  1. Car park is a bit small though and very crowded. You have to leave your keys so they can move your car around. I prefer to keep the keys with me. Holiday Inn is the best IMO.
  2. This was a long time ago. 2011 on Celebrity Constellation, I think. Maybe my memory is a bit hazy! Done so many cruises since then!
  3. GC is a lovely island. Spent a fortnight at Treasure Island Resort once. Hired a Jeep to get around. Fabulous beaches, stingray city, etc. Visited once on a Celebrity cruise and were lucky to berth there.
  4. Enjoyed Mr Strickler before. Very good stories. Unlike most speakers! Also saw a very good one about Psychopaths, and another about serial killers. I obviously like the more macabre topics! 🙄
  5. Always use Holiday Inn and drive up day before. Room and breakfast, parking for 15 nights and taxi to and from ship. Obviously varies due to time of year, but can work out cheaper than parking only - and you get an extra night's holiday.
  6. Tried it last year for a longer cruise as it is cheap for parking. However, it is not really a hotel, more a guest house with a very basic car park. Very nice people, reasonably priced accommodation. Bit old fashioned. Quite a way to the terminals.
  7. I always book package direct with hotel (Holiday Inn). Used H Extras once and they charged a third more than direct with hotel. Never used them again for anything.
  8. Palma shuttle drops you near the cathedral and old town. Cagliari one at port entrance.
  9. Try the adults only ships. No children but more expensive!
  10. Ibiza Town is lovely. Castle on the hill and loads of shops, bars and restaurants around the harbour. Will be very busy in August though.
  11. It does depend on what obc you get, plus whether you drink, do excursions, use the spa, speciality restaurants, etc. I did 7 cruises last year and spend varied from £50 to £480 after obc used. Some couples I know spend nothing as they don't drink and just use their obc.
  12. Last September, on Arcadia Canada cruise, the single supplement was removed after final balance date. Annoying or what?!!
  13. I have paid more for my Aurora May cruise than my two friends, for the same balcony cabin. As prices have been reduced. They also got £400 obc, and I got £200 ( when obc is supposed to be per cabin, not per person). Not the first time this has happened. Going to book last minute in future. It is a gamble for solos.
  14. They have not updated the pics. Not surprising!
  15. That's a shame. I do not use accessible cabins but it seems disappointing for those that do.
  16. On Arcadia at Xmas they had staff at the buffet entrances asking people to use the washbasins. Unfortunately they were getting a fair bit of abuse from some individuals. Felt sorry for them.
  17. That was 2019 so maybe things have improved now. She has had a fair bit of refurbishment over the past couple of years - new furniture, carpets, mattresses, etc.
  18. Why would accessible cabins have different TVs to the rest of the ship?. Maybe they have changed since the last time you used one?
  19. They used to do that on P&O. And Stilton (if you asked for it). Sadly no more.
  20. We were warned not to go ashore in Colon independently as there was nothing there and it was dangerous. Of course, some idiots ignored this, went ashore and got robbed at gunpoint! An excursion is essential there, or stay on board.
  21. I used to love the indulgent desserts, but I find the new vegan ones pretty bland. Ice cream is still good though. Just wish the fruit salad was more available.
  22. I am with your parents! Good job there is something to suit all tastes out there.
  23. Only ship I have been on recently that still has rubbish TVs is Ventura. However, Aurora (and Arcadia) TVs are fine now.
