  1. I think I found an answer--according a to a youtube video, if the room sleeps four, the bed is under the window because 2 beds come down from above. If it sleeps two the bed is on the side wall. Looks like we just made it into "sleeps two territory" and should be o.k.
  2. My move up bid was successful, and I moved from interior to prime ocean view, but I forgot about the fact that I wouldn't be choosing my location! This cabin is beneath the Tuscan Restaurant, but not the kitchen. The celebrity website shows me a nice window the seat next to it and the bed against the wall--but other pictures elsewhere show the tiny porthole over the headboard of the bed. Does anyone know which kind of window I will have? I looked it up on the deck maps, etc., and it is definitely a different color and location than the ones further aft and right under the kitchen (regular ocean view).
  3. I'm pretty sure that when I did that for a cruise coming January, they charged me the current price for the second person. Since it's in May, why not wait for a sale?
  4. Yes--you can order all of the specialities in any of the 4 restaurants on e-class ships.
  5. Thanks for the heads up! I just scored premium drinks and wifi for my cruise!
  6. I really loved standing on deck 5 or whichever it was on the Equinox, looking out over the Atrium and watching people in the glass elevators! I'm not a big people watcher at beaches or malls, etc., but those snapshots of peoples' lives in the elevators were something I enjoyed more than expected! The Equinox was my first cruise, and I loved the feeling of the ship. I wasn't crazy about the Apex last summer, but the Beyond was much better (the only thing I liked better on Apex was the art on the ramp seating area at the back of Eden)--but other than Eden and the walking track, I preferred the Equinox.
  7. Great review. I totally agree that the flow on the Solstice Class ships is better than the Edge Class. The only thing I'll really miss when I go on the other ships is Eden--Eden on the Edge Class ships is beyond awesome. Otherwise, I'm a bit ho-hum about them--I prefer traditional dining and some quiet places on ships where there is no music.
  8. I hear you--I actually liked my IV on Beyond last summer. For some reason it really opened up the room and made it seem bigger than the verandah made a verandah room feel. Not sure why--so I'm pretty happy with either. But I don't think they are the same thing, either.
  9. Completely different--it's an actual balcony, I've had one. You can get outside in the fresh air and close the door, etc. I was solo--it is rather narrow for two, I will admit, but traveling solo, it was fine.
  10. Mine have always been pending until a couple days before. I got one and lost one.
  11. There is no comparison, I think it's badly misnamed. All it is a is a coffee stop in the buffett.
  12. Here's why they won't tell you they will improve quality--that would mean admitting they had been selling a low quality product. It's one thing to say "yes, we cut back on choices, we're going back to more choices"--they are NEVER going to say, "we cut back on quality."
  13. I had one forward on Apex and loved it. Very narrow, works better for 1 person than 2, but at least it's a real balcony.
  14. If there are no sunset veradahs on Apex, take the other ship if you want a verandah. The Infinite Verandah on e-class ships is a window (a nice one, I quite liked mine)--but it's not an actual outdoor verandah.
  15. Breakfast is free for all in the MDR, and it's the only place with the strawberries and blueberries--almost all melon for fruit at the buffet.
  16. Main dining room! You can get strawberries and raspberries there in addition to your protein! I hate the melon-heavy buffet, though I understand the logic of it. On my last cruise, I was surprised at how many folks didn't seem to know that breakfast at the MDR was complimentary.
  17. Glad to hear an actual experience with this--I've read that's true, and your experience is confirmation, thanks!
  18. In my opinion, the spa cafe lunches are better than the Eden lunches, but the Eden dinners can't be beat!
  19. My post about the chairs outside Eden was about the chairs on the deck outside, not the chairs in the hallway leading to Eden inside. The outside ones are just ordinary patio furniture etc.
  20. Gotcha, I thought the discussion was more general, sorry. 🙂
  21. Princess is one of the few cruise lines that has a permit for Glacier Bay--I assume that ups the demand.
  22. If I'm not mistaken, you don't need any package at all if you don't want the internet. The ship's wifi works on the ship for the app, and you can contact others through app, order food etc.
  23. On both Apex last summer and Beyond this summer there was music everywhere all the time, I couldn't get away from it. I did find a place on beyond--sit out on deck outside the Eden cafe when it's closed (almost all the time)--nice seats and it's quiet, you can't hear stuff from Eden when you're outside.
  24. Just pay for each drink as you go. You'll save money in the end, anyway. Drink packages are more for convenience than real savings in most cases, I think.
