  1. Unfortunately we are in the UK and it’s virtually impossible to get through to Princess here. I don’t really want the 50% as OBC as we will be paying in GBP so the OBC would be in US$ and we already have plenty of OBC . I might try installing the app on a different device or phoning our TA but I know they are also taking hours to get through to Princess. Thanks for all your replies
  2. So what’s the advice then, do you buy it at the higher price and get the difference back . Also why did it work a few days ago then. Just editing to clarify I saw a thread about internet if people had Princess Plus but I thought it was about the order for the internet disappearing from the app so didn’t think it was relevant. Perhaps I should have read on further into the thread??
  3. Went to book the medallion net for our forthcoming cruise a few days ago but didn’t get round to doing it. Went in to order it today with exactly a week to go and the price has doubled. Is that normal for the price to double the week before boarding? We are Elite so should get 50% off perhaps it hasn’t picked that up today but did a few days ago??? Any advice please?
  4. Have you tried checking whatsinport.com it gives you info about all cruise ports and normally a cruise ship list for each port with which Terminal they are docking at.
  5. Don't they dock near the little mermaid in Copenhagen anymore? I know last time we docked miles away but I was hoping that was a one off. We've walked into town in Helsinki, it's not far unless of course they have changed the dock since.
  6. We bought some wide rolls of sellotape , 2 or 3 rolls for £1 ( guess where from) and when folded up sellotape on each side, then staple together, been doing that for years and never had a label break. In fact you have to cut off with scissors when you get home, not just rip off.
  7. Just what I was going to say. If in the unlikely circumstances you are challenged just tell them he can't wear a jacket. As for shoes ladies wear all sorts of weird things , so no reason why he can't wear what is comfortable. I'm sure I have seen someone in slippers as they had feet problems.
  8. We did as well in June but we told the Steward not to bother as long as we got the Patter for the next day's activities we didn't need our cabin done twice a day. There was no chocolates whether you had turn down or not. We will do the same next month , don't see the point of making them work harder if not needed.
  9. Plus he does great talks on the stars, sky at night etc
  10. Fingers crossed he is still there in November 🤞
  11. Can you perhaps book a new cruise and upgrade to a higher grade of cabin. Although I assume if you have only paid the deposit it wouldn’t perhaps be worth it.
  12. Sorry forgot to say this was with another cruise line where you didn’t get free shuttles only the ones provided if in a working port. I don’t know what the story is with P & O is if you have a saver fare and therefore don’t get shuttles.
  13. When we had Grandkids with us, we caught the local tram in Zeebrugge . You have to get the free shuttle out of the working port. Turn right out of the port and walk to little paper shop ( I think it is) and buy tram tickets . Wait in middle bit of road and catch the tram to Blankenberge. We got off at the Sea life and went in there. We did intend to go into Blankenberge afterwards as we bought all day tickets but couldn’t be bothered so just caught tram back. You will have to Google which stop to get off on. I am also sure some people didn’t bother to get a tram ticket, intending to get on tram, and just walked on the tram and as it was busy no one asked for money or queried it. But I wouldn’t do that in case an inspector gets on. We bought the sea life tickets the day before or even that morning online and it amazingly asked how much we wanted to pay for them , so we stuck an amount it and it gave us 6 tickets. Bargain
  14. Exactly , stick it in an easy access savings account each month instead if you are worried about budgeting.
  15. The trouble is I think the internet is more expensive when you board , so it's a decision whether to pay before or pay more once you board and get it deducted from OBC. Unless anyone knows any difference, perhaps if you book it on the day you board for example. If anyone does know , please share
  16. Yes I can't see how to use it before using the OBC. The price on the app is in GBP and the OBC is in US$ Is one obstacles. We have a lot of OBC to use which is why I wanted it taken from that. When we cruised in June it was a lot more expensive once you got onboard. Now whether it is cheaper if you do it the first day onboard I don't know.
  17. Yes I think you have to be careful what you send down which is why as I said above I didn't send anything that could shrink. I didn't send any of my evening dresses either. But it is really handy for anyone that are flying to the cruise.
  18. We did use the laundry service on our last cruise as it was our first as Elite but I did not send any of my underwear ( don't think I could wear them afterwards not knowing how many hands they had been through) hubby didn't seem to mind his going. I didn't send my jeggings or t-shirts as was worried about them shrinking. So all in all it was mainly hubby's stuff we sent. We did send his dinner suit down , not sure how or if it was cleaned but it came back nicely pressed as did all his shirts. Even my nightie came back pressed and on a coat hanger.
  19. If you had sailed with P & O before December 2017 you could get the points added if you had booked, but not necessarily sailed, a Princess cruise before that date. Now it seems some people have been lucky and have had the points added recently. It's a bit hit and miss but I would say it is always worth asking and saying that others have had them added.
  20. Our TA advises to change to a random cruise and then change it back. They did that for me on a cruise earlier in the year and managed to get the cabin next door to the one I had before, We also moved our Arvia cruise recently to a month earlier to take advantage of the extra OBC. P & O do not charge for moving a cruise but they probably do charge for changing cabins on an already booked cruise, which is why the TA is saying book a random cruise then rebook original. Of course the main problem the OP has is the flight. If P& O offer free transfer the TA should not charge you extra, ours definitely doesn’t. I would ask to move to a different TA but also not use them again.
  21. Reading comments elsewhere on this it seems an incorrect invoice always goes out sending people into a pannic understandingly. Some have been told to ignore that invoice as it is an automatic response. Now why everyone can't be told to ignore it beats me. Or better still fix the system so it doesn't send out incorrect invoices.
  22. Yes it is handy not having to rummage for a card but as you say the app is a different matter. What a palaver a few months ago when they were obviously upgrading or something but didn’t think to tell anyone. We were going from green lane to yellow and back again and again. All our dining was disappearing or changing. A few days later it sorted itself out, but this happened a few times. We could only conclude they were doing something in the background but a simple note on the app saying this similar to notifications you get from your bank would have been handy and would have stopped all the panicking on social media, one couple even cancelled their cruise because they thought they wouldn’t be able to get to grips with it.
  23. Where do they do the refit then, do they do it whilst at sea because presumably they don’t do it at the terminal the ship docked at?
  24. Reading all these cases all I can say is thank goodness for our wonderful NHS. If someone was taken ill off the coast of the UK they wouldn’t wait around for insurance details before they treated them. As per the Government website Treatment in A&E departments and at GP surgeries remains free for all.
