  1. Years ago we were on the Glory the week after a hurricane destroyed Belize and Costa Mata, so we wound up hitting Key West and Progresso instead. If you care where your cruise is going, NEVER book between the middle of August through the middle of October. Just go on a cruise, to be on a cruise. (like we did this past weekend to Bimini. Came close to going somewhere else, but we knew that going in) If you care at all about your itinerary, book outside those 60 days or so. If you trally, really care, completely avoid July, August, September and October.
  2. As soon as you turm on the app ,it reminds you to muster and where your station is. (ours was C, All looked to be well marked on the lifejacket storage boxes on deck 4) We went straight there when we boarded this past Thursday and they scanned our boarding pass (since we didn't have keycards yet) and just had us wait a couple of minutes until they had about ten of us and did the lifejacket demonstration and we were done. The one good thing to come out of covid, reasonable muster drills.
  3. No Thursday night fooyball last week on the Sunshine. Had college football Saturday and a couple of NFL games Sunday in the casino and sportbar. (GB and Atlanta games that I saw walking through) No channels in the cabins that play sports or any sports news. HGTV, Food Network, Nickelodeon, cartoon network, etc.
  4. I can't remember if all our balconies previous had floor to ceiling windows, but with the sliiding glass door instead of the open out doors we've had previously, even if you never used your balcony, you had the entire end of your cabin being one giant window out. I would imagine you could easily make oceanview cabins the same and make them much more enjoyable. (I'd prefer over a balcony) I would almost think about paying more for that than a balcony cabin. (the balcony actually obstructed a bit of my view last weekend)
  5. 10137 was ours but 10135.10139 on either side had them also. (and the 3 balconies on the port side of 10 should too I'd imagine._ But word of warning, the hallway is crazy busy from lost people leaving the lido deck (just a few feet out your door through a wooden door) looking for elevators or the buffet. (I don't think one lost person I tried to help was lookung fior the spa or gym which was down that hall.) And when there is a deck party or something on deck, the noise filters into the cabin.
  6. Just got off the Carnival Sunshine yesterday and we were staying in a Spa Balcony cabin. (DW had previously stayed in a regular balcony on the Sunshine in March) Was the first time we've stayed in any cabin with floor to ceiling windows. Also the balcony had a sliding glass door, versus a swinging door which was incredibly nice. Are there any other ships that have floor to ceiling windows (either ocean view or balcony) or the same balconies with sliding doors instead of swinging doors? (or any other cruiselines that have similar cabins?) I have to say my enjoyment of this past cruise was so much better than my previous cruises with regular balconies or oceanview rooms. (I don't enjoy hanging out on a humid Caribbean or Southern balcony. I get enough humidity nine months out of the year at home.) Would love to find other oceanview or balcony cabins with floor to ceiling windows on Carnival or any other cruiseline.
  7. Buf remember, if you want to make anytime dining reservations, you need your app to make the resrvation, then to get the notification to come down and then respond back you are on your way, then be able to read the menu once you arrive. (because the staff will act stunned if you forgot your cell phone and stupidly ask for as paper menu) Same with any other restaurant with menus(and in lesser cases some of the bars)
  8. Stopped in on one of our two sea days this past weekend. The entire experience was MEH. Service was a little slow and I think I enjoyed my omeletes from the omelette stations better than anything anyone at our table received. (French Toast of somekind, Skillet pancakes and I got , literally, two scoops of fake eggs when I asked for some simple scrambled eggs and sausage.) Don't get me wrong, what I saw at the buffet the two days I went down there was just revolting. (Eggs, sausage, hashrounds, etc. being put out more than 60 minutes before the buffet opened, to sit under heat lamps.) So if you can't find an omeltte station for some fresh ingredients and freshley prepared food., the sea day brunch was a fine middle ground.
  9. Just got back from Bimini on Saturday. Just make sure you book the Carnival excusion that explicity states pool access. Facilites were very nice. Only gripe I had was the DJ started blasting music at about 10 AM and even though we were at the opposite end of the two pools from the DJ, it was still pretty loud. (as long as you enjoy thumping dance music from the 2000's, you'll love it. I think in 4 hours the only song DW and I had heard before was Montell Jordan's "This Is How We Do IT" from the 1990's) But the facilities themselves were extremely nice. Just not as a relaxing day as I would have liked in a such a lovely place.
  10. Just got off the Sunshine this morning and our 12 pack was waiting in the room when we boarded.
  11. No, but its a huge Pain in the A$$ if you don't carry your phone 24/7. Just got off the Sunshine this morning and forgot my phone twice in the dining room and they acted like asking for a menu was insanity. Also the Hub app was extremely glitchy all weekend. The text feature that everyone in our group of 6 paid for, was never working for all 6 of us at any one time. At least at all times, one or two of our apps wouldn't be working. (we'd sit next to each other at trivia or something and all try to message each other and not once in 4 days did we have 100% functionalty.) A couple of times, nothing in the app was functioning, so you had no idea what was going on unless you went down to pick up an extremely truncated version of the old fun times at Guest Services. I'll admit checking in for anytime dining was nice, but that was about all I liked about the experience. Weirdest part was watching the usually hardworking crew, walking around like zombified American workers, staring at their phones when they were supposed to be working. (watched the guy at ther asian noodle place at lunch, check his phone 3-4 times in 5 minutes while he was making peoples noodles.)
  12. They had it in our cabin on the Sunshine this past Thursday. Was Crystal Geyser too.
  13. It' super simple. About 15 minutes before the dining room opens they open table requests. When we went to dinner this past Thursday on the Sunshine, 4 of the group of 6 were new cruisers to Carnival and all 4 got lost (even though we had warned them and explained about the weird layouts of Carnival's ships on those decks) and they were late finding their way to the Sunshine dining room. They only hold your table for 10 minutes after they notify you it is ready. They won't let anyone from the reservation in until the full group is there and they will cancel the table they saved for you if anyone in your group is more than 10 minutes late. So if you have someone unreliable or not understanding directions, be carefull.
  14. Yeah when we did ours 16 days ago, we had from 9:30 AM in 30 minute increments. Doesn't mean we'll board the ship at that time, just do our check in and get cattle called until the ship is cleared to board.
  15. They haven't since the shuitdown. Only priority is the two day headstart to choose an arrival time. I'll find out for sure in a little over 9 hours.
  16. Beach clubs all have a different Vibe. The main 4 everybody recommends alot in here. Nachi Cocum relaxed AI - more of a quiet day. (they limit the amount of visitors per day) Playa Mia - big place for kids with lots of pools with toys and slides, etc. Mr. Sanchos - used to be AI or PAYG with more of a party atmosphere (not sure after restart) Paradise Beach - again used to be PAYG or AI have to see what people are saying since the restart. PB is kind of in the middle of Nachi and Mr. Sanchos. There are alot of other beaches and beach clubs that I'm sure others will chime in on. I'd start looking at you tube videos and pictures of those 4 while others chime in with other ideas. There is literally the perfect beach day for everyone in Cozumel. Just waiting to be found. Also maybe think about the Bar Hop suggested earlier if a party day might be what you're looking for. I've never gone myself buit it does get rave reviews in here. Hope that helps you get started.
  17. What are your other ports on this cruise? Many other Western Caribbean stops have more adrenaline stuff compared to Cozumel, (ziplines and better snorkeling in Belize and Roatan, etc.) Snorkeling in Cozumel is pretty good, just not as good from shore like Roatan You might get some good suggestions for them while looking for some in Cozumel and maybe find something more interesting to you. Although Im sure hopefully a few can come up with more for Cozumel. (I'm a beach day in Cozumel guy myself, so not much help.) Good luck.
  18. Yeah is adventerous a drinking binge like crewsweeper suggested, or renting dunebuggies, snorkeling, ziplining, cave tubing, etc. ? (because alot of the more athletic adventurous ideas are better done in other western caribbean stops.) Cozumel has some athletic stuff, but a TON of relaxing or partying beach days. Be easier for people to make suggestions if we understood your definition of adventurous.
  19. Excellent advice. I don't think I'd ever try the ferries on my own unless the ship was in port an inordinately long time. Read too many stories of people's ferry ride back running late or being cancelled and they miss the ship.

Ferries run 365 days a year, weather permitting. IMPORTANT Prices and Schedules are Subject to Change Without Notice. Check with the ferry company (see right) to make sure. We recommend to check the day before you'll go on the ferry.
