Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. You don't have to disembark until after breakfast 7 or 8 o'clock or so. There is a restroom on the bus,
  2. We sailed on Niew Statendam out of FLL January 7th. At embarkation there was a long line of people with paper boarding passes that was hardly moving at all. One employee was off to the side, letting people know that if they had passes on the app or otherwise on their phones that they could go on through. We bypasses the line with the printed passes and boarded in no time at all.
  3. How old is your niece? We will be on January 7th NS for 7 days with our daughter who will turn 18 soon. We went on a cruise to Alaska last May and she had no one close to her age to spend time with.
  4. Our first HA cruise was in May 2022 to Alaska and we knew nothing about tiles and didn't get any. Maybe we will get some on our Jan 7 Nieuw Statendam cruise. They sound kind of cool! Thanks for all the answers.
  5. Do you have to be a certain Mariner level to get the tiles?
  6. I don’t know anything about tiles. Are they something for certain Mariner levels or for anyone? Thanks Glenn
  7. Thanks Crew News Sounds good and would make life a lot easier. Glenn
  8. Thanks for all the good advice. We will be coming off the Nieuw Statendam and flying Southwest. I don't know anything about Luggage Direct and will check it out. It sounds useful..We try to travel light, three carry on small suitcases and maybe one large one for formal dress clothes and gifts.
  9. We are scheduled to return Jan 14 when the ship arrives at 7:00AM. We have a 1:15 PM flight from FLL. HAL transfer is $19 pp and we are three. Would a taxi or Uber/Lyft be better? We are not looking forward to hanging around the airport for too many hours. Other ideas? Thanks
  10. We will be on Niew Statendam on Jan 7th. We also saw a few video tours on YouTube. We are looking forward to it.
  11. VICD1969 stated that teens would enjoy interesting itineraries outside of 7 day Caribbean sailings. We are planning a 7 day Easter Caribbean trip from Ft. Lauderdale in January with our 17 year old. Are you suggesting that we might not find it interesting? Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Thomas, and Half Moon Cay. We have not been to any of those places, and plan to explore Ft. Lauderdale, as we have not been there either. Thanks
  12. We have taken a cruise to Alaska where we had internet for two, and we shared, no problem. We get a specialty dinner for two, so we expect to pay for her and for her gratuities. We will have to evaluate excursions. She really doesn't even like soda, so water and ice tea should suffice. No way anyone in our party will have 15 drinks of any kind. Thanks for the help.
  13. We just booked a seven day cruise on the Niew Statendam with the HIA package. We are a couple with a teenage daughter. Our booking shows a $100 excursion credit for the first two passengers, along with specialty dining, prepaid gratuities and the drink package. Our understanding is that the Specialty Drink package (if purchased) must be purchased for everyone in a cabin. Will we be provided the package for three or we will be forced to buy a drink package for our daughter? HAL says the drink package cannot be shared. Thanks in advance for any guidance.
  14. We ate dinner at Pinnacle on the Noordam last night, May 19th. No King Crab to be found. Supply chain issues were blamed.
