  1. The up-charge at LeBistro is due to it being topped with foie Gras. Many people have posted that if you ask to have that removed, the surcharge goes away.
  2. Sabor on Harmony is absolutely open air. I would love for you to post a picture of the front door and windows showing it’s enclosed. Might be different on other ships, but on Harmony it is not fully enclosed. See pic.
  3. Menus change very infrequently. Don’t count on much changing.
  4. I’ve never heard of dining being transferable. But yes, OP will either need to buy a dining package or pay menu prices for the grandkid
  5. I have done this before, but only because my original offer was a low ball one and my travel party increased in size and some extra room would be worth it. My auction bid was accepted, but still about $5k cheaper than they off the rack price for a 2 bedroom Haven suite. However if you already put in a good bid and increasing it either makes you a little uneasy OR the bid now doesn’t make the cabin a good deal anymore….hard pass. Yes, this is absolutely a way for NCL to maximize revenues but you still can get a great deal if you are vigilant
  6. Anytime between right now until you physically board the ship is when you can find out.
  7. Extremely common for there to be both sting rays and lemon sharks.
  8. Those are two different processes. Check in is at 45 days and boarding passes and tags is at 30 days
  9. I’ve seen AA meetings in every cruise I’ve taken this year.
  10. It’s still there! Just go to “Room Upgrades” and enter your info and it will take you to your bids. Select the one you want to cancel and the option is there at the bottom to cancel.
  11. As long as there is NOT an open deck on 16, 15 would be a good place to be. It will swing more than 9 though. 9’s downside is that it might be a little more noisy from the engine. Probably minimal though. You honestly can’t go wrong either way. If you are even the slightest prone to motion sickness, stick with 9.
  12. Alaska is made for aft balconies!! I did that on my first Alaskan cruise and no other balcony location has come close to being the same experience
  13. I think they are referring to the port disembarkation in general and not this very specific itinerary. Not all cruises ending in Athens began in Rome. Just like in the US, there are cruises in Europe that start and end in the same port.
  14. The age was just very recently changed to 18+. It had been 16+. It’s very rare for restrictions to ever be lifted. I know it happens, but I’ve personally never seen it happen. Kids get asked to leave rather quickly when they are there. This is NOT a kids area.
  15. September is a very wet month in SE Alaska, so late August may see some of that bleed over. May is one of the driest months. Just another thing to factor in.
  16. I believe the word “unusable” was used, not closed. Those are two different words with 2 different meanings. Unusable in the sense that it will be chilly off the western US coast that time of year, maybe too chilly to enjoy. It will not be closed, but it also won’t be a popular place to be on many of those days. The sunny time for anything north of Santa Barbara on the coast is actually late summer thru about October.
  17. I didn’t stutter! 3 days is my experience from my last 2 cruises the past 3 months 😂🤣😂
  18. Within 3 days of sailing is usually when you get your answer based on my experience in the last year.
  19. Adjoining rooms with 2 teenagers is a game changer!! LOL. 1st time my wife and I did that and realized we no longer had to share a bathroom with 2 teenagers…we never went back to cramming into one cabin ever again. Think about it….2 bathrooms. Worth every penny
  20. They said they were 5 nights away from platinum. That sounds like they are more than familiar with NCL loyalty program 70 nights of familiarity to be exact. I also tried to think of a way to see where they were coming from, but i cannot for the life of me come up with an excuse to not know how points work after accumulating 70 nights
  21. I’m booked for my MDR dinners 18 months in advance. So if I’m doing it this far out so are others. How many will book between now and the next 18 months? See how quickly the prime dinner reservation times will be gone if you wait until you board to make yours?
  22. With ships over 100% these days, the odds of winning these are slim to none. You are basically hoping for a last second cancellation to happen to add to the upgrade pool. Put in a bid in for fun, but don’t expect to win
  23. It is a T-shirt that says “Yes, I am a C&A Diamond. Thanks for asking!”
  24. Take a 5 day cruise in a non suite or Haven OR take a 3 day cruise in a suite or Haven. How else did you think points are earned?? 🤔
