  1. We just used 20 to pay off a cruise last week with no problem applying them at the website.
  2. God Bless America. We have the freedom to pay for services we want or not.
  3. We always book the Sanctuary upon boarding and have never had a problem getting the loungers we want and have never seen a Sanctuary full. We usually take longer cruises and often they do not lend themselves to B2B's so maybe that is why.
  4. Flower orders are now taken at the passenger services desk when you board Princess ships. They cannot be ordered online anymore on the cruises we have done in the last two years.. Princess really has a beautiful assortment of flower arrangements for all occasions. We find their prices very good (one of the best bargains on the ships) and their arrangements easily last 10 days. We usually order the Princess Bouquet which is an arrangement for $39.00. Flowers arrangements are usually delivered to your room that day or whatever day you request. It is a tradition of ours to always have fresh flowers in our cabin. Also, we have never had problems bringing flowers on a cruise when we are in foreign ports and have bought flowers from local markets. The cabin steward has always been able to find us a vase.
  5. More like "Your Connection Is Lost In Space" knowing how the Princess crack tech team does things.
  6. Same here. We always tip a minimum of $5.00 per bag at the airport (usually travel with 6 suit cases plus carryons), up to the room, when we leave the hotel, doorman putting it in the limo and at the port. It can gets a little bit pricey but we appreciate any help we can get while traveling plus we believe in "what goes around comes around!" I wonder how many of the port non-tippers remove their auto-gratuities too? I am just amazed at how many people on Princess CC need so much prior information to travel - what should I tip, when should I get to the port, where can I smoke, what should I wear, what is on the menu, what is in the patter, who is the restaurant manager or activities director and the list goes on and on. Go with the flow or the spirit of adventure appears not to be the mantra for a many of the cruisers on Princess ships.
  7. On the Alaskan cruises we have been on, usually 10 day cruises, the MDR's on formal nights are always unusually casual. We always comment what would the folks on CC be saying now!!! You will be in the minority if you are dressed to the nines on a Princess Alaskan cruise.
  8. To some, maybe many, "not welcome" is not exactly the same thing as a "hard no" or "not permitted".🙂
  9. However, many more people have always mentioned on CC and some with pictures that the dress code is not usually enforced and shorts and a wide variety of casual clothes are easily worn in the MDR's on "Formal" nights. Princess has definitely changed their standards from what is posted and even in some Patters calling formal night "Elegant Night or Dress to Impress." It is amazing that some have so little confidence in many cruisers knowing how to put their big britches on and gain admittance to a cruise ship dining room. We are up to 13 pages and it really will change nothing and rarely are people turned away from MDR's IMHO so nothing to really worry about.
  10. With all do respect to the formalists, Princess cannot even enforce the one suggested dress code it has across its' fleet and now we think that they will be able to do it for three different dining sections in the MDR. I am not sure that the three different levels of dining have anything to do with dress code yet but maybe it has more to do with food selections and cuisine. But the mystery is that nothing has been clearly stated and things do change until ship launch.
  11. We had a clever and pretty realistic little dog done on our last cruise in our suite one day. It was a surprised and stayed with us the whole cruise. We have had it done a few times on Princess over the years. Some stewards have worked for other cruise lines so it could be a carry over from there. I would just thank them but tell them you need the space. Honesty is always the best policy.
  12. Nor does it define what formality means. I am sure whatever is suggested will not be enforced so nothing new or to get excited about. For many casual is not the opposite of formal but the opposite of confined. To many people, especially Americans, clothes are freedom to represent how we choose to present ourselves to the world. People do not wear their social class on their sleeves like they did in the early years of cruising. The world has steadily gone more casual and Princess is sailing upstream if it thinks it can change that and not change with the times.
  13. Not for us. Anyway Princess has been taking away from Elite benefits not adding and I do not think they feel they need to add because their Elites probably do not venture far from Princess.
  14. It is on the Grand Class ships because of cabins below the gym is often not even opened until 7:00 AM and it was common pre-covid to see the treadmill having signs on them saying they could not be used until 8:00 AM. All other equipment could. Recently on the Crown Princess passengers wanted Princess to open the gym before 7:00AM but the Spa Manager was unwilling to do that. One of the many reasons we prefer the Royal Class ships because you can use the gyms 24 hours a day on the ships we have been on.
  15. Study after study indicates that banning smoking does not hurt business. Airlines are still flying, bars are still full and restaurants are thriving where smoking has been banned. https://www.reviewjournal.com/business/casinos-gaming/smoking-ban-no-longer-a-threat-to-casino-revenue-report-says-2594067/ As the article says it is hard for companies to pretend they are keeping you safe "while at the same time allowing others to blow known carcinogenic chemicals in your face."
  16. Oh noooooo - we need them so it stays Cruise Critic. I am not sure Cruise Compliment would be a successful site for cruisers and useful information. Some people just always look at what's wrong about life instead of what's right. We have rarely experienced problems on a cruise and are certainly capable of getting it resolved on ship instead of posting pictures and comments and hoping for people to agree with "ain't it awful!"
  17. Same with us. Some people's plates are half full and others are always half empty. Princess seems to have done a really outstanding job of getting their ships up and running again, integrating new crew and are offering interesting cruise itineraries again. What's not to like.
  18. I understand your point however with all due respect they do not say in what year they witnessed this style foul. We have done 80+ days cruising with Princess and not seen anyone on the Alaskan, Hawaiian, California Coastal, Mexico or TA and British Isles cruises we were on turned away on Formal Nights or other nights for not explicitly following the dress suggestions. I believe the general tone of comments in this forum has been that Princess has noticeably loosened their dress standards on formal nights. I agree with the poster too who noted fear of a complaint or bad evaluation might make staff think twice about a conflict over dress since the styles very so widely on any given day or night.
  19. Flower arrangements are now ordered at the Guest Services Desk on Princess ships. We think their flower arrangements are one of the best deals on the ships. They are usually delivered same day as ordered and last from a week to 10 days.
  20. This is true. It seems like the majority of cruisers we have seen on Formal Nights do not rigidly follow the SUGGESTED Princess dress codes.
  21. We have been in CC 4 different times in the last year on four different Princess ships and the only side specialty dish offered in CC on all 4 ships were all different pasta dishes each night.
  22. Formal attire is not required on formal nights in specialty restaurants. This has been true for a long time on Princess. Maybe people interpret what was posted as meaning that but that is not the reality for Princess passengers.
  23. One of the things we have definitely witnessed since being with Princess many years is that they do not consistently enforce any of their rules. Another thing we have noticed is that we are always in Club class and we have never seen anyone turned away no matter what they are wearing. Shorts, men in shorts with tights, baseball caps, over-all, etc. has all been allowed. This is also true for the specialty restaurants now that I think about it. It may happen more in the MDR's because there are always people at the doors monitoring the seating situation whereas it is not true for CC or other dining venues on Princess.
  24. I agree. Yet another one of those you MUST follow the dress code or you will wreck my dining experience or if you leave your pool lounger unattended I will REMOVE your possessions and use it. etc. Seems like people pick and choose which Princess policies they think apply to them and those which they just choose to ignore and do what they want. Disorderly embarkation is OK but disorderly dress on formal nights in MDR is a crime. 🙂
  25. We play Blackjack and have been told that a minimum of a $25 bet on a hand gets the most bang for the buck when being rated on BJ tables and we usually always get casino offers of some kind.
