  1. Did the Jack Daniel's in the French Onion soup throw the taste off for you or did it enhance it?
  2. My DH keeps a cheap 15 ft extension cord bought from Lowes for less than 4 bucks in the top flap of his Resmed bag for years. And like I mentioned in a previous post, has used the ships water for over 20 years of CPAP use while cruising and has had zero problems with his machine. It's similar to car manufacturers sometimes recommending higher octane gas for your car when 87 is sufficient.
  3. On the Horizon in 2018 and 2019 we enjoyed multiple meals at Cucina with the best entree being the tomahawk pork chop.
  4. And you always have the option to A) skip one dinner early with your group to eat in Chibang or Cucina after 745 or B) take advantage of the lunches offered in each of those venues during sea days between 12 and 2, albeit with different menus from dinner time.
  5. The water on board is good enough for CPAP use. I've used it on board for five years and my DH for over 20.
  6. The problem is that the OP has previously cruised on Royal, whose anytime dining these days doesn't officially start until 645 pm. You can sometimes sneak in earlier. Of course as you know, on Carnival anytime starts at 530 most nights and 500 on elegant nights.
  7. Why on God's green earth would you think that the "Family" Harbor area would not have a lot of kids there? It's full of kids even when they are supposed to be in school since parents these days think nothing of taking their kids out of school to go on a cruise. Even if they paid me 108.00, I would turn it down.
  8. The milkshake sounded really good. Came with rum and Kahlua and either vanilla, chocolate or coffee ice cream. Would get it with coffee.
  9. So I assume a double espresso after your meal is out of the question.
  10. Was that the only alcoholic drink that was covered by easy plus? I noticed they had beers and also an alcoholic milk shake with rum and Kahlua that was only 7.99, one would assume they would be covered, by of course this is MSC.
  11. No, for some reason I had a flashback to the scene in the movie Stripes with the late great John Candy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGR3JbYXv8w
  12. I would infer that on their first date they participated in a mud wrestling match and while pining each other, some of the mud got accidentally ingested. Seems like a perfectly logical explanation. 😂
  13. This is what we do over 90% of the time after having cruised the Caribbean about 45 times.
  14. Wow, a matter of perspective post. If the MDR closes on a port day for breakfast at 900 or 930, then sleeping in means getting up at 830. This would be true if you're normally up at 630 each day, but those of us who are retired are usually up at 630 for our second visit to use the facilities before going back to sleep.😉
  15. They're card carrying members of the me society. They are only concerned about themselves and have zero empathy for others. They are the types that jump ahead of others who have been waiting for an elevator since their time is more important than others.
  16. The only desserts worthy are the Grand Marnier Souffle and the Bitter n Blanc.
  17. It's a great itinerary and instead of flying home, it'll be a car service from Brooklyn.
  18. 😄. Sailing on Carnival since 1986. At least the long term memory is still intact and hasn't been altered by Alchemy Bar consumption.
  19. Good choice since Freeport is the least favorite port in many polls. You can hang out at the pool with less people being chair hogs, you can imbibe at the bar of your choice if you invested in Cheers or you can check the list of things to do that are in listed in the Carnival capers or on the app.
  20. As an alternative you could just get a car service set up from NJ to pick you up. We'll be on a 14 day repo cruise on the Enchanted Princess in August of 2024 that starts in Fort Lauderdale, ends in Brooklyn and stops in Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Dominica, St. Maarten, Barbados and San Juan, along with 6 sea days. We live in South Jersey so we will be pricing out local car services to pick us up. I'm assuming it'll run about 350. Obviously yours would be cheaper since you're from North Jersey.
  21. Did you just look on Carnival or did you peruse any of the vast number of other cruise only websites that may have group space or cabins on hold that will not be released until final payment is due? You could also look at the MSC Meraviglia out of Brooklyn
  22. There are no free style machines in the Carnival fleet. The Excel Class ships have the old fashioned fountain soda options that are card swipe activated with locations on Lido in the buffet and on deck 5 in Guy's BBQ.
  23. No, just cruise on the Excel Class or Vista Class ships and you can get cold cans of soda at JavaBlue Cafe.
  24. You have answered your own question if you are only consuming 3 cocktails each day. Unless of course you wish to drink lots of canned soda, espresso based coffee drinks, bottled water, energy drinks and milkshakes. All of these non alcoholic drinks are included and unlimited.
