  1. Where was the mention of FAS besides you bringing it up? Since there was no mention of FAS by anyone but you just now, I was factoring in the full cost of the package. When the facts given, not assumed, are factored in…my numbers are very close and yours are way off. Funny how details work sometimes
  2. The general fuzzy math comes out to 6-8 cocktails per day to break even. Beers would be closer 10.
  3. The absolute “best” way is to have your Haven concierge make the reservation for you!! May not fit your budget, but you cannot argue with the results!
  4. This is very very standard for NCL.
  5. Sides are all you want from my experience. My wife and I usually order 3-4 sides without any pushback at all. I’m pretty sure the same is true with apps, but it’s already so much food that I’ve never been hungry enough to find out
  6. Yeah, don’t get too excited about a seafood buffet. No lobster, no crab, some shrimp, clam chowder, and maybe 2 other seafood inspired dishes. If you want real seafood on Bliss, go to Ocean Blue instead.
  7. Flying in same day is rarely a good idea
  8. You cannot “share” Plus or Premium perks. Those are held and applied in your name only and are not transferable.
  9. Blaming NCL because they are sticking to their policy that you agreed to seems a bit silly. If you don’t like the travel and booking policies of a 3rd party, book your own travel. You tried to save a buck and now you don’t like the terms you agreed to in order to save said buck. Can’t have it both ways. You aren’t being “punished”. No one is out to get you and their policy wasn’t written to be aimed at you. NCL doesn’t have the same flexibility to book and change flights as you do. This is how they get the flights at a huge discount from the carriers. Low costs airfares almost always come with significant restrictions. You not liking a restriction isn’t their fault..it’s yours when you agreed to it.
  10. You are going to get a JS. Just accept and plan on that. The GS will go to those who do RoyalUp, if there are any available.
  11. Anything before noon is always a bad idea. That port gets bad weather, the port facility is a bit aways from the airport, the drive to the airport is horrible, and that airport is a zoo on cruise disembarkation days. The security line was easily over an hour on my last cruise there and baggage drop off was easily 45 more. About 2 hours to enter the terminal. as for his brother, if he is older than 15 he will also need a government issued picture ID in addition to the birth certificate
  12. Book an actual cabin and not a GTY and this won’t happen to you. Simple solution.
  13. And here I thought you were just being hip by calling them “cats”! 🤣
  14. Sounds like a great way to illegally enter a country and spend some time in jail when you try to leave the country because they have no record of your entry. The port you are trying to leave would need to have customs/immigration there to process your entry. It’s not the same process as when you walk off a ship just to get back on later. You would need to contact RC and see if they have have something special arranged just for you at the port you want to leave at. Don’t hold your breath.
  15. I can also confirm that the gratuity is paid upon booking. The drinks are free, the gratuity is not. When you booked the cruise, you could have removed the Free at Sea drink package and you would have seen this drop your purchase price by several hundred dollars as the gratuities would also be removed.
  16. That got taken out several months ago and is a shame. There is no longer a jazz venue on any ship.
  17. I did it last year and really enjoyed it. I doubt you will be disappointed
  18. No, absolutely correct! I just got off a 21 day sailing 2 weeks ago and this was my EXACT experience. We didn’t have a brand new theater show every day with no second shows. Theatre shows were absolutely performed more than once and thus were repeated. Sorry to disappoint, but correct. Your experience doesn’t mirror everyone’s.
  19. Yes the theatre shows are going to be repeated. There is no way for them to put on new productions even every month. Those often run for years due to production costs and logistics. There will be 2 or 3 shows in total that will run 2-3 nights a week each. Your MDR menu might be on a slightly longer rotation, but that would probably be the biggest change you will see.
  20. I’m with you. The one I had on the Jewel was one of the most chewy steaks I’ve ever had.
  21. I personally would not sail that early. The fjords may still be too clogged with ice to venture too far into them. It’s going to be brutal cold on deck, so everyone is going to be crowded inside. Plus many of the excursions operate with seasonal summer employees who are mostly college kids. There may not be many of these excursions operating as later summer months due to lack of hired help. If you have been to Alaska before, it would be much less of a deal breaker. But if your haven’t, I don’t think you will get as much of a full Alaska experience.
  22. 1) depends on what your specific itinerary says, then add about an hour or so. This is the ideal scenario. 2) Despite what your itinerary says, there can be delays with weather, customs and/or the port authority that can further delay you without any notice or compensation.
  23. Someone will spin this into being Royals fault for not having 10 foot tall balcony rails
  24. Sounds like you need an accessible room. This tubs aren’t big and may not fit the width of a chair. I would see amount getting one of those rooms instead if this is something which you need special accommodations for.
  25. I didn’t think it was anything too special, but a 7 year old would get a kick out of it.
