  1. @SusieKIslandGirl cannot book shore excursions or other things 3 days prior to sail date. And cannot use OBC in advance, regardless of how close (or far) to sail date. Exception is HIA credits that @Caribbean Chris mentioned. Best course is to book w/cc then go to Shire Exc Desk once onboard and have the excursions moved to OBC. Don't go to Guest Services, it has to be Shore Exc and must be before you do the excursions. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  2. Girls and emergency nurses certainly deserve to be celebrated, not sure about "my" party, but I can go with it. Agree with @puppycanducruise the quote seems a bit much, hmm? Pass on the meal & drink, would have the wine, not been to Germany. Day in history was important for Catholics and a good lesson to all - be more inclusive. 66° headed to 81° - I appreciate the cooler temps...finally. Heavy work day ahead of visit to Chiro this afternoon - sure hope she can do something for my shoulder; it's really bothering me. I spent quite a bit of time last night researching adapters for Italy and ended up ordering another one, just in case. Some sites say Type C 2 prong, others say Type L 3 prong; I have Type C and ordered an L, so should be good whichever is correct. Also decided to get euros from ATM at airport when we land, so that is checked off. I will request a pre-paid card today per credit union suggestion since pickpockets are such a concern. Prayers and positive thoughts for all.
  3. Yes, but nothing other than luggage tags need be printed.
  4. We took floding ice coolers in case there was an issue with ice. We did not have an issue w/cabin steward filling them daily. A couple times, we got ice in Lido when he hadn't come by yet, but always able to get it somewhere. And yes, casino smoke was horrible.
  5. Hey @mafig what specifically are you looking for? Boarding pass w/barcode will be a couple weeks before departure on both web and Navigator App. Luggage tags should be there now. There is not anything else you need.
  6. We were on Eurodam April 29 - May 6, so fairly recently after dry dock. There were elevator issues that pax weeks after my cruise were still reporting. We had a few minor cosmetic issues in our cabin (hole in wall where old TV had been, fraying carpet...) and on our deck, but nothing major that would keep us from sailing on her. Noticed a cracked window in Lido when I was taking a picture of a whale. I used my Thermalpass 2x/day everyday and did not notice issues other than 1 of the steam rooms (small one closest to ceramic chairs) did not have the aroma it was supposed to have. The library had been installed and was stocked. We did not notice smells (none of the usual methane gas/sewer smell that seems to happen on every ship I'm on) and the food was good. Food is subjective and I'm not really sure what it has to do w/drydock. But again, it was good - served at proper temp and portions plentiful. MDR & PG service was slow. Hope that has some of what you're looking for.
  7. @DANCING GRANDMOMMY Correct - Terrazza Seaday Brunch is on a specific sea day only and is for Terrazza pax only. You can also stop by the steakhouse to secure your slot if you miss the call. It is not buffet- it is sit down in the steakhouse. The food was really good.
  8. We are on HAL Niuew Statendam we are in port Oct 29, Nov 9 and Nov 26. We're in the Azores Sun Dec then head to FLL. I would love to spend a day in Turks - it is so pretty. Since our credit union says they will not provide euros, we'll be using the ATM at the airport. We did have to fill in any info for American Airlines, but they already have my passport details in my profiles. I will call them to see if there's anything we need to do. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  9. I'm envious. My credit union told me today they cannot get me euros and told me to use ATM at airport or money exchange in the mall. Very strange considering they're an international institution serving military worldwide. But oh well - I am happy for those who have a couple clinking around and will hit the ATM at FCO.
  10. Will we need them to use restrooms when we land at FCO? That's always my first stop at any airport; don't know if I can wait to find an ATM, seriously. Or do we have to be sure we make Last call on the airplane then make a beeline for ATM once we land?
  11. Hey @marshhawk what info for Italy flight are you trying to compete and where are you trying to enter it? I have a flight to Rome later this month and another late next month, both for cruises out of Rome, and didn't know there was anything special we need to do. Thanks for your help.
  12. All 3 of the days are important. Interesting one is facing fears when the quote includes a tarantula - definitely a fear I have no interest in facing - ick! Don't understand the quote; would enjoy the meal & drink; have not been to NZ The history days are both important. 81° headed to 88° on Thurs; glad to see forecasts under 90°. Shoulder is very sore w/a diff type of pain. No idea why, have not done anything differently; maybe Chiro can provide insight and hopefully relief when I see her tomorrow. Booked another tour for our upcoming Rome cruise (Oct 29) and sent a couple inquiries for the other one (Nov 26). Need to get them locked down. I don't mind "winging it" on more local cruises, but ones that are so far away. I think I have FOMO. I bought tickets for the Fast attack at FCO and our bus transfers FCO to hotel & back; now just need cruise terminal transportation. Prayers and positive thoughts for all.
  13. HAL laundry does a great job w/special requests. Just put a note in the bag. You can also do multiple bags - 1 for hang dry and 1 for no iron, for example. HAL laundry service is a much discussed topic - I think you'll find reviews and comments to be overwhelming positive. I have used their service for years before reaching no cost 4* level and would definitely continue to do so even if still had to pay for it. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  14. The PCC I was assigned I think won company awards for Least Helpful and Most Combative. Seriously, I actually got an email from her (which I saved but have not yet acted on) saying she was busy in Zoom calls and did not have time to respond to me. That was in response to a voicemail I left her w/cruise dates, ship and cabin location I wanted to book. She had 0 work to do other than create the booking and email me confirmation. So, I called my TA to do the booking and have not contacted her since. I also prefer to book directly w/HAL but that particular cruise required a code for the discounted rate so I wasn't able to do it myself. I don't like giving up the ability to communicate w/HAL that happens when ypu have a TA, so I don't frequently use one. So far, I have not seen a benefit of using a PCC since mine is worse than horrible and their hours are not compatiblew/mine (they work days Mon-Fri), so I book direct most of the time. I have heard of people having awesome PCCs, but we cannot share contact details, so they remain illusive unicorn...
  15. That's the exact sweet spot for a banana. Hard to time it on a cruise, lol.
  16. You could have printed boarding pass as a backup (be sure it has a barcode) but only need the electronic one from Navigator App.
  17. I haven't even checked weather for our cruise out of Rome, nor have I checked into getting some Euros. So I guess no peeing for me & DH. 🫣 I don't know how I'm going to pull myself away from your Live long enough to go on my own trip, but I'm looking forward to your trip! I'm also a white wino - so you better have a few extra for me since I can't pee 🙃 Safe travels - I know you're going to have a blast!!
  18. It has not been discontinued as of Feb this year. While the map may show the tram runs a limited path, we have found if you ask, they'll take you anywhere you want to go. They may be more accommodating the less busy they are.
  19. Happy Thanksgiving to our northern neighbors!🦃🍁 I like the days - fire prevention is definitely important, we have not replaced any smoke detectors since the house was built 16 years ago (guess the next to-do list has now been started); where would we be w/o our buddy Leif? As @Quartzsite Cruiser mentioned, appropriate Leif Erikson Day & Columbus Day are on the same day. Like the quote; pass on the meal & drink; not been to Korea. 55° headed to 90° but the weekend cools to 75°; we need the cooler temps. Shoulder is really bad this morning but I'll exercise it anyway in hopes of moving through the pain. PT this afternoon will either be really bad or bring relief - I hope it's the latter. This is the first visit since returning from the cruise. With less than 3 weeks before we leave, I need to keep pushing for progress. We did not get jabs yesterday, so I need to get them scheduled. Prayers and positive thoughts for all.
  20. Or hide it where you choose, enjoy the good feeling you get and ignore the Negative Nellie's...🙄
  21. You can do it - it will be great!! I'm so thrilled to read your LIVE and see all your great pictures!📣🎥
  22. IMO, they're both great. I personally avoid boarding in Vancouver, so if one of them does that, I would choose the other. We like both NA and Noordam; probably a bit more partial to Noordam just because our first couple HAL cruises were on her and we have great memories. How late into Sept are you looking at? Something going north later in the season could have the potential for more rain. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
