  1. I'm sure at least one company will keep vaxxing requirements and some will keep testing requirements. Then the individuals can make their vacation plans according whichever company's rules they wish to follow and they feel comfortable with. (as it should have been all along) Hopefully cruiselines will come up with minimum insurance everybody must cruise with.
  2. It isn't about freedom (vax is more about that) the testing being used now clearly isn't catching covid early enough in its lifecycle to prevent 100% vaxxed people from getting onboard with it and passing it on once onboard, after testing negative. If they come up with effective testing someday, I will have no problem with it. (unless the cost makes the cruise unaffordable)
  3. I'm looking forward to first line to 100% drop the pre cruise testing BS. Kudos to NCL.
  4. Maybe people actually staying at the resort complained and they decided to stop allowing daypasses use the pool? E-mail the resort itself and make an inquiry. Tell them you've done a daypass previously and enjoyed the adult pool and noticed it is no longer listed on the website.
  5. They were closing during the summer (hurricane season) to do repairs and updates. Maybe they had to take either the electricity or internet down for a few days for construction? Hopefully you can reach them.
  6. Yay Carnival, for at least correcting their misstep. Now lets see which brand steps up and does away with irrelevant testing on cruises less than 14 days.
  7. Smart move after watchimg Carnival flip flop policies 3 times in less than a week. Who knows how many times they'll flip flop in a month. Give it a beat and see how it all works out.
  8. We were the opposite. We have a September cruise to Bimini. We immediately got an e-mail the first day, they changed the policy, but then nothing when they added the Bahamas back in and nothing yet about the changes again. (I'll personally wait until I see it officially printed on their website versus a John Heald facebook post.) I applaud them for being smart enough to follow other cruiselines towards dumping a wasteful, ineffectual policy, but feel for how poorly they are handling the communications. (I really feel for anybody cruising this past week or next week to the Bahamas. Stressful enough getting last minute stuff done to cruise, without waffling policies to prevent you cruising) Now hopefully they all wise up and do away with testing on anything less than multiweek cruises in the near future.
  9. Yeah I liked the O'Sheehan's option on the one NCL cruise I did. It was minimally staffed but still much quicker and more varied food choices than the Pizza Pirate.
  10. The cheapest gift they have ever given. I'm sure they bought enough to last years. Maybe they'll run through the initial supply by 2025. (and then probably reorder or move on to stickers) Photo albums, luggage tags, headphones, tervis tumblers and foam beer koozies. Which item probably costs the least, by a country mile?
  11. RCI had the stones to make an actual decision Carnival copied a day later. for appearances sake, then after making their catchup move, came back a day later and walked back their move, quitely, revealing they were really only making the change to short cruises to California, since all of their short east coast cruises, go to the Bahamas or Grand Cayman. I have a short Bimini cruise in a little over a month. Hopefully Carnival will wise up and change their policy by then. If I have to take a test for a 4 day Bahamas cruise, while a month and a half of RCI cruisers are not, then Carnival will have steered a loyal customer to looking into the competition more than ever before. To me, wasting time and money on ineffective pre-cruise testing is a much worse policy than taking away hairy chest contests, afternoon teas, etc.
  12. Brekfast hangtags and loss of Ocean Plaza will hurt the most. Was really looking forward to the Ocean Plaza for a quick bite before trivia.in Septermber.
  13. Haven't been yet, (going in September) but from my research, it seems that at Fisherman's village, all those golf carts parked there are available to rent off the ship or from a land vacay. Dozens and dozens of them. We are debating a daypass to Resortworlds pool/beach area. since I can't verify if the September jellyfish swarm from last year is yearly or a one time thing, or renting a golf cart and exploring on our own.
  14. Probably 100% of 5 days or less ( not out of California) go to Bahamas or Grand Cayman. East Coast go to Nassau, Freepoprt, HMC or Bimini. The West coast of Florida or New Orleans or Galveston go to Grand Cayman. There is going to be alot of people missing cruises coming up. Carnival e-mailed us about our 4 day Bimini cruise in September about no need for testing, with no mention about the Bahamas qualification. Hopefully if RCI is able to cruise to the Bahamas without the ridiculous testing, enough people complaun or bow out before September.
  15. I usually wake up at 3-4 am (my work hours) most cruises and have many times eaten pizza as that was all that was available until breakfast at 6:30-7am. Now if Carnival would make ANYTHING else available, in the wee early mornings, cereal, pastries, freaking toast, otherwise, if you advertise 24 hour pizza(or just food), deliver on what you promise. If they would offer ANY other snacks to tied someone over until breakfast, then closing the pizza down from 4am until 10 am is completely reasonable.
  16. Beauty of this is that the people that believe in Fauci and the vaccine can follow his protocols and be perfectly safe, if the vaccines are as effective as he and this administration have been claiming. (while changing the finishline repeatedly) And those who think it has all been smoke and mirrors can do their thing and possibly contract covid, but it will be there personal choice, without negatively affecting anyone who is vaxxed and boosted. (again for those who believe) Kudos to Carnival for following RCI and their smart leadership.
  17. Carnival has until New Years to wise up if they want to keep my business.
  18. Looks like I'll be switchimg to RCI after my next two cruises. Kudos to them for taking a smart leadership role.
  19. Sorry I read your initial post and it mentioned nothing about the terminal renovation. Thats why I was curious if it was that or Straw Market or other venue. Glad somebody had a more up to date video. I'll be happy ro returm to Nassau, after the reno is finished. Glad my September cruise is going to Bimini instead.
  20. I thought the terminal building was scheduled for like December this year. but I guess delays have pushed it into 2023. I was wondering if you were interested the terminal or straw market, etc. or specific sites in town. (Fort Fincastle, Ardastra Zoo, the Graycliffe, etc) Figured people could more easily answer specific places you might be interested in.

I think there is 8 ships in Cozumel the day we are there this December. 4 in Costa Maya, dreading that day.
