  1. Although shore things bookings open at 120 days so might start to appear in the next few days.
  2. As far as anyone knows the ships will offer the same facilities, but until people are allowed on BL we won’t know for certain. The app doesn’t list information about the thermal spa anyway. Website page is here https://www.virginvoyages.com/fitness-spa#relax-space But there will be YouTube video tours.
  3. The restaurants you should be able to book are Razzle Dazzle, The Wake, Test Kitchen, Gunbae, Pink Agave and Extra Virgin. If you were trying to book one of these, try again and if still not working go on live chat or call VV. You don’t need reservations for the quick service places such as The Dock, Pizza Place, Social Club, Sun Club Cafe and the Galley food court stations.
  4. That’s probably true, but I bet a lot of people still book day-of or similar. It’s just not a booking to stress over needing to sort out immediately after boarding!
  5. To book the spa you just walk to the reception desk and give names and cabin number. I guess someone could do it for someone else. You can probably phone them from the cabin too. Don’t think it’s ever fully booked so don’t stress. The splash of romance party is on a different night, it’s not the first night sailaway. So you can go to the main sailaway and then on another evening there will be the splash of romance party. It’s usually at The Perch deck 17. Might not even be as the ship sails away. But it’s an hour of sparkling wine and/or sangria.
  6. Maybe add a second armchair if getting rid of the bed to become a sofa, although risks the room being too cluttered. It does feel like a sofa of some sort would be missing, but currently converting the bed to a sofa seems a lot of effort each time it needs to be done.
  7. And the technology has nothing to do with Virgin Galactic, the ships use Starlink and/or SLS satellites for the internet connection.
  8. For what it’s worth I’ve never felt a pressure to drink at Gunbae. We shared a table with others and I was the only one with a beer. Sober folk were given water for the drinking game but someone just chose not to drink the shot anyway, there was no pressure. The game is an ice breaker encouraging people to get to know each other, the alcohol is slightly irrelevant. Bingo of course has a cash prize as you pay cash to play. I do agree that maybe they need to offer something else for winning trivia, but you are free to order a mocktail or just take pleasure in winning. Ive had Diet Coke onboard but they seem to have major issues with supply of postmix syrup as they were pouring from cans multiple times and often would only offer Coke Zero. As a general question though, is it normal for bars on land to have iced tea? I’m British so I’m curious as it’s not something I’d expect a bar to have.
  9. I think they were curious what the issue with being seated with drinkers is and why that’s relevant to the overall discussion about whether Gunbae is popular.
  10. Would you wear it to a nightclub on land? If not, don’t wear it to a nightclub at sea either. The dress code is pretty relaxed but most people wear the same as they would in any other night club (well unless your usual is a warehouse rave). there were definitely people by the pool in strappy bikinis, but again it’s the sort of stuff people wear to the pool at a resort anyway.
  11. Originally back in 2021 we did grill our own food, the server put it on and we were given tongs and they just checked in. But something changed late 2021 or early 2022 and they stopped giving tongs to guests. My guess is many people didn’t understand the concept and the server had to take over anyway, so they just had them do the whole thing. I do tell them to leave the pork belly on for longer though!
  12. I find the cabins pretty good, after the late 2021 refresh, looking back at photos of the original 2020/21 rooms they were too bare but the small detail of wood behind the TV made a huge difference. Much prefer it than the old fashioned wood panelling many other lines stick with. Ive never had an issue with storage, it’s better than almost every hotel room I’ve been in, but I’ve not done any other cruise line to compare. After asking for a few extra hangers (plenty of rail, not enough hangers!) we could unpack easily. Maybe they could abandon the idea of the bed converting to the sofa and instead stick to a regular bed and add an extra armchair, with a proper bedside table instead of the space which the sofa swings onto. But it’s not a huge issue.
  13. Currently on the seven night itineraries in Europe it’s menu A (mushroom first course) Sun-Wed and menu B (corn first course) Thur-Sat. You can book each restaurant up to three times on cruises six nights or longer. I think excursion booking opens 120 days before so should be soon for most Brilliant Lady.
  14. One is enough for now, but once booked he will probably need one to do bookings in the app.
  15. Scarlet Lady heads to Europe in April 2024 for the summer and is then expected to spend some time in dry dock, so if she is coming back to the Caribbean in winter 24/25 then it might be a late short season if the dry dock rumour is true.
  16. when we went to Barcelona there was a long queue outside, but once we did check in it was straight onto the ship. It’s the design of the Miami terminal that is poor with a large amount of waiting space after check in that isn’t needed, whereas more seating is needed before check in for those who are early for their arrival slot. In Athens they had a tent set up for people to wait in if they were early for their slot, but only a small queue for check in and security and then directly onto the gangplank.
  17. Yeah I don’t understand why there is the huge waiting room upstairs after you do all the waiting. They really should have had security or check in upstairs to allow space for a waiting area before the check-in desks. Once you’ve done check in there is no reason not to allow people almost straight onto the ship.
  18. The butter chicken was good, I think that is actually Indian food and curry is biggest thing missing on the whole ship now. On the new menu I liked the pork belly starter and the smoked beef main. The pear and filo dessert was fantastic, but the s’mores is just chocolate pudding. I’m pretty sure the green tea cheesecake is on the brunch menu. The milk and cookies have gone but the cheesecake, Razzle cake and churros remain as brunch desserts.
  19. Although I think the new menu actually has more vegetarian/vegan dishes than the old one. But there is more focus on good taste rather than it looking good. A number of the old dishes seemed to be made to be photographed and many of the brunch dishes such as the fairy roast and rainbow churros still are.
  20. We can’t bid yet as on lock it in guarantee rate, but once we have a room assigned we will place some bids.
  21. More reservations come available onboard so you may be able to move things round. It’s a Ship Show is a dinner show and although the food is fine you might find you don’t need a repeat reservation for a main restaurant due to the dinner show. If you aren’t full after the show though you might go find something else though!
  22. Assuming you mean the black and white bow tie pasta, it’s gone. There is a totally new dinner menu for Razzle Dazzle that is delicious but not as flashy to look at.
  23. There is a show at 7 or 8pm and 10pm most nights. So either see the show at 7 and eat at 8.30 or see the show at 10pm and eat at 7pm. Or thereabouts.
  24. It’s either a pull down or an ottoman that folds out to a single bed (or a few rooms might have both) need to check the room on a deck plan or ask when you book to know which. No rooms have sofa beds on VV.
  25. If you have a cruise booked the deep blue extras show under add ons.
