Yes, cabin steward has always complied when I've asked on day 1.

In this weather, today IS a good day for hot tea, but no to anything curry, so I'll also pass on the meal. Sitka is one of our favorite ports in AK. The new pier is nice. The marina Sitka Sound is peaceful as seen from our balcony on Eurodam May 2023 We see more bears in Sitka than almost anywhere else in AK Finally made it above freezing, heading to windy 50°; single digit nights are back in the forecast. If the rain also arrives, road conditions will be unsafe. Prayers and positive thoughts for all.- 99 replies

For the pre-school population it's Fear of Making Oopsies. For old-school middle schoolers playing spin the bottle it's Fear of Making Out. Then there's the cruisers who have Fear of Man Overboard.

That's on him - so long as you don't have to be seen w/him when he wears "it." -
Interesting new 'flower' arrangements for sale.
Haljo1935 replied to colbe's topic in Holland America Line
@3rdGenCunarder I've never paid a service charge for flowers or vases; just the price. -
Here's an obstructed balcony that looks at life boats - it was actually pretty nice compared to windowless walls.

Is there a men's steamroom on the Koningsdam
Haljo1935 replied to cruisediego2024's topic in Holland America Line
Correct - steamrooms are coed and not free (accessed via Thermalpass purchase); saunas are separate for men and women and available w/o extra charge. -

Ok so true confession - I was more skimming than reading (cuz the Pat & Vanna Show aka Wheel of Fortune is on) when I saw this I thought you were sharing some really BIG news 😄 then read something about the birth of a lady and thought "wow, she's so casual about that and who goes on a cruise the day after they have a baby and did we know another Mini Megan was on the way?!" Then the lady missed the bonus round (no BMW for her), a commercial came on and I actually looked at your post - imagine my surprise at figuring out this a scale and... and your new puppy is adorable!!🫣 -
Absolutely - fully alarmed, just in case 😏

It does not take long to get from the pier to Pearl Harbor. You might want to see if Shore Exc is able to confirm the order of your tour, ie that it will go to the Arizona first before the city highlights. That way you'll have a better idea of the timing. I don't think someone else can use your tickets. https://www.recreation.gov/ticket/233338/ticket/16

And either way they're paid, yes, the crew still receives the gratuities. I cringe at the thought of a cruiseline pocketing monies intended for crew, even if that cost is charged off as a Marketing expense or other cost of doing business vs being collected from passengers.

No need to specially notify Guest Services - your following the self-assist process and lining up to scan off in the first group per the notices @POA1 posted above, is your notice to them. If you go, they'll likely refer you to the self-assist process. Reminder, your ability to get off right away is dependent upon the timing of ships clearance. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
