  1. We are doing Liberty to Bermuda in July, but in August we are trying Princess to Canada\New England. The ship looks really nice, and pretty new- the Enchanted Princess. Maybe check into them...
  2. I'm cruising Princess for the first time and all these "MDR is a madhouse on night one" posts are confusing me- on RC with a set dining time, we show up and get seated on night one, no problems, not hectic.... we already reserved our times for MDR on Enchanted for every night (6pm..every night) so you're saying it shouldn't be that hectic since we set a time in advance, correct? I assumed the lines and craziness are people who just show up and wait for tables?
  3. At least it's not a Cowboys flag! lol
  4. Couldn't you have just called the regular customer service number for this??
  5. Just find Royal Crush and sit back and enjoy the cheesiness...
  6. Wow, this sounds like the exact opposite of what everyone says about Royal! The pours over there are EXACT or even short!
  7. Thanks for doing this...we'll be popping our Princess cherry on Enchanted at the end of August, so will be following along for all the pics, menus and thoughts on the cruise. Really excited to try a new line and this ship does look beautiful.
  8. On Royal they use the same kitchens...but it's different food, Different cuts of meat, different preparation of the food, maybe even different people making it- they just use the same equipment.
  9. Yeah..that's A LOT more books than we saw last year. Good to see it repopulating with books!
  10. So I don't drink, and my wife just does Wine...would they just swap all the liquor out for a bottle of wine or some small cans of wine? All I need is a few sprites and diet Cokes, otherwise
  11. Yep, the original Chickies and Petes bar is in Northeast philly, just a little corner bar, now they're all over and all huge. Did you know Pete sent all of the local Pizza shops in and around Philly cease and desist orders if they were using the term "crab fries" on their menus. He also stole from his servers for a long time until he got caught, between that and the fact that I actually don't think the food is that good, I rarely go- BUT the line to buy fries at the Phillies games is HUGE, people wait 30-40 minutes to buy fries. @laurieal I see a little stage set up on the floor for 70s night... did the cool little bridge thing that unfolds from the globe not work? I LOVE that thing!
  12. I was a few days behind, scrolling through trying to catch up- the last thing I was expecting was to see an Eagles shirt holding some Crab fries in the blog, lol.
  13. I think they eliminated it in the main Casino, but built a little slot room just for the smokers
  14. This is what I found on another thread: Indoor slot room next to the sports bar Outside on Deck 18 Outside the loft cafe on deck 8
  15. On the world cruise they have a laundry attendant who, from some posts I've seen, goes by a few times a day and clears them out
  16. So when looking up long term parking near the terminal in Brooklyn, the Liberty view hotel lot comes up as about a mile away. It's $211 compared to the $315 for the port parking. Is it worth a hundred bucks to park a mile away and just take a short cab ride (or I may drop my wife and luggage off, then go park- I'd even walk at that point- with no wife or luggage, I'd have no issue with a quick mile walk) EDIT: the parking lot site says it's a mile, but google maps seems to say its about 2miles\45 minutes of walking... so an uber may be worth it after all
  17. Thanks for this!! We will be sailing on Enchanted for our first Princess cruise late this summer, so excited to follow along and see all the pics!
  18. The guy in the white shirt is in the exact seat and table I sat at for all of the baseball playoff games in October... wonder if my buddy Christian (bald Filipino guy) is still there!? He's the one that came up to us and remembered all three of us, our names and what we did and where we were from from our previous Oasis cruise 8 months earlier! It was crazy impressive. Also, once again- that's THE spot at Music hall. We had a Journey cover band on and I watched "Don't stop believing" 4 times from that upstairs rail! lol..... Love your posts, thanks for taking us along!!
  19. Just here to say that the upstairs area of Music hall on Oasis was probably my favorite spot. Watched the bands from up there, watched live karaoke up there and just hung out at that bar quite a bit. It was a great, never too crowded area to enjoy music and some drinks at the end of every night when we were on deck 9!
  20. If you scan the qr code in your room each day, you'll get a pdf copy of the cruise compass, like the exact thing just not on paper, and you can still save them as souvenirs. That's what we did the last two cruises and it's nice to have it in digital form to email, print or just look at whenever we want
  21. If anything, they'll have the teen lounge and all the video game systems to themselves. I'm sure there will be other kids that age, but not a ton. Which may be pretty cool if they like each other and are ok with hanging together and utilizing the sports stuff, the lounge and games.
  22. If Princess works like most of the other lines, they actually have nothing to do with the bidding. It's a 3rd party company, and they have no real rhyme or reason on how they choose who wins. I've seen many posts of people bidding on the same thing as a friend and the friend gets the room with a lower bid. It really all seems very random.
  23. Stick it in a phone case, wear it on a lanyard, put it in a bag or purse....
  24. Yes, someone on the facebook group has to have a copy of the compass... I downloaded the digital version to my phone every day with the barcode just so I could save it. I'm sure there's someone in that group that did the same thing. Good luck!!
