  1. @superoma Google "Transitions Studio" in St. Catharines (on Grantham Avenue). They make wigs. (I think they are for people that are dealing with Cancer as well as other issues.) I will be donating the ponytail that I just had cut off last week. I am close enough to drive there. This will be the second time in the past 8 years that I have done this.
  2. Thank you for the Daily Report! Another windy day here. It has been overcast here for 4 days. Hope to see some sun today.
  3. It has been absolutely pouring rain here since around 4:30 this morning. Non stop. It's also been very windy. My car is in our shop for an oil change today. I went out there and walked under the car to see what the underneath looked like as far as rust, etc. Not bad for an 8 year old car with less than 100,000 Km. It is parked outside year round.
  4. Thank you for the Daily Fleet Report! My husband suggested Chinese food for supper tonight, so I'm sure we will have some stir fried chicken. I will pass on the wine but not the drink as it is my favourite! I have been to Cuba close to 40 times and I have brought home numerous bottles of Havana Club rum over the years. Before 1959 Bacardi was available in Cuba and there is a beautiful building in Havana where their office used to be. The bat symbol was still on top the last time I was there in 2012. One of Cuba's major exports after cigars and coffee is rum. It can be purchased in Canada for @ $25 CDN for the least expensive bottle. In Cuba the exact same bottle is $3.80 CUC (Convertible Cuban Dollars which can only be used on the island). Basically it's a rum and coke with a wedge of lime thrown in. The bars in Cuba don't measure the rum when they make the drink and they can be very generous. Because they don't import Coca-Cola, they use Cuban cola which has a slightly different taste.
  5. Thank you for the Daily Fleet Report! I think I will be putting up the lights outside today. The inside stuff will get done after December 1st. The drink sounds really good and I absolutely love French Onion soup. I've never been to today's port. I totally support small businesses. I try not to break any laws.
  6. @chengkp75 you are absolutely correct. I had forgotten about the ships toilets and that noise. I guess it's time to book another cruise. LOL!!
  7. Thank you for the Daily Fleet Report! I will pass on the drink and the wine. I don't know about the meal yet.
  8. @meh56 pouring water down the toilet helps flush down what is in the toilet. Have you never had to do this in your own home when the water has to be shut off?
  9. @Cat in my lap yes, the water park is inside. There are some with outside water parks, but they are all closed until next spring.
  10. Thank you for the Daily Report. I will skip the meal, but think about trying the drink and the wine sounds good. My dh and I are going away for a one night getaway to ... Niagara Falls. They have an annual charity fund raiser where they price a lot of hotels rooms at a very "cheap" price and the promotion is called "cheap sleep". You have to show that you actually live in the Niagara region to get the deal. I booked us into a hotel with a water park because dh likes it.
  11. Thank you for the Daily Fleet Report. I will pass on the drink and the meal. I might try the wine. I've never been to today's port. Another cold day, but the wind isn't as bad as yesterday.
  12. Thank you for the Daily Fleet Report! The Toronto Argonaut's won the Canadian Football League's 109th Grey Cup by 1 point last night. I will pass on the meal and the wine, but the drink looks good. We have had lots of snow this weekend but nothing like Buffalo. We have also had a lot of wind where I am, so most of the snow got blown away.
  13. My ex in laws took us along on most of the cruises I've been on so that we could help them getting through airports. After a few years they needed wheelchair assistance. My ex mother in law insisted that assistance was needed from the first airport until they reached their cabin on the ship. They always flew through Pearson in Toronto. I don't remember too many issues other than ex mother in law's temper. She could really cause one heck of a fuss when the mood struck her.
  14. @Cruising-along I have noticed that Niagara Falls, Ontario is always full of American tourists on American holidays. Lots of American license plates spotted on the highways near us as well. July 4th is always a very busy day here.
  15. Thank you for the Daily Fleet Report! I will pass on the drink, the food and the wine. I've never been to today's port. Grey Cup is later, but first... dh will be watching all the pregame shows. He is also making himself a small pot of chili. I on't know what I will be having, but it won't be dh's chili. He likes heat in his food. I will be spending time in my library doing counted cross stitch.
  16. We are having our first snow storm of the season that has caused things to close early and warnings from the police regarding driving if it isn't needed. My husband and I have a beautiful fire in the fireplace with apple and pear wood burning at the same time. (We have a friend who owns an orchard.) It isn't anywhere as bad as Buffalo, but it looked like a snow globe out there earlier. @marshhawk I was also going to comment on cider yesterday and totally forgot. To me cider means regular apple cider without alcohol. Hard cider has alcohol. (Somersby's comes to mind.) Because we live in the fruit belt of Ontario, I do see a lot of apple cider available at fruit stands.
  17. Thank you for the Daily Fleet Report! I will pass on the meal and the drink. I've never been to today's port.
  18. Thank you for the Daily Fleet Report! I will pass on the food and drink and wine today. I've never been to today's port. There is snow on our grass, but not on the patio. Cleaning lady comes this morning.
  19. Thank you for the Daily Fleet Report! I will pass on the meal, but I'm fairly certain that I would enjoy the drink and possibly the wine. I've never been to today's port and I look forward to the pictures. Buffalo is supposed to be getting one heck of a storm, but we have nothing here yet and we are fairly close. "Across the river" as everyone here refers to our neighbours to the south.
