  1. A poor choice of films and hitting play sounds like a staffing issue problem? The "staffing issue" excuse is such BS. Many companies just relying on people buying this excuse to cut costs and work the existing workers harder. Same as all the problems with pilots in the airline industry. If they wouldn't have taken the covid assisrance earmarked to paying employees during the lockdowns and instead pocketed it and encouraged any employees near retirement to leave, we wouldn't have the problems we do today.
  2. So you can get any of the caribbean cocktails off that menu (or a personal favorite) for half price, or is it just a standard drink of their choosing the first day? And thanks for the pictures Tim.
  3. Very mediocre movie. Horrible when the villian is way better than the emo Batman. Hold out for Spider-man or Jurassic Park, etc. I saw no Top Gunfor my cruise later this month. Hopefully it'll be added by my December cruise.
  4. Exactly. Smartest thing Carnival ever did was dumping Coke. Now put cocaine back in the formula, and I may give Coke another shot.
  5. That is more of a Hollywood thing, than a Carnival thing. The movies since the theaters reopened have been poor. You can count on one hand the really good movies released since the theaters reopened. (two hands if you count the mediocre movies like the Batman, etc.) I'm hoping that Top Gun Maverick gets added before my cruise at the end of the month. If Carnival keeps getting so l;azy about some of their offerings, like the theater offerings and tv offerings they are going to lose some loyal customers. I don't mind the movies by the pool so much, butto DW it is one of her most important things to do every cruise. Plus she likes watching movies in the cabin each night as she goes to bed. These all seem like little things, but they all add up in deciding which cruiseline top choose.
  6. Am I crazy or didn't they ban any bottled beverages years ago?
  7. Yeah thats what I do. Fill a bubba keg before they switch over to tea after breakfast. (prefer any juice except apple juice to water or tea) Not for mixers, just to have a drink later in the day. Any tumbler in the fridge all day would work.
  8. My local Walmart sells the small cans of Ocean Spray. If you order that amazon link somebody already posted it should get to you Thursday, Friday at the latest.
  9. Somebody in another thread had mentioned if you need to use some OBC up and want to carry some $ to another cruise, you can buy Carnival Gift Cards in the shops and then apply those to your next cruise. Haven't done it myself yet, but probably going to try as our cruise in 3 weeks is a 4 day Bimini cruise with like $300 OBC from a cancelled cruise, but I doubt we use even $100, so we'll have to find a way to try and flip some to our December cruise. (Don't want to just waste free $ on stuff we don't want to do)
  10. I went years ago, waaayyyy before the shutdowns killed everything. Ardastra Gardens was much funner.
  11. From Progresso, maybe (I preferred Uxmal) from Cozumel, heck no. Terrible idea.
  12. Just took a cab on our own. Pretty short ride. Did it before Covid though so not sure about how much it has eased up on the rules recently.
  13. It could depend on where you live. When I lived in North Carolina, Dr. Pepper was distributed by Coke. Here in South Carolina, Dr. Pepper products are distributed by Pepsi.
  14. Absolutely. Always take an insulated Bubba Keg that I use for juices in the morning and drinks all night. Enjoy.
  15. A hand me down from Costa does not excite me much. But any NEW ship added to an aging fleet is an improvement.
  16. I was thinking about it when the price was $60 a day. $120 make the Resorts World look like a more reasonable excursion now. Thanks for the price update.
  17. Pirate musuem off Bay St. was nice. (I think its Pirates of Nassau) Ardastra Gardens zoo was very interactive, with many animals much closer than US zoos. (Flamingo show and Lorry Parrot feedings were especially fun.) Not big like San Diego or major US city zoo, but fun.
  18. llllf you see the large concrete area just behind the ship, that is the tram pickup'dropoff area.
  19. The trams are just on the pier behind the ship. If you can walk from the front to back of the ship you'll be good. Ton of videos on you tube that clearly show the tram and the short walk. Doing the same with researching our first trip to Bimini in a month.
  20. Never knew there was a Sam's Club. but something I would never think of doing on a vacation day in Cozumel. (maybe in a cappier port like Belize or Costa Maya)😜
  21. Out of all my trips to Nachi, twice there had been storms the week before we arrived and the "shelving" a few feet from shore was noticible. Would be dodgy for small children and mobility impaired folks. Good point.
  22. Do you HAVE to have a smartphone to cruise anymore? Sounds like you need it to see menus in your room, bars or the dining room and to order most things on board. I was planning on leaving mine at home instead of in my safe, since I will be catching a ride to local port next month. I hate lugging my cell phone around at home and refuse to do it on vacation. (honestly if flip phones were much cheaper than an i-phone, I would have went backwards years ago.) Please tell me there are other options like at least a full room service menu via the TV, etc.
  23. It means you'll be in the third group out of B zone to board, so you might not set foot on the ship until 11AM-ish. (i'd assume earlier unless you get a bunch of uptight jerkoffs showing up earlier than their assigned time trying to be the first on board, clogging things up) Hopefully it won't ruin your cruise.
