go to new destinations or if I preferred visiting places I had been to before.
