Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We went on the MCS Seaside last year in YC and they were great! Food was good, service was good. Our butler took care of everything. We didn't have to lift a finger. But, we did go to the main buffet to check it out and I agree with others that the food there isn't that great. I would probably only cruise with MSC again in yacht Club.
  2. We booked a 3 night all inclusive in cancun/ playa del carmen all inclusive and it's cheaper than 3 nights all inclusive with Celebrity, but not by much. 1500 vs 1600. I think the prices are getting closer than you think.
  3. We were on MSC Seaside Yacht Club in a balcony room and it was really nice. The sitting area was big with a full-size sofa and the balcony was larger than normal as well. Probably could've fit a lounger in there but they only placed chairs and a table. We did spend some time in the room and on the balcony, so thought the price was worth it. Also, had views of their private island for 2 days and that view can't be beat. I like that the yacht club area was all in one place. We did leave it to check out the buffet and shows but you really don't have to if you don't want to. For MSC, we will probably only cruise the yacht club only. I haven't done celebrity yet but it seems nice too. I don't have any loyalty yet since I just started cruising a year ago so I appreciate this comparison post!
  4. Our butler did everything. He made an introduction on the first day and told us all about what he can do for us. I saw him multiple times a day and he walked us to specialty dining, regular dining, and our shows. He made sure we got everything we need. He even found seating in the shade for us at the morning buffet. I saw him at ocean Cay and he was serving us there too. I often wonder if he was following us around 😅. He also helped us disembark and carried our luggage off the ship for us. I've never felt so spoiled. I've heard others complaining about MSC who were not in the yacht club. I really enjoyed the yacht club area.
  5. I was just on the yacht club Seaside and the first thing they did after they seated us for lunch was if there was any food allergies. They seem quite serious about the question but we didn't have any so I can't speak for the experience.
  6. I booked a cabin inside and had a cabin number so it was not a guaranteed cabin. MSC gave me a fantastica balcony about a month before the cruise, but I did bid for yacht club upgrade and they gave it to me. If I didn't get the yacht club balcony, I would've received a regular balcony at no extra charge. Loving this about MSC.
  7. So I just came back from my cruise in the bahamas. We were on the 16th deck forward and brought bonine but never needed it. Barely felt anything. In fact, best sleep I've ever had when traveling. Our past cruise with Princess on the west coast in Feb was rough though and I needed medication. We were on deck 8 middle on that cruise and we could hear the hangers banging against each other.
  8. I'm not sure about Canada but last I checked the post office USPS notarizes for $6 each signature.
  9. I typically try to only carry a backpack and a carryon. This way, I won't have to deal with lost checked luggage or waiting for it at the airport. I can pack a week's worth of clothes into a carryon but I'm also a petite girl. I recently did a 3 night 4 days trip with just a backpack and I bought souvenirs. I don't consider myself minimalist but I try. I've learned my lesson with traveling to Italy one time with a huge checked bag and had to carry it everywhere. It was not fun.
  10. I use 24 hours non drowsy Bonine, but have gone on cruises without it. Do try all medications at home first. my bestie had the same medication as me and I was fine but she was confined to the cabin feeling sleepy and tired the whole cruise from the non drowsy medication.
  11. starting cruising last year and have been on Royal Caribbean twice, Princess once, and going on MSC in a few days.
  12. On our last 3 night cruise, we only ate at the windjammer for breakfast. we had the unlimited drink package so we sat by the bar and had mimosas and bloody marys. we meant to order room service but never did. the ship was only at 30% capacity so we had a window seat every time. Never had the chance to try the main dining room, but we may do that on our next cruise in Feb.
  13. I see it for 74.99/day, not including gratuities.
