  1. This is all great, thanks so much! Good to hear as the first sea day we have will be wife's 60th and she really does not eat much after 3pm.
  2. Did not see this on the sticky's or thread search.... Does Pinnacle Grill have lunch? They have a lunch menu. Do they offer lunch reservations once on board (they are not available via manage booking or Navigator)?
  3. Of course I can protect myself. Been doing it for decades, but if cruise lines are so lame that they do not disinfect tables WE need to speak up about it and I will. Does MDR and other dining venues change table clothes? Rhetorical to make a point. The airline and hotel industry stepped up, cruise lines should too.
  4. I have traveled with disinfecting wiptes for decades. It is kind of hard for me to believe HAL does not clean with disinfectant. 3rd time I traveled post mask mandates, I got it. I now mask on trains in the airport and during boarding deboarding. I will at least do that for the cruise. Has worked well thus far. Not sure what I will do for the cruise. Do you have to show proof of vaccination to board the ships? If so do you have to be boosted?
  5. just bought mine pre cruise 1 week for 149 on. NS
  6. Frankly. I would have asked for another steward. That is completely unacceptable.
  7. Interesting....I eat way more carbs when traveling. Especially on vacation.
  8. That link doesn't take me to anything related to Holland america
  9. What is halfacts? EDIT, WHOOPS Sorry for double post. I see link in thread now.
  10. I have only cruised 2x. Both HAL. Both with cruise long TS pass. I use fitness room at least once per day and the steam, sauna, hydro 2x daily. It is well worth it. Wouldn't book a cruise without this option. There are limits to capacity and sea days maybe hard to get a day pass.
  11. There are definitions of 3 accessibility levels on HAl site. Ambulatory means you are able to walk so small thresholds should not be a problem for you, but there are some extr grab bars and such Fully accessible means you are in wheel chair but able to transfer to another place and that there is adequate space and ramps, etc to get around you room and veranda. Bench in shower, roll in shower, etc. There is a level in between and it means there is a right or left side transfer, not both. It is pretty well documented on the site. The difficulty is getting the room that matches your needs.
  12. I dont drink water out of tap and OJ is considered a drink. I could find the HAL sites on this, but don't really have the energy to do so tonight. How do you tell them I would pay vs have it on my daily "quota"?
  13. Thank you sir. I think we can deal with that. Along with what HAL says they can provide.
  14. Over the course of a day 2 coffees, 1 OJ, 6 waters, 2 teas, 2 cocktail 2 glasses of wine. That is 15 right there and probably rather common.
  15. How does happy hour work if you have elite drink package with "have it all"?
  16. Policy says no plastic. Cans or cartons and only water. So just put 2x12 packs in suitcase and hope they don't check to see if it is beer/soda.or not
  17. I think you are according to: https://www.hollandamerica.com/content/dam/hal/inventory-assets/ships/RN/pdf/hal-rn-deck-plan-102522.pdf If you could post some pics of shower and toilet area that would be awesome, but I get that it might not be convenient. Does the shower head come off, so it can be hand held?
  18. Thanks for the kind words. We are hoping that she is strong enough to go without TPN for a couple of days and be able to get in pools and stuff, but we will see. We are presently thinking that we will just chill on the ship during port days, LOL.
  19. It really is trivial withe the exception of hygiene. You must be meticulous with prep and cover. Don't take it lightly. My wife nearly died of sepsis from bad hygiene on pick line. In hospital for 10 weeks, thus the port.
  20. That is correct. Most people could not tell difference in ambulatory suite. IMO, all rooms should be ambulatory.
  21. Use 3M Command hooks. No magnet and work great. Much lighter too.
  22. Oh... we know. I could do it now if I needed to. Just will want some practice with a nurse present. My wife if oncology nurse. We aren't that worried about it. Many nurses have never done it.
  23. Yep....found the numbers too. They said no problem with stool for shower and fixed raised seat on toilet. Done. Thanks for responses all...
