Our date for booking excursions was 8pm on Christmas night, they opened exactly at that time. Fortunately the Christmas ‘spirit’ didn’t stop us from booking the excursions we wanted 😀
The second leg is a repositioning, so there aren’t any previous roll calls that I can see. FL seems to be a starting/stopping point, so I can’t see any excursions from that location. I will ask when we are on board, but we can always book an excursion on our own or enjoy the ship until the newbies embark when it isn’t as busy
I wonder if HK is mentioned only because that’s where you would fly into/out of and are then transported to/from Schenzhen. It isn’t too far between both locations and when I lived there, we used to take a day trip to Schenzhen for shopping
Many years ago, whilst on a business trip, we did the Queen Mary tour. We also tried to do the Spruce Goose, but they’d moved it without telling us. They also closed McDonnell Douglas after our trip, but I don’t think it was anything to do with me 😀
Meiji Shrine (Harajuka is close by, said to be the area where the world’s fashions start) there’s a McDonalds there too 😀
Imperial Palace
Shibuya crossing
Tokyo Tower (have dinner there in McDonalds 😀)
and many more, check out the tours offered by v i a t o r
Our excursions were planned to open Christmas Day at 8pm. I received an MVJ notification on Christmas Eve, to inform me that they were now open for selection. They weren’t, they opened at 8pm on Christmas Day !!
We are going in the opposite direction in February, London to LA, and have booked 2K and 3K on a BA flight with their club suite (unless there’s an aircraft swap). You can always get up and chat to your partner and your husband can easily get anything out of the overhead locker. Basically it shouldn’t be a problem
The Shang is a very good hotel, especially if you are on a Horizon floor, but if anyone else is arriving early, the Langham is also very good and within walking distance of the cruise terminal (via the shopping mall)
We have had emails with discount codes, but these were for specific cruises and not for every cruise in their catalogue. We always book through Viking and if you ask nicely, you may get an onboard credit (OBC) and if the cruise is ≤ 15 days duration, ask for the Silver Spirits Package (SSP) to be included free of charge
