  1. Does this take into account all the viewers that may have watched it on other forms for media beside televisions. Like the saying goes, "There's no such thing as bad publicity." However, I am sure Princess prefers this type of tv show versus the Netflix show "Hell of a Cruise." I cannot believe the anger over a fun TV show. Wow! 😂
  2. The Crew Appreciation concept seems to be based on the US principle and concept that you will get a participation trophy just for showing up whether you play in the game or not. 🏆😀
  3. Sounds like there is no problem then. 75% of passengers are on board with Auto Tip and Princess allows others to make a choice to participate or not. Win/Win!
  4. All speculation and opinion and not based in reality. Cruisers are the ones who are greedy???? That is rich!! Passengers still do have the right to remove Crew Appreciation from their folios, give lower amounts or tip privately and personally and maybe even give more so what are you saying?
  5. With all due respect I doubt anyone knows the corporate intentions of CCL's for Crew Appreciation scheme and also that they do not know the the tax situation or country tax tables for each crew member on the ship. If Princess is so benevolent then why did they change the system from where we were able to tip to who and how much we wanted on each cruise. It really is a salary supplement and nothing more and there is nothing wrong with that but they should just lump it in the fare and be transparent. We know that Princess saves a tremendous amount in corporate taxes by structuring this income in this manner and passing the tax burden on to its' crews.
  6. People in hell want ice water too but that does not mean they are going to get it. Our expectation is that tipping will be based on service, attitude and gratitude. We do generously tip but it is not automatic and we decide how much when and where. We still control our money and we decide what we will do with it not the corporations which some on CC make it sound like they are greedy because they do not want to pay taxes with their Crew Appreciation scheme as some have defined it??
  7. In all the cruises we have done this year and in the past we have not witnessed that in Club Class. Of course it seems like it has been a couple of years that we have been on a full Princess cruise and also we tend to do 15, 20 and 25 plus day cruises.
  8. The one perk I would like to see Princess add is a dedicated Customer Service Line for Elites with more veteran CSR's working those lines. The airlines, hotels and rental car companies do it and it certain would save a lot of frustration and wasted time for their most loyal customers.
  9. The horns great and extremely clever. Awesome way to promote their brand and bring many smiles to peoples' faces at the same time.
  10. We were on a Princess ship when a show was being filmed. The Princess staff photographers were more of an annoyance on many days and nights than the film crew and actors. Plus, do you think they are really going to want a lot of us Princess passengers in a reality show knowing the demographic that will probably be on the ship. I think not.
  11. That's the way we read it too and it is very clear. Happy to test to cruise to keep everyone healthy. Team work makes the dream work.
  12. We were kept separate and not allowed to make contact with family member only by message through Passenger Services or room telephone. Honestly, it was a little nerve racking not knowing what was really happening. It did wreck what was a good cruise for our family and still dealing with lost luggage and refunds from the ordeal with Princess and insurances.
  13. If it was a 3 to 7 day cruise Covid will not usually be an issue on the ships but after people get home. On the 4 cruises we have done from 10 to 30 days it seemed that around day 7/8/or 9 that people who were vaxed and tested started developing symptoms and the spread continued from there. Length of cruise has a lot to do with Covid on ships. Carnival cruises out of Long Beach often do not reach that threshold on most of their cruises.
  14. They are predicting the storm of the decade to hit Alaska this weekend. https://www.cnn.com/2022/09/15/weather/alaska-typhoon-remnant-storm-weekend/index.html
  15. We do not mind paying for additional and upgraded services. We always fly FC so there is no reason we should not have access to that level of service on a cruise ship too. Like the way Princess is innovating.
  16. This is the same thing that happened on an Alaska cruise this summer to our family and there were a lot of sick people. People are paying a lot of money to end up quarantining instead of cruising. Princess is at fault for saying their ships are safe and worry free from Covid. I am sure they will not appreciate the new Peacock special on one of their ships. Hope your husband has a healthy recovery.
  17. I do not think "Big Medallion" is watching. We just turn on the TV and let the video play. The only thing we have seen is that you cannot watch other TV programs until the safety video has played. There seems to be no way anyone has any idea if we are are watching or not as long as the video plays through.
  18. So many factors involved in this. Even though Princess has a "suggested dress code" we have seen many times passengers in the MRD's with shorts and other prohibited dress too. You just never know based on the ship, crew and itinerary.
  19. Point is it is impossible for passengers to know what fare other passengers got on the same cruise. There are all kinds of deals all the time. I do not believe TA's always or even often get the best deals. Simple as that and never will. We do not need them and sometimes on our cruise we have $2000 in OBC's which no TA is going to be able to match.
  20. What you pay is what you pay and if Princess has a casino rate that a person qualifies for and it beats a rate a TA can get for the same cruise and cabin category I will take the casino rate. It has nothing do to with fairness. But posting a temporary booking without final payment being made proves nothing. It is all smoke and mirrors in saying TA's are the only ones who get get great discounted rates on Princess.
  21. Proves nothing because prices change all the time on Princess. We get much better deals with a casino rate then that. But glad you are happy with your TA but most people who know travel know that TA’s really have very little unique training that a regular person cannot do the same travel arrangements themselves. We still find dealing with Princess as the best option.
  22. We are the same way and have traveled for so many years for business and leisure that we are very aware and informed of getting excellent bookings with cruise lines, airlines, hotels and rental car companies. You really do give up a lot of control if something goes wrong with a travel reservation. You are almost always going to be told to contact who every did the reservation instead of being dealt with directly. I think there may be some TA’s on CC who promote the idea you cannot live without a TA.
