  1. I'll answer #2 - you will NOT automatically receive a final statement- if you want a final statement before you disembark (which I strongly recommend) you will need to do that either very late night the last night or very early final morning. I get 2 - one I pdf from the Navigator App when I finish breakfast before I head out to leave the ship; I pdf it so I have an easy-to-access electronic copy just in case it'sever needed. The other one I get printed out from Guest Services the final morning after breakfast; I stop by on way back to cabin to grab my stuff then leave the ship. This times very closely to the pdf I got from Navigator. I compare the 2 and if there's a discrepancy or any errors, I stop back by Guest Services before leaving. Then, once you're home, a few days after the end of the cruise, a pdf version will be available on both Navigator App and website. I download that and compare it to the final one I got from the ship. If you have an error that shows up, or a charge you want to dispute, it's important you have the final one from the ship as a reference. I have only had 1 post-cruise error that I had to have fixed. I hope yours goes smoothly. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  2. Yes, thank you, I agree Pompeii is worth a trip; I was there a few years ago during a cruise w/sister, but DH has not been. He very much enjoys those types of places, he simply cannot abide a several-hour trip to get there 🫣
  3. Congrats on being a shareholder! Glad you're able to benefit from the OBC across the lines. Safe travels - enjoy your cruises!
  4. Did you find having your luggage an issue when going from airport to the train? We are planning to do that since it's so much cheaper (and quicker) than any kind of shuttle, but are concerned about hauling luggage w/a bad shoulder. Also, how was the train to Venice? Easy to make the switch once in Termini? So glad you made it - looking forward to pictures from Venice.
  5. W/American Airlines, all the people on same booking get the benefits of the highest level traveler. So if you have the benefits and she has the same AA record locator number as you, she will get free bags when using Luggage Direct. But if she has a different record locator she will not. Just be sure to put the AA Advantage number for whoever has the higher benefits on the Luggage Direct form, don't put both. And they do check w/the airline.
  6. You note $0 cost and your AA advantage number on the form (there's a place for both those). It works - I do it every time both in FL and SeaTac. FL you still pay the $25 program fee (charged to your cabin statement so can use OBC) but SeaTac it's free - paid for by Seattle.
  7. I recall a recent nod to baldness, but have room to give them another day. I'm a fan of eggs and dessert. Letterman - funny guy. LOVE a good meatloaf, maybe try the drink, def the wine, have been to Victoria several times for our obligatory foreign port stop on AK cruises. We enjoy dinner, drinks and music at Irish Times Pub when we go. In May, we did not go into town - it was very windy, cold and raining. I don't have any pictures, but it is a pretty place. Currently a nippy 54° headed to sunny 73°, forecast shows 86° on Fri, so we're not in fall temps yet. Trying to finalize all our tours and realize in my foggy state I made 2 major mistakes - bought tickets to Malaga when we had decided to HOHO & see some Picasso and booked Pompeii & Amalfi coast after DH said he did not want to spend that much time on a bus. Crud!! While I can cancel and get a refund for the tours, the entry tickets themselves are non-refundable and I hate to just throw that $$ away. Plus, that will those groups 2 people short, which I do not want to do. Double crud!! Shuttle co confirmed the final leg of our Rome transfers, so we're all set on that trip. My friend on the 2nd trip is really wanting to "travel like locals" and use the train even though it involves my bum shoulder schlepping luggage through the streets of Rome... Laundromat, grocery and liquor stores and car inspection plus PT will fill the day. Prayers and positive thoughts for all.
  8. I use it every time it's offered on board and have never set it up in advance. Strange, though, you get an error; seems you should be able to do it in advance if the port and airline participates. Is your airline one that participates? Not all airlines do. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  9. The only way to see OBC is to get an updated invoice from HAL. It will show a breakdown of the "type" or source of OBC, but you will see the dollar amount. If you have a TA on the booking, you will have to get it from them. If you do have a TA, they can breakdown OBC by type.
  10. This is supplemental to the cruise, right? It's not being pulled from gen pop and being replaced by a charter, is it?
  11. So unfortunate you will not get to Punta Delgada - I hear it's gorgeous. We are scheduled there on our TA in Nov and will be crossing toes, fingers and anything else I can cross...I will anxiously await Tina's video. I hope you all stay safe and the crew member is able to be picked up.
  12. So sorry to hear you have Covid; hope it is a mild case and you recover quickly. 🤧🤕🤒 Unfortunate you had a less than stellar cruise - I hope it's not the last and the next is exactly what you want it to be. Feel better soon.🙏
  13. We were on Noordam May 2018 and May 2022, both times to AK. We didn't notice anything lacking and enjoyed the smaller size.
  14. Welcome to HAL and to the best cabin location - aft wake views!! Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  15. You absolutely can take a picture and email. You'll black out sensitive info, such as account numbers, address, etc. You will receive back an email confirming it was received; wait 2-3 days, then have an updated invoice sent so you can see the OBC as it's not visible on the website.
  16. Yes on the OBC amounts and No on what type of account. All you need is a brokerage statement that you can send in documenting you have min 100 shares in your name.
  17. Thanks for asking - I wish I was staying, but I have to work, so I will be coming home and going back. If I survive the jet lag (and pickpockets) I think they'll be fabulous. I've not done a TA, so this will be interesting to see how I handle all those sea days. First trip is w/DH and 2nd is w/friend.
  18. They are absolutely beautiful! I will look at the AK views differently next time we go. I hope the recipients on your Christmas card list appreciate the gift you sent them.
  19. Happy Birthday to your son; you are blessed to be able to spend some time together, especially on such a special day.
  20. If you'd like to add them to the list, my upcoming cruise dates are: 11 days NW Statendam Oct 29-Nov 9 Rome round trip and 14 days NW Statendam Nov 26-Dec 10 Rome->FLL TA.
  21. @kochleffel I like your plant pictures and (not knowing the assignment) would give you a high score on them. Is a Pacsafe bag similar to Trave!on - cut resistant?
  22. Skeptics and silly sayings seem appropriately fitted to share a day; sight deserves to be celebrated every day. Mr Cummings may be right... Pass on the meal and drink k, would try the wine, have not been to Corfu but will be there Nov 1!! Yay for a new port!! Interesting collection of days. MS Biles sure accomplished a lot at a young age, she no doubt felt all that weight later. Currently at our high of 79, Wed is supposed to be 82. Work started early this morning and I'm just coming up for air, so late reading and contributing here - I find myself really looking forward to seeing what others have going on and appreciate you all bringing us into your circle and sharing. It's not just children that benefit from A Village... I got 2 more transfers booked today, but they were way more than we said we were comfortable paying. But with my shoulder, I just don't see us dragging luggage through the streets of Rome to take a train... Prayers and positive thoughts for all.
