  1. Good choice, because you do not have to be worried about being put in quarantine on a cruise ship when you get Covid which is not the case with land vacations.
  2. We have done 50 plus days this year. I support Princess having Covid protocols on their ships and not a free for all like some would like. As I indicated earlier our family including my wife and myself caught Covid on a Princess ship with very little Covid prevention. It was not fun, ruined a potential fun family vacations, cost quite a bit of money because luggage was lost in transfer from isolation and other costs. We are still dealing with Princess on some of their "Covid guarantees." It has nothing to do with fear but the reality that Princess could do more instead of putting passengers through substantial risks and interruptions to their lives. It felt much safer at the beginning of the year on their ships. Now it is definitely not OK being on one of their floating Petri dishes. It is everywhere on their ships.
  3. Exactly how many cruises have you done since the Princess' restart with the pandemic? Any at all??
  4. But you do not get put in quarantine on a cruise ship if you have a cold or other common elements and do not suffer longterm health consequences for catching a cold. Princess has enough data to know which protocols have protected their guests and which have not and they can do more instead of doing nothing. Your comments are just points of view and not facts of life or proper medical advice or practices. Cruises are still super spreader events in this day and age as a form of travel. And from some of the tone of frequent posters on CC they seem to like it that way too. Which makes cruising even more of a health risk.
  5. Singing draws too much attention but you are wearing a tiara and sash? Love it!! Happy Birthday.
  6. So well stated. I agree too that Princess did away with protocols too early and all it has done is create havoc for many passengers who paid good money to cruise and not get Covid.
  7. Hope all goes well with your cruise and that you and your parents are able to stay healthy and enjoy the cruise. Maybe Celebrity has more responsible crew and passengers then what we have witnessed on our most recent Covidfest Pricess cruises.
  8. Princess promises are really the same as "talking out both sides of their mouths" as we know now about how they really deal with Covid on their ships and treat the passengers they infected.
  9. We are making decisions based on what Princess is advertising as "Cruise With Confidence" and "We Want To Make Sailing With Princess Cruises As Easy, Hassle-Free and Safe as Possible." They are doing a bait and switch because they advertise that their ships are safe to travel on but the reality, which has been reported on CC many times, is that they are not in regards to Covid and they are not enforcing their own health protocols even when the Captain requests it of all passengers. It is a joke. They just need to say if "You Want To Catch Covid Cruise With Us." That is reality.
  10. This is how how family wish we had handled it. We could have taken much better our family members if they were in the cabin and still isolated somewhere with very little support. Not to mention trying to get refunds for surplus on their folio, money from casino account and lost luggage because passengers in isolation have their luggage handled differently. Would have saved so much hassle and cost to have just stayed quiet the way Princess handles Covid cases in our experience.
  11. Agree. The Princess brand is changing and not for the better in our opinion. Too many cuts in many areas, especially for Elites, and the price keeps going up with not much new. We had done several Alaska cruises on Princess before and found them to be outstanding. The one we did this year the whole family felt it bordered on mediocrity at so many different levels. We are still hoping that what we have experienced so far in the last year and a half is a result of them dealing with Covid issues and not being able to really focus on a true quality product and experience.
  12. Agree. Princess needs to stop with this "we care about your health" while they allow a dangerous activity for all like smoking to go on in their casinos. It is a myth that banning smoking in casinos hurts a casinos bottom line. Why should a few be allowed to make it miserable for many. Second hand smoke is not healthy for all involved and that should be what princess should be focused on is making their ship environments healthier. Just ban smoking in their ships' casinos or create a separate enclosed area in the casino where smokers can gamble but they are the only ones breathing their disgusting smoke and carcinogens. It is definitely the most annoying thing on their cruises for us.
  13. Agree with everything you are saying. It happened to me and 4 of my family members while on the Ruby earlier this summer and two days after getting off the ship. It is not just like a cold if you get it contrary to what some people on CC always promote. Two family members were quarantined on the ship in separate cabins and the rest of us dealt with it afterwards. Cruise ships get focused on because they quarantine people and provide little or no medical care other than isolation. Usually this is happening on cruises of 10 days or longer. It may be here to stay but it is evolving and we have not come close to beating the virus. Sail on.
  14. Yes. It is called Formal Nights. Pretty scary for some what some of the folks wear on Formal Nights according to the Formal Night threads on CC.
  15. Agree. You should have to be CC Royal Exalted Elite before you have the right to start an enlightening thread. 😀
  16. They would have you meet with Fortuna Luck first to cheer you to your senses.
  17. Same here. We left our number two days in a row for call back and nada. Is it for real?
  18. I wonder if waitlist will be a thing of the past when the new bidding system starts. For example we often book a Mini-suite and then have to wait list for a Club Class Mini suite to be come available. Just wonder if that will even be an option anymore?
  19. We cruise Princess because they have Fortuna Luck! Our #1 reason.
  20. Same thing happened earlier this year on the Island Princess crossing to South Hampton via Iceland. Internet was useless and Princess finally did a refund of all fees. But it was frustrating because it was never really clearly stated why the internet was so intermittent and rarely functional.
  21. That's what actually makes her fun and funny. I doubt Fortuna Luck is going away anytime soon because most of the times we have seen her people are fine with her. Just chuckling that people are so upset at a character on a cruise ship.
  22. Agree that she is a very positive character and it is really hard to understand the Fortuna Haters on CC because she is harmless. Maybe they find the make a paper airplane, egg drop, guess the number in the jar contests way more enlightening Princess activities. But at least they have turned their fire on someone else besides those who do not wear formal dress to the MDR on formal nights. I feel like we are all growing on CC.
  23. A harmless character and funny that is used in Bingo and a few other ventures to liven up the activity. No less annoying than a yappy humorless cruise director.
