  1. Here are the Princess guideline for flights to and from Barcelona. Check the arrival time Princess has stated in your itinerary and go from there. Barcelona Embarking Passengers For voyages departing Barcelona, the latest flight arrival time is 3 hours and 30 minutes prior to ship's departure. Disembarking Passengers For voyages arriving in Barcelona, the earliest flight departure is 4 hours and 15 minutes after ship's arrival.
  2. Sounds like this could potentially mean that Princess will have to offer a lot less sales because the perpetual bidding is like an ongoing sale for them. Clever.
  3. Same here. We get the Mini-suite or suite we want at the best price offered and the mystery is taken out of it. We also are usually put on certain airline upgrade lists but have just learned it is easier to purchase FC and be done with it. At least with the airline's we fly you know where you are on the upgrade list. I wonder if Princess will be as transparent with their bidding process and lists?
  4. Thanks for setting the record straight and not even having to resort to sarcasm to do it. Refreshing CC post.
  5. I agree. Wearing a mask when required, getting a test and vaccinated are just such small inconveniences that I still wonder what people are like when real challenges/struggles occur in their lives?
  6. I think Princess is probably very lax in this area. We had one family friend who had vaccination waived by Princess for personal beliefs (they were really political) and it was just a matter of making two phone calls. We just had a recent family member on a cruise who tested positive for Covid 7 days before cruise. They got their doctor to write a letter that they had been treated and were asymptomatic even though they tested p[ositive on day 7. Princess allowed them to board 10 day cruise with that letter and with no further testing. Both people in their cabin came down with Covid. One of the stops was Prince Rupert and they were allowed off the ship without questions from any authorities. Princess is basically all talk and no walk when it comes to their Covid protocols it seems.
  7. Please. Do not keep us in suspense. What will you do??
  8. The game is Princess makes it sound like you are doing something really nice for their employees for basic services and not the corporation. Get real. It is a corporate scheme to avoid taxes and pay a living wage. What is it you do not understand???
  9. Some. I will bet a least 50% or will ignore and lie about it and this is based on several of our earlier cruises this year where at least that many passengers ignored Princess' recommended health protocols on the ship. Princess will need to increase the number of quarantine cabins but you can bet they are not increasing medical staff.
  10. A tip is for someone going the extra mile when it comes to some type of service and not just doing their job. It is easy to see why America broke from the British because we would rather tip for effort than have all of our tax monies go to prop up a phony monarchy that does NO work. Strictly a values thing mate.
  11. Really…..when we in London for 10 days this summer not one of the many times we tipped anyone was the tip ever returned but we always received a sincere appreciation response. Some Brits are just full of themselves….boring!!
  12. I am certainly not a consistent winner on cruise ships but do receive casino offers. I am not interested in them and find them often hard to use for the cruises we do. I do not spend a lot of time in the casinos either. I play table games and the Princess Casino hosts and mangers have told me that it is easier for people to rack up points on the slots. However, on the table games they say they RATE (that is their term) you when you are betting a minimum of $25 a hand which seems to be consistent when I compare offers with other family members who gamble way more than I do and play Craps, Blackjack, Three Card Poker, ie..
  13. I said it is correlated with the passengers POTENTIAL or past loss rate which factors in the amount wagered. If you are a consistent winner then congratulations but in the last 16 months Nevada casinos have been taking in 1.2 plus BILLION dollars a month in WINNINGS so someone is definitely not doing well. That is an average loss of over $40 million dollars a day in Nevada alone. Who really knows what goes on in cruise ship casinos because they are not regulated and report to no state agencies. It does seem that their payouts are way less than US mainland casinos for what is wagered especially in slots.
  14. LOL Casinos never give away anything FREE. It is all calculated on the person's past loss rate or potential loss rate. Casinos always eventually win and MOST people always lose on cruise ships. I am sure people are willing to show their print outs of exactly how much they play and win which are kept by the cruise lines to prove me wrong. It is amazing how much money people are willing to throw around in a cruise casino to get a free "inside cabin and $300" in free play which often do not apply to many cruises or destinations.
  15. Several weeks ago in San Francisco one of our traveling members boarding the Ruby had a special wine suitcase that held 10 bottles of very expensive wines. She had it go on with her regular luggage and it was all delivered to her room without questions? No corkage fee was charged either which she was willing to pay but was never asked to pay. Every night in the dining room the wait staff commented on the high quality of the wines she would bring to the table. I was totally shocked it happened but it did. Maybe some ports or ships are more lack than others?
  16. I do not like to wear them because they make me look short.
  17. They do not do it because the demand is not there for the amount of time and energy the cruise lines have to invest in renting. Casual dress is the new normal.
  18. We were just on a European cruise and there was nothing precious about the way people dressed. It just is not true.
  19. This is so true. Princess does not even rent them onboard like they use to!!
  20. We have been on many European and Med cruises and never noticed much difference in the dress then on other Princess cruises. We have seen over the years where there are less and less formal wear being worn by men and women and also Princess is not really enforcing a strict dress code any more it seems. Wear what you will be comfortable in that matches what Princess calls now "dressing elegantly." They have really dropped "formal". There are still many on Princess who love to say you will be in the minority if you do not dress in proper formal attire but the reality is you will be in the majority.
  21. Agree. We have been to Alaska 2 times on a cruise and then I worked there and was flown all over the state in a bush plane. To me the cruise was like seeing a fake or artificial form of Alaska. We have traveled all over the world on Princess and like you have been to the Mediterranean many times and never bored. Have been on two South Pacific cruises and would do those again in a minute. To see the Southern sky at night, the beauty of those islands, the feeling of truly being in paradise and the friendliness of the inhabitants is really worth a once in a lifetime experience. I would recommend go for your dream. You can go to old, cold, and over-cruised Alaska any time.
  22. I agree.....most of the cruises we have been on this year plus an 18 day TA people were not dressing to the nines on Formal Nights. I think all of this talk how people really dress up on formal nights on Princess is becoming wishful thinking or CC Myth. Women especially seem to really have wide latitude in that some billowy pants, sandals and an old sparkly top count for formal attire on Princess?
