  1. Thank you. That's exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Doesn't matter about booking, just checking about what perks you get with the cabin and what facilities are available on the Sunshine. DW and her 2 friends booked apparently the only 3 spa balsonies on one side of the ship. The other husbands and I are just along for the ride.
  2. Found tons of reviews/replys about other ships. Curious what features the Sunshine has to offer.
  3. Miami Vice screams Carnival cruise for going on 2 decades.
  4. In the videos since they started all the renovations I haven't seen any shuttles running since they put the covered walkway in.
  5. Why did you pay for parking if you had handicap tags? Parking for valid handicap tags is complimentary in Charleston.
  6. Yeah I was looking forward to that myself. Hopefully they don't return until next month.
  7. I try to read between all the lines. One thing I've learned in the past 2 years being stuck at home. It's astounding how much we are lied to by ALL mainstream media and the current administrations.(both) And by lie, I also include what the media or administrations refuse to show or talk about or try to censor.
  8. I guess the person who hits play on the Blu-ray player couldn't run the popcorn machine too. You'll never convince these visa believers that the excuses they get fed are BS to save a buck. (which after the 2 years the cruiselines had, I have no problem with, just be honest about it.)
  9. My Wife's last two cruises from here, they carried their own luggage off. The first time they got off as soon as they could and were outside for me to pick them up before 7am. In March they lollygagged getting off and were still outside by 8 am. I pick them up in the cab/uber area at the bottom of the ramp from the ship, and we have been back to our house (15 minutes past the airport) in less than 30 minuites each time. Unless you would hit traffic at the Boeing plant (at the edge of the airport) at the start of their shift (which I believe is actually 5 or 6 am) You should EASILY be dropped off at the terminal curbside within 30 minutes.
  10. Just got my Bubba Kegs out of the garage today for this exact purpose in 16 days. 2 full of Guava juice in the room fridge after breakfast each day. Prefer it over soda, water or tea the rest of the day.
  11. You'll be going against morning traffic, so unless you book a flight before 10am, you should be good. Only a 15 minute drive from pier to airport. Me trying to get to the pier in 16 days will be a 45-60 minute drive for a usual 30 minute trip.
  12. Never paid that much attention before but cell phones are much more common than my last time cruising.. Also hate the sad people who leave the questions they don't know blank and you see them scribling while the answers are given. Then miraculously they get one more right than the 2nd best team. Luckily we have been able to win at least once every cruise. If we win trivia after winning a ship we just play for fun and don't try to win the ship unless friends traveling with us want one.
  13. I never said they offered buyouts like the airlines. But if you believe staffing issues are 100% visa issues you're living in denial. Companies are riding that excuse for cost cutting reasons. A year from now they'll still be using the same excuse.
  14. Yeah I always order something I've never tried before and something safer, just in case I don't like the adventurous choice. Always try something like frog legs, alligator, escargot, etc., then follow with a pasta dish, etc.
  15. Your best bet would be a back to back eastern/western caribbean 7 day cruises, that would give you the most ports in one trip. (eastern is frequently, St. Thomas, St.Martin, Nassau - western is frequently Cozumel, Roatan, Costa Maya, Belize and maybe Grand Cayman)(Pretty much a sea day at the start and end of each cruise, then a port a day in the middle) A southern caribbean out of Miami would probably give you the most sea days and much less visited islands . Weather in the Caribbean is worst from mid-August to mid-October. (Hurricane season technically runs from June to November but September is where it impacts us the most) If you enjoy swimming in the ocean maybe avoid the Bahamas in February. Rarely gets too cold in the Bahamas or Caribbean, but does get a bit chilly to swim in the ocean or unheated pools. Rates are usually really cheap in September due to almost all kids are back by then and hurricane season. (your cruise will usually run during hurricane season, just itineraries get changed last minute to avoid storms and damage from storms that recently hit. If you have particular islands you want to visit on a cruise, NEVER cruise in the heart of hurricane season.) To avoid kids avoid June, July and August, Easter/spring break Christmas/New Year break and Thanksgiving here in the states. (bonus, rates are cheapest when kids are locked into school.)
  16. 16 Days for platinum. Just did mine an hour ago. Took 10am instead of 930am to ensure I miss any rush hour residual traffic that Thursday. Gets real after you lock in that check in time.
  17. According to a google search. 3.2 Kilometers. We just took a quick cab ride each way.
  18. If you google screenshots for the Fun Times of the ship you are going on, will also give you a good idea of how much trivia and what kinds will be offered on your cruise. (Usually the staff does the same trivia for many weeks in a row on the ships) Some staffs lean heavily on general knowledge trivia, (cartoons, states, cars, sports, etc.) Some staff lean on specialized trivia. (Harry Potter, Star Wars, James Bond, etc.) So it differs radically from ship to ship.
  19. The choice of trivia and amount of triivia on board is all dependant upon the Cruise Director or someone on his staff. (A few CD's leave all the trivia to their underlings) DW and I usually play 75-100% of games while oinboard. I'd say generally there is 2-3 games per day. (usually less on port days) On DW's last girls cruise on the sunshine, they had a crazy amount of trivia each day. (looking over her copy of the funtimes for each day it seemed more like 5-7 per day.) But I have never been on a cruise without having at least 1 trivia game per day. May you win many Ships on a Stick.
  20. What happens when parents stay in one cabin and the kids stay in a separate cabin. Carnival needed to stick to somebody over 21 being in each cabin, rather than just allowing them to switch cabins after boarding.
