  1. Yesterday, We received an offer to move our cruise to next year. We accepted.
  2. July 20 we board. So we have time to have someone at HAL to sort it out. While speaking to the Supervisor, I spelled out the exact email address. He said, yup that's her for sure. He said it will be sorted out. A reminder to follow up before boarding. Our Account does show the AARP discount, and Teacher. It does not show the $500 for the AARP card.
  3. FOLLOW up,, Nope you have no AARP credit. SO now off to higher authorities. Good thing I saved the email HAL sent us.
  4. June 25 I Received email from HAL directly. Stated our AARP card was applied to our sailing. All details are correct. Fast forward to this AM. Called HAL to ask why I paid for a small tour yesterday with a CC and not the credit we supposedly had. On phone now (first call was dropped by them) for 22 minutes and climbing. Listening to that dit-dit-dot-dottt music. Rep says they saw it but was applied to something but not sure what. Note: We are already paid in full. Several months ago. Oh well,,,, Dit-dit-dot-dotttt,,,
  5. I guess it is a good thing we purchased it back in January. So I will print the HAL confirmation with the said January date. Maybe I will tape the receipt to my sea card? Lots of guessing I guess.
  6. Has anyone been a part of Dutch Day ? https://www.hollandamerica.com/en/us/news/2024/April/news-042624-holland-america-line-debuts-dutch-day ?
  7. Would you like to play the slots or tables. Ok, NOT a diss, I do and on occasion we receive offers. Just wondering. As to the offer itself, The tough thing is modifying the transportation home.
  8. Do it. If there is time in-between you can take the train to Amsterdam. For us Central Station Amsterdam is so easy. My only Q would be the amount of bags you would be taking. We did similar last year, with a week in Paris and London. Great trip, Easy
  9. The answer is above. 2018 TransAtlantic, 20' swells for 5 straight days. 2019 TransPacific, The Bearing Sea, calm as glass for 4 straight days.
  10. We take an over the Door Hanging Shoe Organizer. Hang off the bathroom door. Pockets for so much more than just shoes.
  11. If Im reading this correctly. A Guaranteed booking will get you a cabin number sometime before the ship leaves the dock.
  12. We have been there twice. First Mid July. Wore Long underwear, under the Polartec , under the Goretex. Along with Gloves Hat and scarf. Yes Cold and wet. Yet they kept telling us the week before was 80 degrees and sunny. Lots of people, The Second time we went early April. Trans-Pacific cruise. I was a balmy 60-70. Mostly Sunny. Zip crowds. Reality is Alaska is a fickle lady. Crowds will be there during the summer months.
  13. We get in to Boston Saturday Aug 24. Currently Mass DOT shows the tunnel closed that weekend. Is taking I90 to the airport not an option? Was going to grab an Uber to the airport after. Now not so sure. Flight is 2 pm.
  14. Not trying to hijack this post, Have not sailed Celebrity for several years. During the 2 magic get loaded hours quickly we can head to some / most bar's for the drinks? We do not have to head to the lounge for our drinks??
  15. If the cruise news I heard last week is true, see below, then Sydney is Number one for charging fees to dock. In the world. I do not have the exact details the person used for this list. Any and all additional information covering this list is appreciated. Reality is the cost model may be a bit steep.
  16. Question: Can I take a card and put it on our account prior to boarding as OBC? We have already fully paid for the trip. Tours & Crew Appreciation. Use it for Spa and or drinks. Would like to use it so if we can add it now I think would be easiest. Yes? No? Thanks in advance.
  17. I wonder will my travel insurance cover the Rebooked Flights? How about the extra meals due to not being on the ship? That night at a hotel you didn't consider? That adds up quick and will negate the cruise line's extra benefits. I'm understand mistakes for sure. In this day and age I do wonder how the IT team cannot consider the number of cabins sold v the number of cabins on-board. Just sayin. Happy Friday all.
  18. Hey, It happened last year. https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/cruises/2023/11/30/royal-caribbean-passengers-denied-boarding/71749345007/
  19. No matter what is stated. Bad PR is not good for a company. If the story of Julie Lenkoff is true, then they have another incident to be discussed. Leaving a passenger in this situation? Lucky her? I cannot wait to hear the tough love discussion. NCL , do better.
  20. After 60 plus days on VO, The most we have ever seen at/in the pool was 4 or 5 folks.
  21. Syrup, No not pure Maple. More like Ms Butterworths. Sweet, and most think it is Maple. So, bring a small container.
